Good run. Nice lookin' horse too. She doesnt really drop her shoulder much, and she goes pretty wide, but other than that it was pretty good. Small run too :P
Although I dont ever use a crop on my horse, I use it while running barrels. I never hit him with it, I just stick it right out beside him, where he can see it, and it gets him moving.
I don't think that using a crop on your horse is abuse at all, it is the exact same as spurring. Everyone needs to calm down about that..

u dont have to. i suggest u get ur horse for the first year of showing just knowing the leads and patterns. next show season is when u should start going for speed, and if u feel ur ready for a whip or ur horse is lazy then get one; but dont use it cuz u think it lks cool. it dsnt look cool, it looks like this person knws what they're doing and are asking for speed.

Do you know what the patterns dimensions are? Our patterns here are 100 by 130 sometimes bigger and 14's take the money home. That pattern looks alot smaller then ours. What wins that arena?

Their "break" Julily84, is when they are done with the barrel pattern. Horses skin is 7-8x thicker than ours. But a reallyyy thick coat on, or maybe 3, and then give yourself a little smack with the crop. If that horse was in any distress, it could buck and pin it's ears back. But it's not. And whipping is better than kicking the air out of your horse fyi.
the horse doesnt rele feel the wip, try putting on a big winter jacket and wip urself...there skin is soooo much thicker and its only 4 about 13-16 seconds and they arn't wipping there horse 24-7 in the arena only on the way back, and that is only 4 about 2 to 3 seconds, so just b quiet

not exactly. If you use a martingale for training. as pro barrel racer Sherry Cervi does.. it keeps their head low, and then you only use a tiedown for runs. Legs arent going to do anything for a horse thats throwing its head and trying to rip the reins out of your hand to run. But then again, any horse that does this needs to be worked with a LOT!

Actually the whip encourages them to go faster its mostly the sound that makes them go fast. It doesn't hurt plus a horses skin is a whole lot thicker then a humans

Looks like you dont do alot of barrel patterns miss huntseat rider. Get a life - you cant change what already happened and you cant change how someone rides. Its not like shes abusing the horse.

tie downs artn for horses who are uncontoralable, we use them for horses that throw there heads, sorry about my bad spelling, and tie downs arent bad

Actually the whip encourages them to go faster its mostly the sound that makes them go fast. It doesn't hurt plus a horses skin is a whole lot thicker then a humans

no it doesnt hurt the horse at all its just the sound that makes them go faster and just a little bit of a sting kind of like when someone taps ur arm
