  • 6:55 A mighty mullet

  • RIP Nick Charles

  • Parents should be role models is the best thing he said.

  • I like this interview charles is a real dude at the end of the day say what you feel not what they want you to feel

  • charles sounds different here. now he sounds... fatter

  • When the hell were athletes charging for autographs...???

  • Man I look at this & I look at Charles now. Wow.

  • Hes older now and living good which means eating well so of course he gained weight but hes still handsome

  • Charles has added about 100 lbs of fat since this aired.

  • That just trrrebile

  • I loved his response concerning athletes being role models.

  • Damn what happened to arsenio hall??

  • This was by far the greatest talk show on TV in its day, and it still would be if it were on.

  • That's turrible.

  • I wonder if Charles ever coulda won one with Philadelphia. Who else did he have helping him? Not much I think.

  • @RuflessRecords Mahorn, Manute Bol, they actually had a pretty decent team there for a couple of years.

  • @RuflessRecords yeah right, phoenix had a great lineup its so sad time flies, hes now going to be 48 years old.

  • @RuflessRecords

Closest he got in my opinion was with phoenix, but MJ was too much of a beast back thenz.

  • @roumanobr I loved that Phoenix team. Charles, Kevin Johnson, Danny Ainge, Dan Majerle, Cedric Ceballos...

    Great group.

  • thats back then when Barkley was getting that groupie booty after games

  • On top of being one of the top players and best rebounders in history, I've always liked Charles Barkley because he's outspoken, brash, and always says what's on his mind. He says all the things we want to say, but wouldn't have the guts to say and take the heat that comes with it.

  • @mcneal78

Then why is he hated so much? Its mostly because he says the truth. When you have alot of haters and lovers its because you say the truth

  • he tells the truth. but occasionally he goes overboard early in his career he spoke on pure emmotion without thinking.

He is also very misunderstood. His commercial on athletes not being role models was misunderstood he meant parents are the kids examples not that athletes have a right to do anything off the court

  • The best? Probably not but he's my favorite. I remember him when he played for the Suns. He would be a good politician too.

  • Speaking of which, he's gonna be running for governor of Alabama in 2014. He announced that in October of 2008.

  • 6'5 power foward

  • Barkley was a real nigga and a GREAT player. Never be another Sir Charles. a 6'4 Power Forward that was the league MVP.. If I didnt see it myself I would never believe it.

  • 6'4 wow, he wasnt that small and playing power forward. He was 6'7-260, still undersize for a power forward. Still a real baller.

  • no he was definitly 6-4. Look it up.

  • he was 6'4.. I know it sounds crazy but its true. Height wise hes small for shooting guard. I believe they listed him as being 6'6.

  • @ngonzo85 Barkley was 6'4" and 3/4 without sneakers, the same with Jordan.

  • @joekiddlouischama

    jordan was 6'6

    barkley was 6'4

  • my pops old college coach made him go on a visit to watch em play in a texas playground league .....and dude is diff 6'4''

  • wasnt that a foul at 7:43, because charles touched him while shooting the basketball, just wondering

  • Look at slim Charles!

  • my 2nd favorite player of all time in nba......

very strong power forward, athletic, leaper, skilled, intelligent player, funny, bad boy guy in court,........... wooooooooooooooooooooooooooheeeeeeeeeeeeee.......................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Please, anyone knows when & how Charles became "Sir" Charles?

  • He was strong, I remember he use to just have his way with the 6'10 Horace Grant in the low post.

  • Strong, Fast, Skilled, Quick, A Leaper and MOST AGRESSIVE PASSIONETE PLAYER EVER

Today`s NBA would be destroyed by a healthy 1985 to 1995 Sir Charles

  • Without a doubt. His aggressiveness was unmatched! Him and Jordan, the best!

  • Dwight Howard or Kevin Garnett couldn't hold sir Charles?

  • barkley was better than both of them

  • Garnett couldn't hold him when he was playin'.

  • If it weren't for those old guys the guys of today wouldn't have anything to admire and find inspiration off of. It's like Kobe Bryant would be as great if Michael Jordan wasn't? Probably not, he most likely looked at Jordan in awe in found inspiration to take his game to the next level. If everyone were scrubs, Kobe would probably be a scrub too. Present learns from the past.

  • Barkley with no handchecking rules of today? HaHaHaHa!

Sir Charles would destroy this league...

  • donde puedo verlo con subtitulos?

  • thats a skiny ass matha f***a~!

  • he was chubby back then too, but damn got game!

  • Charles was pretty cute back then lol.

  • look at the fade

  • If the kids today only knew how good Barkley was. They think Lebron was a freak of nature. Barkley was like Lebron only better. If he was playing today he would be the MVP!!!

  • He's my second favorite athelete of all time (Iverson being first.) But NO WAY is better than Lebron. More skilled (excluding atheleticism) no not even that.

  • Defensive rules have changed since Barkley's day and it now favors the offensive player. Until Lebron wins an MVP or two, I have Barley ahead of him. Lebron may be a better passer but Barkley was a better rebounder. Both could score and played similar defense. Barkley would be a MVP player today.

  • Today's rules favor the defense more than those in the 80s and 90s. Yeah they call more ticky-tack defensive fouls. But more importantly they did away with the man-to-man rules to allow zones and effective trapping. That is why scoring is lower now.

And no Barkley couldn't contest any MVP race with LeBron.

  • And no Barkley couldn't contest any MVP race with LeBron.

If Kobe and Paul can contest Lebron for MVP, I am quite sure Barkly would give him a run for his money.

  • Lebron is a freak of nature...y do we gotta look at Charles Barkley to confirm that? Lebron is 6'8 260 basically all muscles, as fast as anybody in the league. and as athletic as anybody. he's 3rd most athletic in my eyes behind Howard and J Smoove(dont argue this part, my opinion). but he is a freak of nature

  • I wasn't arguing about Lebron. I was arguing Barkley's greatness. I know Lebron is a freak but most people overlook Barkley. He is one of the greatest forwards to ever play. This video is of Sir Charles not Lebron.

  • but u said "If kids today only knew how good Barkley was...they think Lebron was a freak of nature" that basically implied that Lebron isnt a freak of nature cuz u seem to believe the stereotype of my generation being ignorant. i dont need to have lived in the 80s to know that Magic Jordan Barkley Ewing and all those people were great, highlights, stats, and reputation are good enough.

  • I didn't intend for it to sound that way. The younger generation is extremely intelligent and have a lot of knowledge about the game. I wasn't trying to insult anyone, nor was I trying to discredit Lebron. I was merely pointing out that Barkley was a beast, a freak of nature. What bothers me is when younger fans blast me saying, "Wilt, Russell, Bird, Barkley etc...couldn't play today". How would they know if they never watched them play? I apologize if I offended you.

  • yea my bad. its just that in my experience everyone from the 80s is the same. always sayin "the players from this generation would never have been able to stand on their own 2 feet in the 80s" now this can be true. but is it necessary? no, times have changed, and they cant seem to adjust. and they always take it out on my generation.

  • crap, the high top fade

  • Look how skinny Chuck was. I saw him in person about 2 months ao and he's a bad (round) boy.

  • You gotta love the silk Chess King shirt Chuck is sporting.

  • 6:53 Fright Night vampire.

  • @cardifanscom i loved him in the deodorant commercials of right guard, anything less would be uncivilized.

  • @Verdis1 he was a butterball, my sister served him a chocolate mocha at the double tree in 1999 when he came to the fred meyer challenge, he was a butterball turkey. my dad got his autograph for me, he said hes not a dick, he is humble in his eyes. people misjudge him.

  • gotta love chuck !

  • The Greatest Powerforward That Every Played This Game...PERIOD!!!!

  • I agree bro!!! #1 Chuck, #2 Duncan, #3 Malone

  • Was Karl Malone on the Show ?

  • @AceroySangre Sorry not a fan never was!!!!!

  • I remember this; this was like early in the 1990-91 season and I think Philly's record was like 8-3 going into this game; they just lost Johnny Dawkins for the season but they won this game and Barkley hit this huge three. The Sixers were good that year but bad trades and injuries cost them the season.
