The actor who played Kelly on GL was about 24-25. He later played THE FLASH on the short-lived CBS series based on the comic superhero. He also played a character named Mitch on DAWSON'S CRACK. Mitch was the father of the main character played by James Vander Beek. Tom Cruise's "beard" Katie Holmes also starred on this show.
There was a movie on Showtime I watched, it confirmed what the little boy said was true, Poor Kristen was fired before they opened, who knows why? They interviewed her and she teared up talking about this thirty years later. But she did go on Guiding Light and played a girl named Morgan who fell in love with a man named Kelly, way too old for her though. She was sixteen or something like that and he looked thirty.
And Andrea McArdle went on to be a super bitch.
