i have a question. i'm coming back to japan next winter and i wanna take part in this bboying thing at yoyogi. is it just a cypher type thing, like can i just go in, or do i have to know people?
this is a pretty common scene in Japan. Especially at night, there are countless groups practicing throughout the streets and storefronts. May not be the best, but I enjoyed seeing people everywhere busting on the streets. I remember when it was like that here in the US.
"they would attract a bigger crowd if they were doing mroe and longer power moves"
I don't think those guys gave a fuck if anyone watched or not. They are just a bunch of B-Boys having fun dancing in the park, on a Sunday afternoon.
The cops would have probably shut them down anyway, if they attracted too big a crowd. As I remember they had probably 30 or 40 people watching anyway.

As it happens I've noticed that the Japanese tradition of breaking tends to favor styleheads.

"what's with the over lapping music?!"
Dono, I think it was a lame attempt by another group to preform. But they were pwned quickly by the b-boy music.
