  • @hippigirlful thank you thank you thank you! I want this video to inspire those who are new to the dread journey so that they stick with it and can really get the full experience :D

  • those are nice

  • fuck the people who say dreads are rank. Yours are beautiful

  • @23milz2suagrsplz Right!? I don't even pay attention to their ignorance. Thank you for appreciated beauty and knowing not all dreads are dirty. Sure they look like shit in the beginning stages but I'd like to see those people tell me my beautiful, waist length, 5yr old locks are disgusting now. I get compliments on how great I smell on a regular basis actually :P

  • wow that is disgusting lol

  • Well...It turns out I'm gonna have one fat congo in the back. It's kinda stressing me out though, I mean this thing is huge. All of my roots grew together in the back. Any suggestions? Should I keep it?

  • @NeelChang In my experience, you should do what feels right. If it feels like they should congo and you're not getting too much tension from it pulling from opposite sides of your head or anything, just let it be. But if you feel like it needs to be separated, rip them apart :) My boyfriend has a few really big congos and he finally split his biggest one in half and realized they were dreads that connected from opposite sides and it was pulling alot so it felt much better separated ya know?

  • My dreads turned 1 year yesterday. Hurray. For babydreadheads, dont lose hope, dreads take time!

  • u have lovely andd very loong dreads;) !!! i started mine two days ago and it realy itches ! :)

  • @ricardillosk8 Baby dreads!!! YAY! Good luck on your journey!! :D Try using tea tree oil on your scalp for the itch

  • @hippiejew thanks!!

  • Ahh! I favorited this! haha. i love your dreads and the styles you made!

  • @CrayonsNWafflecones AWESOME!!! Thank you! :D

  • I guess time is your best friend when it comes to locking up your hair. Your hair came out awsome. I just started mine. They are kinda loose right now, but I think over time they will lock up nice. How do you keep your dreads from growing together into one big dread? Anyway your dreads look nice.

  • @NeelChang Yep, time and patience. Everyday while they are young you should go through and gently rip apart the roots that are starting to combine and palm roll.

  • waw !! more power to you !!!

  • Beautiful! I wish I still had all my dreads, I had to brush them out for work but I still kept my favorite one. :3

I am in looovveee with how you felted them.

  • @N30NZ0MB13 aww thats so sad. How long did you have them before you had to brush them out? and where did you get a job that made you get rid of them??

Thank you very much, sometimes I miss all my felt.

  • @hippiejew It was for a grocery store that was paying very well at the time. At my newer job I've been hinting that I want to bring them back and hope that it works out lol. They were a little older than two years, but my hair was pretty short and I never used any wax. It still took forever and left my ends really damaged, but I got to keep my hair, and I was worried I would have to cut them off haha. The grocery store manager was just like not clean blah blah blah disgusting blah blah blah. XD

  • @N30NZ0MB13 I hate that so many people assume dreadlocks are unclean

  • @hippiejew Me too, and I'm sorry my computer decided to spam you if it still showed all those comments lol.

  • @hippiejew mine are only not clean when I cannae be bottard to clin them

  • You are too sexy

  • this is very very cool. i am at the 24 second mark in your journey and am soooooo glad this is normal. thanks for the vid.

  • @fitztheviking Thanks dude. Yeah its totally normal, no worries. Dreads just take time and patience. Keep up the good work :)

  • lovely

  • I have previously dreaded and took them out, and plan to redo them sometime. I want mine to look just like yours! beautiful btw(:

  • @slomuchi aww thanks! It just take time and patience. Just let your dreads work it out on their own... they know what to do ;)

  • smashing dreads, the felting looks wicked , mine are 10 months old and driving me nuts , cant wait till they grow up some more , your pics give me loads of hope that my baby dreads will sort themselves out lol :))

  • @wevskysgirl the beginning is the hardest part, but they're sooo worth it! Just stick with it and they'll sort themselves out, just don't fuss with them too much, they know what they're doing :P

  • im letting mine dread naturally, 2 small strange dreads have already appeared and i look like ive been living in a forest for 6months :D

  • so bea-ooti-ful!

I really loved this tie line of dread wonderfulness!

  • I wish mine were that long. I started back in 2006 growing mine, but my g/f said they were nasty and made me cut them, after doing that she left me. Starting again in 2009 two years old and they are doing awesome!

  • your felt work is awesome. I want to get one of mine done, but it seems complicated.

  • @cararnett it is not complicated at all. It is very easy and simple. All you do is place the loose wool roving over the dread and then stab it repeatedly with a felting needle. Thats it :D I have some tutorial videos on how to do it.

  • i can't wait until i can say i've been dreading as long as this.

  • This video still makes me really happy. I started my dreads almost 3 months ago, cause I combed after the first bit. I did a bit of maintenance at first but I actually love how crazy my dreads are now. There's something really liberating about just letting hair just do what it wants.

  • lovely dreads.... i like the way you didnt stress about the loose ends... they looked lovely btw.. i think loose ends softens the look, and gives it more contrast...

  • They are so beautiful!! Do you do any maintenence for the roots? It kind of bugs me when they only mat together at the roots.

  • @litandenvironment just rip the roots apart if they start to connect :)

  • I know this video is way old and I've seen it before, but I just want to say that your dreads have come a long way and it's amazing. Makes me regret giving up on my old poofy ones so soon.

  • @eleventhousandfour yeah I've seen a lot of people make that mistake :( but you can always grow them again someday :D

  • I love the colors!

  • nice journey , June 15th pic. the best

  • @Timetraveler7777 why june 15th? :P

  • My hair is crazy! It was longer than your when it started to lock and now my locks are almost a year old and are shorter than your at the age of one. Grrr! I want my locks to grow faster! Btw, i like yours :) How many locks are there?

  • @crazy888girl yeah if you start them longer they usually shrink up more, but shrinking is GOOD cause it means they are tightening up a lot so embrace it :D I have about 38 I believe

  • PLEASE DO A TUTORIAL FOR THE SWIRLY HAPPINESS!!!!

  • They are adoreable!

  • thanks for the inspiring vid! at just over a year, i'm past the most frustrating stage and love mine. but on "bad hair days" when i sometimes wonder why i'm putting myself through this, it helps to see a vid like this. mine looked exactly the same throughout your timeline, so it stands to reason they will look as beautiful at 3 years :)

  • @lauramadigan I love love LOVE this comment :) Thank you for making me feel like my videos are actually helping people! DREADSPIRATION

  • your dreads are great! thanks for the journey :) check out my channel for other great dread vids ^_^

  • parabens seu cabelo fico lindo adorei seu clip

  • your dreads are very stunning c:

can you tell me how you did the colors? im not sure what they are either but they look awesome!

  • @420happybuttt thanks :) The colors are loose wool roving felted into the dread. I have a somewhat crappy tutorial on my channel of how to do it but I wanna make a new one soon

  • I *just* started mine, over the last few days. A bit of backcombing and crocheting. My hair is actually really long as it is, so I'm kinda curious how that'll affect them.

    Anyways, your dreads are awesome

  • @DieBlutgrafin They may take longer to fully lock up since you started them when you hair was long, but it'll all work out the same in the end, no worries :) Just stick with it lady, its sooo worth it in the end!

  • your so pretty

  • @joshhudgin why thank you :D

  • I love your camera tattoo.

  • @BellaDiL0 thanks :D It's my favorite

  • your drads are amazing and your process was great! the back ones dreaded up so nicely. ive had mine for 7 months now. i would love to hear about how you maintenanced them and everything. message me. thanks so much!

  • i love your dreads girl<3

  • @junglistbeazt thanks love :D

  • u have the most beautiful dreads i ever seen i went neglect too

  • @kingofspadez954 thanks buddy :D mine were started with backcombing. I wish I had gone with neglect, but it pretty much was... just gave it a tiny head start :P

  • awesome dreads! mine are like a month and a half now so yea still rocking the crappy messy look but nothing a good tam cant hide :P cant wait till mine are that long

    Peace

  • Need some TLC crochet hook

  • @policeman0187 I have tried using a crochet hook to lock in my loose hairs, but my drreads are too solid to really do this... I think it works much better on young dreads

  • -- > 3 years : Your dread is very beautiful . ( sorry for my english i'm french ^^" )

  • @KetaParty no worries :D your english is fine! Thank you for the compliment :) Check out my new videos. I'm almost at 4 years now

  • love : Jack Johnson & your dreads . 2:18 LOVELY <3

  • @ada3232 Why thank you :) All dreads are lovely love <3

  • i dont know what just happened. Ive only had dreadlocks for almost 5 months. You have had them much longer and watching that...it was like....it was like.....it was like a wake up call. Theres light at the end of the tunnel. and that light is called locked up and long. Wow. great vid. jah bless.

  • @havock202 Thats makes me so happy to hear that! Thanks man! :) My goal was to help people realize dreads take patience but its totally worth it.

  • awesome

  • nice lady!!! thats such a time commitment. i hope to keep mine that long.

  • @dreadheadhayley You should plan on keeping them forever :)

  • they are lovley!

  • @FRATPARTY thank you :)
