There is a much bigger snake in South America. Snakes have indeterminet growth, so as long as there is a steady food source and they don't get eaten, they will continue to get bigger during life. There is a snake in South America that is 50 feet long. It was on Animal Planet and they have great video. The only reason why we don't find such large snakes in the wild is because they are slow, usually get killed off by a predator, and most likely humans who fear them.

The one they found in Indonesia had been being worshipped as a god and was being fed canines and wild bores before they released him into captivity. They said when he would eat people in the tribe it was a sign they had angered him. Then some of them wised up. The second largest growing snake in length is a rock python then an anaconda which is a boa.
