Can't believe it's taken me song long to search for and enjoy EW's OST. The series OST is absolute gold for the most part and EW's OST certainly had some gems, like this one. What a piece.
anyone who dislikes this, ever, is a heretic and should burn! :P but seriously, this song makes me think not just of Gundam Wing but also of real-life wars and conflicts.
i tried to explain my feelings for this song....but it just cant..its too hard to describe.. everything about the beauty of gundam wing, its messages/morals and the memory of my childhood is all shown perfectly in this one song.
"So, as long as this peace continues, there's no need for Gundams."
The fact that Duo was the one to say that really makes this song for me: The pilots really want peace and are happy, but also a little sad at having to say goodbye to their dear Gundam friends. Damn, I love this show.
I literally spent 60 minutes looking for this exact song.
I remember watching Endless Waltz on Cartoon Network, and recording it on VHS later on to watch whenever my parents took us on road trips. Needless to say, Gundam Wing brings up fond memories of my childhood.
I think there is a feeling of resigned, gritty, desperate heroism to this song. It always reminds me of the final fight in Endless Waltz when Zechs, Noin, Quatre, Trowa and Duo are pinned down by hundreds of Serpent Customs as Quatre says something like "don't worry; we're pretty used to these losing battles."
