What possible research could justify such cruelty to animals? All you have to do is go to prisons all over the world and you can get whatever data you want from looking at humans! The only scientific conclusion we can come to is confirming what Heartless Bastards we humans can be!!
@sheffburger Yeah it's not just that though. those poor chimps were injected with AIDS so they could find a cure for people. People will never find a "cure" for AIDS or cancer because they would lose so much money. Infact they did find a cure once and destroyed all evedence so they could continue to make money. They get so much money a year from cancer donations it's sick!!!! and the only thing they do with that money is pay more bad guys to bring in animals to experiment on
We exploit animals for testing, probably beauty products for our own vanity..

30 years in the dark, and they forced them to watch television How cruel. Now if america could realize they have been living in the dark just as long watching television tell them lies everyday. how sad.
There's a bunch of them currently being tested at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Not sure if they have hundreds or what but most of them are affected with the AIDS virus and other such diseases and are being experimented on a daily basis there. This abuse continues to go on with the protection of the Federal government......as they are all caged and protected on a military installation.
@vinnys025 You understand that the AIDS virus is 100% recessive in chimps, right? You understand that they're the best hope we have of making it recessive in humans, right? Its obvious you don't otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned AIDS. Of course it probably wouldn't matter to you. Like most animal rights activists, I'm willing to bet that when we get right down to it, your really just anti-human. Questioning this study is one thing, but AIDS research? So many lives mean nothing to you.
@PUNISHERUltra Do you have any concrete evidence of this? Because I have evidence that when it occurs in chimps its called the Simian Imuno Disease & is harmless. There is evidence of this jumping directly from chimp to man. I also find it hard to believe they have a cure for a complex retrovirus when they can't even cure the common cold & all science points to curing viruses being impossible. The closest they could come would either be a vaccine or not allowing it to write itself into our DNA.

@PUNISHERUltra They didn't get tucked away. People talk about & research them all the time. Even if they were able to figure out how to replicate, what they've discovered is, a chromosomal oddity it wouldn't be a cure, it would be a vaccine. It wasn't 10 years ago they figured out some people are immune & others are super resistant, even allowing for only 5 years of steady before invention of the vaccine we wouldn't see it until after FDA (Fataly Delayed Administration) approved it.

@vinnys025 Like I said you give a bigger shit about a bunch of monkeys than you do people. You're not really pro animal, you're anti human. Now I don't want to keep you I know you have a dog show to poison, a farm to burn down or a cancer research lab to blow up.
weather they were kept in complete darkness or not, thats still considered torture to me.. Ever living thing should have the right to be outside and get their essential vitamin D from the sun..and not become test subjects
First of all, anyone who's not a vegetarian can shut up about animal cruelty, you hypocrite. (I'm not a vegetarian)
And second, just because they were kept indoors doesn't mean they were kept in complete darkness, because then they absolutely would be blind. (The animals in the video aren't blind) Science labs have lights indoors too, in case you didn't know.
Third, animal testing makes up an enormous, and critical part of the biological sciences. No one complains about fruit flies, though.
@dennist3hmenace No one complains about fruit flies because they have a much lower capacity for happiness and enjoyment of life, if any at all. You are a fucking moron. Not wanting to see animals mistreated doesn't make any meat eater a hypocrite. These are animals with only 1-2% difference in DNA who experience life almost as fully as we. Eating meat doesn't equate to wanting your food killed in an inhuman way and tortured for decades
@SuperfluousTrousers The chimps in this video lived a better life than some people on this planet. They were kept in shelter, with food and everything they need. And they even contributed to science! Plus, they've been freed to do whatever they want outside now too. I can imagine a worse life for a chimp than that. There is no evidence that these chimps were "tortured for decades." The hysterical over-reaction and disgust toward this video seems hilariously misguided to me.
Those chimps were prisoners in tiny cages who were subject to routine torture in the name of science. They were not well kept for, as anyone can clearly see from the way they look and act.
The first thing they do, while smiling, is hug.Hugging the other they are so happy, that they know now they are free.
You are fucking sick and should be executed after being experimented upon. Complain and we'll just say you are hilariously misguided ;-D
That is absolutely disgusting and horrible, there is no possible research value in doing that to chimps. all it proves is that chimps are really happy to be free after 30 years, there is no correlation to human behaviour.
How was that hug and those wide smiles for true emotions?! They couldn't believe feel of sunlight on their faces. That actually got me all teary-eyed! (and I'm a big boy now). These animal rescue people are our unsung heroes.
The (presumed) fact that we have greater cognitive faculties than any other species doesn't afford us an exclusive right to be secure from harm and imposition. That embrace at 0:10 is an expression of feelings that are no less appreciable than any human agony or ecstasy.
what kind of research is possibly attained by depriving an animal of sunlight for that length of time? well we found out that they were full of joy to see the light....ya no shit, how about another study to see if "researchers" react to pain if we pour hot sauce down their eyes
I heard a while back, while I was still a Michael Savage listener. He made a claim along with a researcher caller saying that research on Chimpanzees has cost taxpayers millions of dollars and have shown only little to no results. They has also provide abuse to these animals in which they are a lot different from human beings, rats and rabbit shows more comparison than apes.
Human beings defer their humanity for the sake of humanity? Makes perfect sense right? I no longer wish to belong to the human 'race'. It's going nowhere, fast. Time to make a quantum leap in evolution...
Unfortunately, this story has more to do with humans than the "freedom" of these precious beings. Our cruelty seems to know no bounds, it is hard to fathom... our cruelty to this planet and her inhabitants and our cruelty to each other, humans are like a blight in so many ways, thankfully there are good people out there working to change things for animals AND for people. More and more people will continue to add to that change as the evidence comes forward of our many and various atrocities.
I'm so glad to see they finally got out of that place, it's hard to think people are the Cruel Ones on the Planet and not the animals but it looks more and more like that is the truth.
does anyone have video from those being released from Guantanamo bay?

And second, just because they were kept indoors doesn't mean they were kept in complete darkness, because then they absolutely would be blind. (The animals in the video aren't blind) Science labs have lights indoors too, in case you didn't know.
Third, animal testing makes up an enormous, and critical part of the biological sciences. No one complains about fruit flies, though.
dennist3hmenace 5 months ago
@dennist3hmenace No one complains about fruit flies because they have a much lower capacity for happiness and enjoyment of life, if any at all. You are a fucking moron. Not wanting to see animals mistreated doesn't make any meat eater a hypocrite. These are animals with only 1-2% difference in DNA who experience life almost as fully as we. Eating meat doesn't equate to wanting your food killed in an inhuman way and tortured for decades
SuperfluousTrousers 5 months ago
@SuperfluousTrousers The chimps in this video lived a better life than some people on this planet. They were kept in shelter, with food and everything they need. And they even contributed to science! Plus, they've been freed to do whatever they want outside now too. I can imagine a worse life for a chimp than that. There is no evidence that these chimps were "tortured for decades." The hysterical over-reaction and disgust toward this video seems hilariously misguided to me.
dennist3hmenace 5 months ago
@dennist3hmenace You are fucking insane.

Captivity for 30 years in complete darkness.
Those MF should be jailed!
This is just PLAIN ol' animal abuse.
No reason whatsoever to do such a thing.

There so happy... Why'd it have to take 30 yrs for them to see outside...
JenniferLoni 5 months ago
That is absolutely disgusting and horrible, there is no possible research value in doing that to chimps. all it proves is that chimps are really happy to be free after 30 years, there is no correlation to human behaviour.
UnderseaCaveman 5 months ago
THIRTY FUCKING YEARS?
Seriously, there has got to be some intervention in how these research companies treat animals. What miserable hell.
chronDiggity 5 months ago
How was that hug and those wide smiles for true emotions?! They couldn't believe feel of sunlight on their faces. That actually got me all teary-eyed! (and I'm a big boy now). These animal rescue people are our unsung heroes.
st3ti3nn3 5 months ago 3
The (presumed) fact that we have greater cognitive faculties than any other species doesn't afford us an exclusive right to be secure from harm and imposition. That embrace at 0:10 is an expression of feelings that are no less appreciable than any human agony or ecstasy.
thinedoor2 5 months ago
Wow I almost cried :( lock up the researchers who did this along politicians and CEOs like that for 30 years please
Olawz 5 months ago
what kind of research is possibly attained by depriving an animal of sunlight for that length of time? well we found out that they were full of joy to see the light....ya no shit, how about another study to see if "researchers" react to pain if we pour hot sauce down their eyes
republicunderground 5 months ago
I heard a while back, while I was still a Michael Savage listener. He made a claim along with a researcher caller saying that research on Chimpanzees has cost taxpayers millions of dollars and have shown only little to no results. They has also provide abuse to these animals in which they are a lot different from human beings, rats and rabbit shows more comparison than apes.

30 fucking years held in darkness? "research lab" 30 years? really takes that long to research what? wtf is this bullshit, and fuck this reporter

Human beings defer their humanity for the sake of humanity? Makes perfect sense right? I no longer wish to belong to the human 'race'. It's going nowhere, fast. Time to make a quantum leap in evolution...
lucerfarul 5 months ago 3
Unfortunately, this story has more to do with humans than the "freedom" of these precious beings. Our cruelty seems to know no bounds, it is hard to fathom... our cruelty to this planet and her inhabitants and our cruelty to each other, humans are like a blight in so many ways, thankfully there are good people out there working to change things for animals AND for people. More and more people will continue to add to that change as the evidence comes forward of our many and various atrocities.
wawa2 5 months ago
now it is time for the chimps to put the researchers in darkness for 30 years.

When it's done to people, it's called torture; when done to animals, it's called research.
