  • walter025...you douche bag... the sell your land for booze comment was uncalled for, and you are a racist and by the way it is not equal rights when the land is stolen and exploited so yuppies like you can go out and pretend to camp and leave your beer cans and garbage for the wildlife....douche bag with his eyes wide shut.

  • i hate loons and cormerants, cuz i have seen what they have done to lakes and such, i pretty much live in the wild and not in a city, so my eyes and many other eyes are open, to how these birds work.

  • lol haha yeah it was delayed, but the email just showed up in my inbox last week, we have two diff oppinions on life, you obviously love loons and indians, and i obviously hate loons and want equal rights. stealing land and stuff you said,, come on, this was way to long ago to even get into,, im sorry, im not racist i just think it should all be equal rights,

  • why ruin the loons call with rock music ,,yak!!

  • @IroquoisBoys check out my loon vid

  • Loons eat the fish, and it takes hundreds of grams of fish to produce one gram of loon. Since one loon weighs about 5000 grams, this means it takes about 500,000 grams of fish to make one loon! so if all these loons are living on one lake and it is not just a stop for them in their Migration, one must ask how is the fishing in pipestone lake???

  • not meaning to be rude,, good vid for all of you that like the common loon ,, but in my eyes they are just another fish duck something like the cormerant,, they eat way to much fish in their body weight a day and are raping our resorses of fish ,, poluting our waters with their toxin in their crap , then again this is my opinion,, but the facts are true and the fish will decrease in this lake as years to come. they should open a 1 year season for 2 months every 7-10 years.

  • i'm not really sure exactly what you mean by the loons "raping" the fish supply unless commecial fishing is done in small remote ponds but... think what you want to. The cormorant, however, is in my eyes a parasitic species with and exponetially growin population and a hunting season needs to be opened. I wouldn't recommend eating them however, as i had the misfortune of catching one on my fishing line, and it was not the tastiest of waterfowl.

  • Loons eat fish--A LOT of fish. Almost-grown loons eat about 22 percent of their total body weight in food every day, while tiny, fast-growing chicks eat more like 40 percent of their weight every day. An ornithologist once calculated that it takes a ton of fish (that's 2,000 pounds!) to feed a pair of loons and their chicks over the a single breeding season.

  • sounds similar to the idiocy of humans who feed hundreds of pounds of edible grain to a cow in order to get one pound of beef. gee I wonder why people are starving all over the world? :)

  • if anyone is raping the fish supply it would be men, not animals.

  • so your telling me that their is no problem with the cormerant or loon? and sorry i must dissagree we grow the grain to feed the cows to eat the cows we are doing our part to live,, im sorry for thoes starving around the world but get a job or move to the bush and live off it instead of panhandleing for booze,, and for thoes in diff part of the contry stop making babies its as easy as that or someone should introduce safe sex to them instead of us sending one dollar a day.... send condoms

  • I would hardly call a loon (a natural predator) eating fish (a natural prey) 'raping'.

Nay. Instead, let's try colonial Europeans cheating and stealing lands from the Native Americans "raping".

  • Dont trade ur land for booze then

  • ... ... Why would you eat that? Ew.

  • @walter025 I don't understand your stance. The loon is a native species to this lake. Nature balances the 'toxin in their crap.' Nature DOES NOT balance all the pollutants humans dump into our waters. And your reply to my previous statement was (other than being quite delayed) also non-sensical.

  • Excellent!
