Seems contradictory, but when you get to a certain level, I don't think that musicianship is all about who is "better." It is about finding your individuality and being able to express yourself through the instrument (which both of the above and many others do extremely well).

I think you need to either mic your kit up properly or change the dynamics of the cymbals through the way you play.

Some nice beats however it doesn't look very relaxed, which is something that Beauford majors on!

Good, a bit heavy on the cymbals though. I really liked the #41 section. Carter is not an easy drummer to cover. Nice Job!! I like your kit setup. It's a bit like mine. What are you using equipment wise? (cymbals, drums) It sounded pretty good. It was a little loud and distorted in some spots but thats not your fault? Its very hard to get a good sound from acoustic drums w/o mics. Good Job!!!!!

I encourage you to search "Adam Rutherford" in youtube and find a mic'ed version of his jamming. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Carter would be happy that Adam watched and practiced what he was teaching! If Adam mic'd the drums it would sound a lot better. If he listened on his headphones, as Carter does, he'd sound more accurate. But, he does have skills!

Carter's my favorite drummer, and I'm a drummer myself - so I'm not talking out of my ass when I say this guy needs more than a mic'd kit to make him sound decent. Mics would make the kit sound better, yes - but they can't do anything for the drummer.

BUT, try to do something yours, not to copy Carter, even your setup is pretty much the same :p, I know he is bad ass etc. but it's better to be you#1 than Carter Beauford#9438123.

Fantastic playing. Although there is no fall back beat. If you are soloing you always need a strong beat to fall back on. The fast fancy cymbal and drum rolls are great, they all are extremely complex ect ect, although they get boring if you don't have a beat to back it up. If a audience was listening to that, where is the beat? For you, you'd know where the beat is but they don't. Good work.

dude, if those drums were mic'd they would sound amazing. they sounded great just with the camera Mic. The tones from the cymbals tend to overload the camera mic though. also nice playing!
