  • Oh yeah its supposed to make that sound. its a high power car wash idiot

  • Does scent matter? Or oh know white foam? hows that disgusting?!

  • @forsmers1 It smelled like moldy slime

  • 0:58 LMFAO

  • That really has to be replaced with a new PDQ Laserwash G5 S-Series.

  • that sucks and that happen to me before and they did not do any thing about it and my car is brand new

  • this thing is descusting it is like its voyager or r7b thats unatended

  • Were You On The phone With the Wash Owner?

  • @mpollux2 One of its designers, actually...

  • @hyvahyva you said mason. were you on the phone with the guy behind masonk1991?

  • It looked like the foam was coming down in globs insted of spraying!

  • geez your telling me.. my ryko softgloss does half the washes of my mark vii soft wash... the only one that does less is my vector... my customers hate these things! good luck with your pdq... not a bad machine...

  • Thats wierd, Ryko machines are usually good machines! But this place hasn't taken good care of the machine! Good video, ive always liked your "epic fail edition videos"! The dryers on this machine are cheap though, the water nozzle getting stuck in the dryers is a common accurance on these machines!

  • That Has to be the worst Softgloss I ever Seen I Used a Soft Shine Wash at Esso And It Did the Same Thing!

  • doue what hapend at the end when you said oooooo i hope i get this on film

  • What I'm referring to there is how the whole machine lurches and twists to the side as it finishes the drying cycle, as though it's trying to run right off the end of its track and slams the end stop on one side.

  • o oc groose it spit wax ooo grose 2:38 lol good vid tho

  • The Voyager II soft cloth machine I took a video of did something awful with wax... it left my car looking like someone sneezed on it. Well, really, it looked less like a sneeze and more like... something else... but I don't want to say what here on Youtube. (There's a different *tube for that kind of commentary. Haha)

  • that looks like that is scary what happend at the end of the video.

  • This video serves as a shocking reminder of when I come home from deployment, and I go back to Oklahoma City...

That infamous Softgloss XS-2 (Select-a-Wash) that haunts my nightmares... (shudders) THAT DAMN SIDEARM MUST BE DESTROYED FOR BREAKING MY MIRROR!!! >=(

  • @tbone2004 My select-a-wash in my town, it has a rinse arch. Huh

  • what the hell is wrong with that speed bumb

  • @ninjadude92584 Yeah, indeed. My first thought is it was a dam to keep water from running out of the bay (the blue Softgloss I've got a few videos of has this), but it's way too tall and slippery. The whole installation is complete and utter nonsense.

  • @hyvahyva 1:00 very funny

  • you are supposed to open the window

  • ...

  • Nope. In this one, it's a genuine, real, concrete speed bump. One at the entrance, and one at the exit. This one didn't have undercarriage wash, or any floor steel aside from the treadle switches.

I think the speed bumps might have been added to prevent water from drooling out of the bay, I dunno.

  • did u fix the damages

  • Yeah, it just required a bit of touch up paint on the rear bumper cover, and another wash to eliminate the SLIME that was giving me an allergic fit when trying to drive the car. (I used a Laserwash 4000 to de-slime.)

  • the top brush is spin-drying for dripping on the car

  • he was very funny

  • Ryko Autec Car Wash

  • Comment removed

  • What happened at the end? Because the camera turned off before you said what happened

  • My car emerged dirty, wet, and covered in bird doots and clearcoat protectant. The trifoam conditioner never dispensed. Also, when I drove in, it took the machine like an entire minute to try to find its starting positon because it was so damaged that the sensors had trouble finding the position marks on the overhead rail. It was a total basketcase.

  • I have to say though that Ryko systems are very durable. Has this one been in operation for many years now? It may have been over-used.

  • U live in Miami Florida i know why because i been there

  • Yes, I do.

  • Its really a old edition of Soft Gloss with Foam Brite the software won't work on it your will have to get one like Blue on the Tollway of the new one's at BP

  • 0:58-1:01

This is EXACTLY what happened in a Ryko Select-a-Wash I went through, which tore my side mirror off. I was REALLY upset, but it was a minor fix, the mirror that is.

I may have told you about it, hyva...

  • Oh, where it started moving without spinning up the brush again?

I have seen warnings at some Ryko washes here not to use them if your mirrors don't fold. Funny, they always seem to be there at the ones that are poorly maintained... hmmm!

In normal operation, a Softgloss (especially the XS 2) won't really do anything until the brush is spinning. This allows it to safely move without hanging on mirrors.

  • Or cars that have mirrors that can't fold. LOL

  • Surely, they replaced the entire system with a brand new one? Perhaps maybe the new Ryko Softgloss MAXX??

  • why would you even go through that? if you were on the phone with the manufacturer before you entered, obviously you could see how nasty it was. I live in a townhouse so I can't wash my own car. I go to the car wash like 3 times a week cause I am picky, but I won't even let the kids there dry my car and it wouldn't cost me anything extra.

  • It was supposed to work far better than it did, let's just say that much. I was helping them test it to determine if it needed to be taken out of service for refurbishment. The answer: YES

  • Did they at least fix the damage it did to your car? I was thinking about starting an automatic/self service car wash as a business and I know if my machine did that to someone's car I would offer to fix it as long as they had proof it was my machine (obviously your video would work for that). Of course I would maintain mine better. I wouldn't sell any service I wouldn't be willing to put my Ferrari through.

  • I didn't really care. My car's old. I fixed both myself anyway, while fixing rust spots.

That does sound like a good business plan... especially if you're in an area with a lot of apartments. Keeping the stuff well maintained will bring you lots of happy customers. As automatic washes go, I've always been impressed with the Ryko Softgloss series. If properly maintained, they won't do... THAT. The Sonny's BayWash and Istobal M9+ have worked nicely for me too (got a local distributor?)

  • I am still in a research phase for now. There are a lot of apartments near me and thats how I came up with the idea. I haven't figured out exactly what I want yet, but Ryko's entire line of various machines seem to work very well.

  • you were like this is disgusting lol

  • it just tried a wheel scrub in tha middle of the car

  • Yep! Dirty wheel scrub photoeyes...!

Admittedly, the inside of a car wash is one of the most hostile possible environments for any electronic equipment... let alone OPTOelectronic... EW! Istobal machines seem to be better about dealing with dirty opto sensors; I'm guessing they're a bit smarter about recalibrating on the fly when the sensor element gets gunked.

  • Those brushes look realll nasty... The foam soap that comes out at the beginning is normal, it's just for show, and then the soap comes out of the brush spray nozzles. Holy shit that's one fuxxored machine! You're brave for actually going through it!

  • it had old foam in the line at first, so it came out stringy looking, watch closely.

  • LOL
