He probably lovved animals, but didn't respect them, was always harassing and upsetting the wild animals, and of course these beasts had to defend themselves. The way he exposed his baby to danger that wasn't right. I teach my children to respect reptiles, insects, everything, but they don't have to pet a cocodrile or a snake, you pet a cat or a dog. He looked stupid most of the time, the way he talked and carried himself. He really was very irresponsible leaving two children orphans.

He helped more animals than almost anyone in the history of the world. He did look like an idiot most of the time but that is why we love him.

I don't understand how anyone believed that Steve was "irresponsible". He never exposed his bady to danger. I feel sorry for your children. Both of Steve's children know more about life than most of us, and both appear to be very happy. Steve was a great man, and was truely loved. I still miss him very much.
