  • 1000 volte meglio mondelci ancora lui il numero 1

  • This just takes me to a place that I could never describe....

  • all three are masters

  • Yes Indeed!!! Such beautiful playing and dialogue. Jan brings out the very best in anyone he performs with....For me, if there is a god/creator their voice/cosmic sound is the sound of Jan's horn! See him live was like no other musical experience I have ever had.

  • Miroslav Vitous is really fantastic!

  • wow...good to know...but nobody cares.

  • i hate u

  • A sound that stays with you for all time.

I love it!! Jan Garbareks Music a cup of coffee and a sunset over Land's End what more could a man wish for.

  • Awesome video. Thanks for posting. Great stuff. More if you can please.

  • anyone read the article in the Sueddeutsche Zeitung today about him?

  • jep. pathetic loser wants to shut down teh intarweb :)

  • unfortunatly, good musician but bad author of stupid letters, nevertheless publicity

  • who are the guys with him ? looks like Peter Erskine on drums but who is on bass ? I can't identify him but he's definitely very good !!

  • Miroslav Vitious

  • Ah yes. I should have known ;-) Thanks ! BTW it is Vitous not Vitious.

  • It is Erskine. Nice vid.

  • a master in his own right

  • I heard his 1977 group with David Torn(gtr), Michael Dipasqua(drums/percussion) and it was unforgettable for the dynamic range. The played from whisper quiet to metal band roar, when the good ship Garbarek was in flight. The trio above are, of course, from the STaR session. His sound IS immediately recognizable. Some sax players prefer a less nasal sound ...to me it just has a sound closer, at timeS, to a violin and ocassionally, almost trumpet-like.

  • he ist fantastic. once i hear him live (in hamburg 1991 - or 1992) and still renember the concert.

  • I have listened to many saxophone players and I have heard no other player with such a sincere mornful tone. Garbarek's expression has captured the moment better than any other sax player I have heard.

  • incredible sound...he has such a unique tonal quality.
