That was from the early white doo wop and R&B period dominated by Italian-American guys from the Tri-State area(NY, NJ, CT & Philly) between 1957-1960, which proceeded the doo wop revival that followed in 1961 onward and followed the black dominated period of the mid 50's.
As many times as I've heard this great record, had no idea this group was white, but that doesn't really matter. It's just a great record, and that's what's really important! Besides, I always enjoy listening to Jimmy "One Note" Wright get down with the sax!

The Echoes, The Teardrops, The Neons, & The Mints were all great examples of early white doo wop.
