I don't remember the BC names all that well, but the dude @ 4:00 standing in from of Jimmy Page, OBE, is sinning against the gods of rock music, and should be caned for that.
Crowes and Page. Does it get any better. Love Zep and this might be the only band around today that is almost as musically diverse and talented as the mighty Zeppelin.
I saw Jimmy play supporting his solo "Outrider" album. He was the consummate performer, introducing each song and thanking the audience. He knows his chops. Page, Clapton and Beck all took American blues songs - revamped them and unleashed them on on the world. The only thing that bothers me is most don't realize that these are really old blues classics. These guitar "Gods" are simply playing the music that they love and sharing it with us, But let's give credit where credit is due.
@nowheremanno9 : i totally agree! credit to the due, dude -- for the incredible innovation, and showing us what this new electric guitar thing could do. Page, Clapton, Beck, Hendrix, even the very early Stones & wee baby Beatles were covering, essentially, classic American blues. i'd like to crack into whatever vault that's got some of those recordings made by the CREATORS of this music.
no disrespect intended to our living legends -- but again -- credit where due.
Well, for one, there's a 50 song box set of called "Robert Johnson - The Complete Recordings". Very interesting, enjoyable and educational. In his case (he died at 24) it really IS all his recordings. Betcha' most libraries have it. That's where I got it.
It takes some balls to just step in front of Jimmy holding a Les Paul yourself and just do a solo while he's looking at your back. I'd be star struck.
Chris in a sleeveless ZOSO shirt... that is classic! It's like Gorman looking back on his kit set-up from the early 90's and thinking to himself "WTF?!"
dude, it's the back-beat...! If somebody can't get the right rhythm for getting busy with their rider when listening to this, then we as a species are doomed ! lol
My mothers boyfriend is in a local cover band and there guitar player use to be a guitar tech for the black crows. He would get up once in a while and finish the gig because sometimes there guitar player was so messed up on drugs!
I agree Jimmy is the best-too bad some kid never wrote he was God on a wall like they did for that poor pityful Schmuck Clapton-hell everyone is better than Clapton-Duane Allman,Jimmy Page,Mike bloomfield,Paul Kossoff from Free,Jeff Beck,Johnny Winter .I think Clapton got the sympathy vote for his kid dying and for him losing his wife and doin powder form of heroin for three yrs-what a pussy.
You could try for a thousand years and you'd never find a better fit for jimmy to do his thing with. the whole band took it on and just did what they do best with jimmy out front with crhis.
Never heard their version but it don't matter. No way it could be better any way. They sure have lost their bluesy roots cause that's where they got their start. the old stuff is full of it, pre-back in black
@deltamx What do you mean they don't have a blues sound? Listen to "Ride On" or "Show Business" or "Crabsody In Blue". And why do you think they're overrated. They are playing for more than 30 years. This wouldn't have happened if they were overrated. Cheers amd all the best!

No offense man, but if you keep standing next to the drums for most part of the gig, you want to stretch out a little at least when you're the one doing the solo. And besides, Jimmy Page was a brilliant guitarist once, not denying that, but here he just sounds so tired and wasted. It was the Crowes that made a show of these gigs, not Page.
