Ibanez. Probably one the best guitars in the world. Nowadays they seem to be over looked with all these new and non-mainstream guitar brands coming in fashion but what most people forget is that there is a reason Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Allan Holdsworth, Alex Skolnick, Pat Metheny etc use or have used these guitars. May not be everyones cup of tea but they should definitely not be overlooked. Hardly any other mainstream company offers so many HSH and trems guitars.

@Fluxx01 yeah, and what kills me is that my guitar teacher has an RG760 with an original Edge... that means it's from before 1992... and he's blocked the trem on it and treated it pretty awfully, so its wonderful bridge is being wasted... but oh well. i'd kill for that guitar, though. maybe one day he'll give it to me.

i need to get my hands on a Suhr, i think... some of my favorite guitarists play em. and i know the Gotoh Floyd is the closest thing to the Edge now.

@12yearoldyngwie1 when you roll the volume knob back, it takes a lot of distortion out. the "volume" knob on electric guitars is more of a gain knob.

also when you split the humbuckers into single-coils, a lot of distortion is lost, too. so splitting pickups + rolling the volume down, while having a distortion channel, gets you an almost clean sound.

also he could just be using different channels within the amp itself.

@metal101freak yeah they have some setnecks and neck-thrus. but they aren't Prestige models, sadly. i don't know why, but Ibanez doesn't make any of their Prestige models neck-thru. i really think they should, but i don't have any control over that.

but most of the RGA series is set-neck, and most of the X series is neck-thru, such as the Xiphos XPT700 and Iceman ICT700.

it is unfortunate that they only make their Prestiges in bolt-ons though. they're throwing away a really good feature.

I have an RG350M. It's extremely yellow. It's absolutely AMAZING for an intermediate guitar I've never heard better pickups, it has an Edge III tremolo.

Edge III gets a bad rap. I put a lottt of use to it, and it stays perfectly in tune.

770 has hotter pickups and more choices in terms of colors,like

Robin's Egg Blue and New Penny,the 770 also has the sharktooth

inlays which match the guitars color. Get a 770

@TheInvalidChronicles nothing at all, there's a scratch in the back but it's not really noticeable also the tremolo is set up so that it only goes down, but that improves sustain and tuning stability. it can always be reversed if you know what your doing.

Paul is so right about the 550, 20 years ago I owned a crappy Korean RG320 Ibanez while my friend had the 550, I used to love that guitar! If Id see one I would have to try it out. Years later, got a RG570 but it just wasnt the same, no maple neck and it didnt play or sound as nice then many years later found a classic 1990 550 for 500 bucks in a pawnshop, bright blue, maple neck and black hardware in great shape, played and sounded just as I remembered. Fell in love all over again. Mine forever

@numetal2011 RG350DX or RG350EX, largely the same apart from the colour. I've had an EX for 3 or 4 years with a few problems, but mostly a great guitar. Great action and really resonant and twangy.
