Thank you for the wonderful memories. May you rest in peace you beautiful, talented women. You lived long and achieved much. And you will never be forgotten.
I love them, always. I watch them everytime I need to be reminded that in a cold world, that there are warm people. Rest In Peace Estelle Getty, Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan, Harold Gould, and Lesile Nielsen. Thank you for giving me warmth from your talented lives made immortal by syndicated television.
Did anyone ever see the English version of The Golden Girls? They were meant to be in Brighton, and they just did the exact same dialogue as the originals!!I remember watching the very first episode, which was the pilot of The Golden Girls...Sheila Hancock was in it,as Dorothy if i remember well enough!!It was completely awful, and totally UNfunny...which just go's to show that these actresses (Bea/Rue/Betty and Estelle, were absolute masters of their craft, and worked pure magic together!!
Shows are not even close to as good as this anymore. It's shameful really. Thanks girls for giving us a gift to last a lifetime. All 7 seasons are tucked beside my DVD player where each day I get a real good laugh from real talent that no longer exists.
Just a thought. I noticed between the interviews and the actual show, Estelle Getty's voice sounds different. In the interviews, she sounds more normal.
My sister and I have an unwritten agreement that we don't watch the series finale because we both bawl like babies when we watch it. And by the way, we're 24 and 22.
