You can get them with a pickup. $1k is fine for this guitar. No worries about humidity or any of that environmental stuff. It will last, if you don't run over it with a truck. Plus, they don't cut down 300 year old trees to make them. I'm not a snob, I have guitars made from old trees but I think that being environmentally aware is a plus. It sounds great. I'd expect to fork over some bucks for it.
they're not supposed to be affordable, just compact and able to travel.. but yea, that is a big price though. i myself have a washburn rover. its pretty awesome
i have an la patrie motif and it was pretty affordable and 3/4 in size. but 1000 for a travel, is better off spent on an better sounding full body gutiar. plus do u really think u would travel with such n expensive guitar?
I personally wouldnt travel with an expensive guitar, but u know, some of these people are loaded and CAN but yes, dont worry, im on the same boat as you too.
this might seem like an odd question, but at around :41 what were you playing? i really liked the sound of it. and if it was original, could you give me a list of the chords u used? id really apriciate an answer, i really liked the way u were playing
i have a legacy composite acoustic (dreadnought sized), and it packs a bigger boom than any wood guitar out there, but doesnt have the best sustaining sound. the smaller one here has the initial power of a dreadnought, but dont expect to get those wood guitar ringing notes.
The video's just reversed. If you look at :34, you can see that the CA logo on the headstock is backwards. And, as someone else said a few comments below, the flag on his shirt is backwards.
I'll be buying one very soon and have researching as much as possible, but wanted to hear more than the short clip on CA's website since I will be buying online. The green is much lighter/nice than other photos have let on.
Dude, that's really sweet! They even have a lefty, eh? Are they expensive?? Same price as a Baby Taylor?? Case included? Can you get a pickup in it? Thanks for the vid!! -Derek
@jipleary1 I'm guessing it was recorded with a Macbook. Photobooth automatically flips the video so it is a mirror image for when you are chatting with people.
Not so much a travel guitar, more a parlour-sized instrument. Great sound though but you've got to have a deep wallet.

its a "travel" guitar because it is made from carbon fiber (Basically unbreakable) for traveling back packers

Dude..........is that a LEFT handed CA Cargo???? I've been praying for almost a year that they would make one, or is your video backwards somehow?
BlueDogsRock 2 years ago
these are the composite acoustic guitars.
they are made fully of carbon fibre
no truss rods, as they dont bend, and humidity doesnt affect the guitar cause its made of carbon fibre
and the hole at the top of the guitar makes the bass louder, and the sound is directed to your face

Travel guitars are supposed to be, guess what, travel guitars.
An expensive travel guitar sounds good, a cheap travel guitar sounds bad, just like any standard guitar, good sound has it's price.
Also, $999 is fine for a guitar, quality guitars will cost you a good $2000+.
Kaoskadosk 1 year ago
Sounds quite good. Is that a carbon composite body?
Didn't expect a travel guitar to sound this nice.
And does it have in-built pickups? (i.e. can be connected to an amp)

How is the volume in this little guitar? Is it comprable to a deadnaught-sized guitar, or less?

How well does the Cargo stay in tune? I have a Baby Taylor that goes out of tune so easily and it's hard to deal with at times.
Thanks!

Hi Cougarman
So how do you like the Cargo after several months? Is it a nice fingerpicking guitar?

Any idea how this compares to the "Blackbird" Carbon Fiber Guitar?
I'd like to get the ultimate backpack guitar. I already have a CA bluegrass model and love it.

thats a pretty big travel guitar, dont ya think? lol i tried out a carbon fiber acoustic, and it was amazing in the low notes, and the bass lines.
ferrarimk13 3 years ago 3
it`s actually the same size as a baby Taylor. I have seen pics of the two side by side
leeasam 3 years ago
It's 3/4 sized... you can put it in the overhead when you carry it on to a plane, so it's convenient. I wish I had one.

The guitar looks great. It is a bit pricey but it's carbon fiber after all and it must be by far the best sounding travel guitar :)
