For all those who's Android wont connect with the software, you have to install the drivers off the HTC website. Message me and I will send you a link.
EASIEST SOLUTION in order to sideload NON-MARKET APPS if the “Unknown Sources” is not available to click. ”Call ATT (611) and ask to speak to someone in the PMC dept. When connected to them ask them to send you the sideload update from the Xdm link. They will send it while u r on the phone. Once it arrives a window opens and ask for permission to install…after clicking YES, go to MENU > SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS and check "UNKNOWN SOURCES" and your good to go. Credit goes to ALAN for this fix.
it wont work for me it says "No device connected. Please be sure your Android device is connected and USB debugging mode is enabled and try again." and i tired again and it said the same thing please answer back thank you.
it doesnt work for me whenever i try it, it always says no device connected please be sure your android device is connected and debbugging is enable and try again, i keep doing the same thing but nothing works i did the same thing as you but it doesnt work
@EnigmoEnigmo but u can just connect the phone to the computer then put the app on the phone then just download it from there. no need to download all the drivers and stuff
Question is- How can I (or is it even possible) to do this with an un-rooted Nook Color? I can get 99% of what I would want with the NC stock now. But if I could get the apps, would it be possible to do and still leave it otherwise alone?
Thx in advance if you can help - The Best 2u - C.H.
@GacheletHimmel Hmm i havent really worked with any Nooks before, but if its on android firmware 2.2, 2.3, or 3.0 then it should work. give it a try and let me know the results
@Chris49xx - This Method works, but it'll prevent you from changing your wallpaper/ringtone etc until a restart is done. - Once restarted it'll take a bit for "WebRoot" or "Weatherbug" etc to show up in your notification bar (Seeing as you cleared their settings - You'll have to re-sign into Webroot)
Aside from unable to send Picture Messages and the things I listed above - I didn't find anything else wrong with my phone. - HTC Inspire
@p1zl3 they did an update and now You can install unknown sources. But this method works when you want to beta test an app you designed or had the file of an app exactly that you couldn't .find from the market
@EnigmoEnigmo Yeah, I updated my phone last night (both htc and at&t method) and still didn't have that option available, so this workaround was necessary for me.
I still seem to have problems making the Android Injector function properly though. It finds my device, but refuses to install any of the apps I have downloaded. The debug info is completely useless as well.
@EnigmoEnigmo I found the problem actually, and yes I did have my drivers installed. For some people, it does not work if you have your phone set to "Data Transfer". I switched it to HTC Sync and it worked flawlessly. Instaleld N64oid on my phone and played some Ocarina of Time.
Thanks for the video! Will send it out to all my friends with an HTC Inspire 4G (Like 20% of my school has it now that everyone found out that the iPhone sucks cock)
@ComradeNF thanks for telling me and everyone this. I was getting sick of people just coming to the video and giving me no information and just saying "it doesnt work help".
but swype doesn't work because once you put the swype on the phone you have to install it. through the phone, and the dumbasses at AT&T locked the phone up so you can't do it.
but there is a video on how to install swype on the HTC Inspire. it should be in the related videos.
@dbleak81 ok exactly what is applanet? is it a website or is it like an app market? cuz if its like a market then its not working because its a third party market.
My phone says the debugging is conneceted. I did all the steps to downloading the android injector as well as the 4Shared. And when I click my file and click install to device, the injector tells me that my debugging isnt connected. Help?
@xXMikeXxOO7 do you mean caught by AT&T or HTC? no. theres no way of telling that you sideloaded them. however if you get online with the apps there may be a slight chance of getting caught. but its very slim.
@xXMikeXxOO7 the only way your phone will get bricked is if you download an app thats malicious. but malicious apps usually have more than 9 mb of data. if its more than that then i suggest not downloading it
do your phone have to be rooted ?

Here's a workaround for the missing "Unknown Sources" option on AT&T htc Inspires:
Just type the following into Google (quotes and all) and the forum entry will come up: "[EXPLOIT] Unlock The "Unkown Sources" Option".
^I just followed the instruction and the option to accept 3rd party apps appeared. Thumbs-up if it helps you too!!!

Hey when I go to install an app (I chose Doodle Jump) It says "No App Files Selected"
I have it on Charge Only and have it USB Debugging Connected... Don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've tried Charge, Mount Disk Drive, and HTC Sync
JetLife719 9 months ago
@JetLife719 only thing i could think of is these 2 things:
1. Check to make sure its an .apk
2. The app file may be corrupt. try another Doodle Jump file.
