Sensei benny The Jet - Had accomplish a totality in martial arts - and in the full contcat arena - very few can say they did it all - He can - oos Gallijess
200 fights/0 losses/6 championships. No other fighter in history can claim that, and Benny doesn't even mention it. He is as close to a master of martial arts as you will ever see. He never fought under Thai rules, only because he considered the act of throwing an elbow a deliberate attempt to kill someone, and where there is a premaditated attempt to kill, it stops being sport combat, it becomes warfare combat. And he never believed in that. But I'm sure he would still be undefeated if he had.
200 wins? He did not have even 70 fights. If you combine his point fighting record, the total win would be more than 200, but he wouldn't be undefeated. In his professional record, he had two legitimate losses, one of which was to the Thai boxer. And in that particular fight he requested the omission of elbows, and he lost the decision and refuse to avenge that loss.
He is respectable person. Almost all of the people who think he is fake are never attain certain level of martial art. Grand masters, champions & higher level of martial artists respect him. Remember, rules rule win or loose. He entered to Thai rules. Is there any Thai enter to today UFC rules? If, then, let's see the result. Benny knew take down technique & Jujitsu. He mastered about 10 fighting techniques. Respect him.
Benny was an amazing fighter and a onced in a lifetime phenom. He is a unique human being who just always loved to fight and compete. After each of his fights he would say, "The glory goes to Jesus or God." He is and always was, willing to help someone else when he could.
Urquidez fought in three bouts which were eventually ruled no-contest (NC). The first, in Los Angeles in March 1977, was a nine-round NC (WKA) against Thai boxer Narongnoi Kiatbandit. The second and most controversial fight was against another Thai fighter, Prayuth (sometimes spelled Prayoud) Sittiboonlert in August 1978 in Tokyo, Japan. The fight was ruled a six-round NC (KATOGI). Finally, Urquidez fought to a seven-round NC (WKA)
this dump ass lost to thaifighter, but here again he lied ,he almost died after fighting a thai fighter in Japan.he would have been dead if fought under full muaythai rules.
2submit loves to give flack on Benny Urquidez. He does it almost in every vid. If he knew knee-ing and elbow-ing is concerned, I'm sure he would use them to fight Muay Thai. A more devastating result would pan out.
Benny is one of the best martial art fighters in history. To say someone can take him down now. Well, that is the case if you like fighting people that are getting old, and don't have the same speed, stamina, and power they had in their youth. I ask people to really search more about him, go go wikipedia, search google, watch videos. What else can you ask a fighter with a perfect record, a fighter that will go overseas to fight anyone, and will win against all odds, a world champion.
Actually it was ruled as "no contest"... wasn't a win or a loss. After watching that particular fight, it was only a matter of time before Benny was going to pound the shit out of him. The momentum clearly shifted when Benny kicked the dude in the ribs. The muay thai guy might have landed a couple of shots in the beginning rounds, but they were weak.
Forget about all those "no contest" nonsense. Urquidez lost the Thai fighter in Tokyo in 1978. It was the 2-minute, 6-round fight. But some credit should be given to him since he went the distance with the heavier Thai opponent.
this guy is a FAKE!!! He came to the Buraikan kickboxing tournament in Tokyo last year. I was unimpressed by his fighters, plus american kickboxing sucks. long freaky pants? no elbows, the japanese call it kickboxing too but totally diffrent rules and ways of fighting.
How does the difference in the clothing really bother you? My god, what if he was from a colder climate, and was more comfortable in longer pants? Are his pants really even relevant? He won a lot of fights in his day.
This video on the other hand, is a merciless experiment in advertising, and will thus be rated a one out of five.
Urquidez never fought in Thailand. He was decisioned by the top-rated WELTERWEIGHT in the 2-minute, 6-round fight in Tokyo,Japan,in 1978. Since he went the distance with the heavier Thai, the rematch was offered, but he declined.
There are rumors that he did fight in thailand and has blemishes but we're not sure. Until that's proven, he'll be undefeated. You have to keep in mind that he fought in various weight classes and he eventually had a hard time finding opponents.
