Hold REC and press "L" or "R" ("REC TRACK"). They're simply 2 tracks that are played together for the given user song (e.g. "User 2"). The 4 quarter-note bars will flash together. If you start playing notes now, it will automatically start recording to either track L/R. Or, you can press "START/STOP" to start recording now (silence at the start is kept). "L" and "R" show up if recorded and unmuted. When not recording, press L/R (without holding REC) to mute/unmute the tracks.

Can you tell me the octaves you play with left hand? Also, what chords did you do on left hand? playing octave ranges make it hard to see. Also, I can pretty much do by ear the right hand except for the added notes so can you tell me the right hand sequences?

If it was a simple cable using phones output,than in other end of cable how many jacks are? And how did u connected to pc? and how did u recorded! ....through standard sound recorder from windows, or u used another program?

Well, the soundcard I have has RCA (phono) inputs, so the cable I use has a headphones jack (3.5mm) on one end, and 2 phono jacks (red and white) on the other end. You can get cables which have a 3.5mm jack on both ends though, for soundcards which have a headphone socket-style line input. Also, since the headphone jack on my keyboard is the bigger sort, I used a big (1/4 inch) to small (3.5mm) adaptor.

As for recording and editing audio, I always use the freeware program Audacity for that.

Erm, whether you have something connected to MIDI Out or not has no effect on the sound which the keyboard makes. It sounds this way because Sustain is turned on on the keyboard. Thanks, though - I'm glad you like it!

Oh, I see what you're saying. It's not a software synth on the computer which is creating the sound, though, and neither have I filtered/EQ;d the sound on the computer; it's the keyboard which is creating the sound itself. It sounds the same with headphones connected directly to the keyboard.

Also, it wasn't a MIDI cable which I used - it was simply an audio cable from the headphone output of the keyboard.

Don't worry, I can't read sheet music either. xD

Most of the point of me showing the view of the keyboard was so that people could actually see the notes which I was pressing, perhaps so that they could learn which keys are used. If you're going to do that then I suggest watching it in non-HD, because a lot of computers struggle to play HD smoothly (you can still clearly see each key without HD).

I'm not using anything to change the sound - this is how the keyboard is capable of sounding by itself. I have "Sustain" turned on - this makes an effect half-way between using no sustain (the default setting), and using a sustain pedal. You can find the setting for it in the list of functions (by repeatedly pressing "Function").

Press "+" to turn it on, "-" to turn it off. You can use those buttons to cycle through the values for most options. For some options, you can type numeric values with the number buttons. ;)

Yes, my left hand is positioned at a weird angle so that I can alternate between the two notes for each chord (one note, and then the same note on the next octave up) without having to repeatedly slide my whole hand to the left/right a little. Basically, it looks weird because I'm lazy. xD

@xyoshibakax: Well, I think they're no longer being produced (it was already like that when I got mine). ZUN gave AngelType permission to make only a limited number, and so they are fairly rare. The advice I was given was to keep an eye on eBay, especially for items with "Buy It Now", because those usually go for cheaper than bids (I saw bids for one exceed $130, months ago), but also much quicker. The thing is, it can take time for the items to appear. But perseverence pays off in the end. =D

Well, my keyboard's keys don't have the so-called "graded hammer effect" (designed to feel heavy like real piano keys), so they don't take much effort to press.

About 5 years ago I had keyboard lessons for a few months, lol (also, it's pretty different from playing the piano since the accompaniment is automatic). I got my current keyboard in August last year and only started attempting to play piano things on it near the beginning of this year, learning by ear (I can't read sheet music, orz).

Oh no, if you ever happen to want to learn to read music sheets search in Google for this: "Ricci Adams' Musictheory"

It's a good place because also has trainers to help you read the notes faster (and various others useful trainers).

But also playing at this level just by ear sounds pretty impressive thing to do.

I don't have any teachers and most of what I learn is from my own and some from the Internet, same for guitar but I've played that for a bit longer.
