@pimpinbunny Thank you so much... That means a lot. A lot of it really isn't talent so much as emotional honesty I guess? I have had a kind of crazy bumpy life... So I have a lot of pain, joy, love, and loss to draw from when I play. :)

alright, i'll try to explain. a lot of your timing vocally is inappropriate for the song. you'll linger on a word for too long before going onto the next. you're also singing in kind of a whiny, country style, which is just never good in my opinion. 1:32 does a good job of summarizing my dislikes. this is all just one man's opinion, of course. a man who likes his blind pilot.

@SoIncrediblyHigh Yeah the whole country thing is sort of in my blood from living in Nashville for too long... Any kind of Folksy solo thing ends up naturally getting that vibe to it. It's interesting hearing this opinion, because I purposefully hung on words for longer... Mainly I guess because it's my natural style. Good to hear feedback, and THANK YOU for being more detailed and honest! I too love my Blind Pilot, but I also didn't want to do a straight imitation.
