You know when im angry or depressed, i grab my acrylic and start squeezing them on a canvas and i use my fingers instead of a brush. abstract is a great way of expressing oneself.
I dig it! Great use of color and space. Did you have an idea of the composition you were going for when you started, or did you let it simply flow out of the way the colors came together?
I try to start each painting with a basic concept for color & form. The composition develops organically, but I always try to stay true to the original inspiration for each piece. Essentially, I have a plan, but it's open ended.
i dont hate abstract art as a whole. but i feel like since abstract art doesnt represent reality in terms of shape and form, the artists should make use of the art elements and create a HARMONIOUS painting. some people just throw on random stuff and thats i think is wat degrades abstract art.
It's great to read such open minded thinking, as most people are rather suspicious of abstract art. Recognition of color combinations is definitely a step forward into a much larger world.
Oh, Studz McSexy, you are one complicated fellow. I noticed on your page you trashed a bunch of Abstract painting videos, then you "favorite" some River Phoenix thing & an Eve 6 video. Curious, McSexy. Curious.
This looks very good i wish i could do this, i really want to try but i dont know if i am good, i usually just draw, i can feel the creativity inside but i just dont know what should i do?
Thank you. My advice is simple: buy paint (acrylic), buy a canvas, paint the canvas. Whether you're painting from life or from your imagination, if you don't like it, you can just paint right over it.
@drsplatterthrash666 just try it and have fun. typically people make MANY things before they get something they really love. but it's fun to create, so don't let critics hold you back.
It seems like I've been an artist for as long as I can remember. I've been creating artwork since I was a boy. My devotion to abstraction came about in college--15 years ago.
@nickfrancoart I can totally relate. I have been creating since the beginning of time : ) I have always had a love for abstraction since high school, I'm just naturally drawn to it.
As an artist .. there isnt anything called UGLY to my idea. People who have no idea, nor dare to ask and educate themselves on the big subject of ART should better not post stupid comment really. This is an interesting subject .. well done nickfrancoart .. keep discovering your talent and dont give up .
I've been learning sketching and acrylic painting for only a few years now, and I feel that this painting is amazing. People that put you down just have no clue how much imagination it takes to create a wonderful piece of abstract art as you did. Nice work ^^
i find it amusing that those leaving negative comments of how little talent may be involved have no talent of their own displayed on their own channels.......
hmmmmmmm.......
is it lack of talent or fear of non-constructive criticism that hinders them?
Well, it is the internet after all. People feel the need to voice their opinions, regardless of the knowledge or understanding of what they're criticizing.
Agree with you 100%. I am 18 myself right now and I make abstracts. When I was small I thought it's nonsense and that anybody could do it. But in reality it takes skill, passion and true talent, you have to feel the colors the combination and harmony. You and the painting have to become one, it's not just about throwing the painting all over the canvas. Abstract is true art because you create something that never exists or ever existed before.
No reason to apologize. Some of us prefer something more traditional, while others tend to be more open minded. You just need to attempt to bridge the gap, even if you happen to reside in the Bob Ross school of thought...Sorry.
@nickfrancoart I LUV it!!! Freedom of expression......Diversity is the spice of life :o))))
Keep doing what you do...express yourself through art, being open minded and creative...lends itself to learning, loving and accepting all things that surrounds us :)))) ***Cheers N Smiles**
The painting is titled Sever. I wanted to create a piece that had a clear dividing line between the colors, where the organic blue "thread" cuts the painting into 2 parts. It's about the act of separating, or severing, yourself from something--painful, but necessary.
well im not into abstract art in fact i don't even know why im commenting and understand if u hate me for being rude. but this isn't towards u personally but i don't understand how you tube lets some guy swipe brush across a canvas that doesn't become very much of an image in the end and gets promoted yet when i paint(digitally) i don't get jack squat not even for painting the president of the united states...
anyways i kinda enjoyed watching thanks for sharing.

@nickfrancoart hahahah, nice one. eve 6 is definitely the mark of a genuine artist! ........ hahahaha
a lot of people must not understand that people have to start from somewhere.
not everyone started painting in gradeschool, not everyone needs to talk shit like a gradeschool kid on the internet either!

With all due respect, you are sadly wrong to say this is disappointing. You really have no idea about the price some piece of work like this can sell!
I really find his work very inspiring. And very beautiful.
But we are talking about art here!! Nothing is disappointing in art. Even something ugly has a value of its own.
