Awesome presentation here. I unfortunately have been in them shoes myself.
The officer chose to listen to the lies of an 11 year old girl whose brother had previously tried raping my daughter and decided it was okay to taser a disabled man on his own property and my wife witnessed the whole incident.
Peoria county Illinois police department needs to be investigated. I have had them here 4 times in the past 3 weeks over lies being told by a girl up the street from me. They do not care HELP!
Just like you or I the police have a right against self incrimination, so it is critical that their contract have a compelled testimony clause in it. The union will kick, scream, and threaten to walk out, but the wall of silence the police use to defend themselves must be brought down. Eugene is a small town so a group of 50 well versed advocates can go door to door and educate the public.
The thing that is needed is a police ombudsman with the authority to subpoena witnesses, take compelled testimony, and launch independent investigations. Without any oversight the police department is just another example of absolute power corrupting absolutely. The 3 powers of investigation I have listed are critical and nothing short of this is satisfactory for any major community. City governments kowtow before the police union so the matter must come before a vote of an informed electorate.
What does the law in US say about taser use? Life and death situation or when it suits them to get things done with less effort/risk (for themselves)? Why can't they stick to the allowed use? You know why, I think it's to easy to use and allegedly harmless, and it doesn't leave marks thus proves, it's the tecnological version of the old "beat the nose and forehead with a phonebook" routine...
The Police Auditor took my report after I was handcuffed, hogtied and beaten by the police, including having my head slammed into the ground several times by the EPD.
I received a letter today that the EPD internal affairs will investigate this!!!!! Sergeant Jerry Webber, who can be reached at 682-5126, will be investigating his OWN officers for this report.
How can there be justice when this is the protocol? The wolf guarding the hen house!
Too many cops today are cowards. They are little guys who never got any respect in high school. Once they get a badge and a gun, not to mention a Taser, they go around spoiling for a fight. Not a real fight, of course, but one they know won't hurt them.
That said, if we citizens KNOW they are cowards, we should take pains not to scare them. That way, they won't need to attack us.
No, it's not the way a free, rule of law country should be, but use your brains. Never frighten a coward.
There are no cameras in the single cells in the Benton County jail in Corvallis, Oregon inmates in the hallway saw what happend to me but were told they were not allowed to be wittnesses or get involved. I was tazed while calm on my bunk then beat, strapped, handcuffed, and shakled in a restraignt chair in the cell & they still kept beating me then heald a tazer agenst my neck for 4-8 mins while laughing. They knew my medical hystory, and tried to kill me even said I was lucky that day!
I was beat by Sherrifs deputies then strapped in a restraint chair also handcuffed & shackled at which point they beat me more while I was in the restraignt chair. A deputie held a tazer agest my neck piercing my juggular veign in my neck while other deputies pushed my head & neck agest the tazer for 4-8 mins in the Benton County jail, Corvallis, Oregon. They laughed, and said I was lucky they didnt kill me nobody would represent or help me agenst them I still suffer. It was a year ago or so.
@AntiNWO6996 4-8 minutes would cause cardiac arrest. If you are going to fabricate lies at least make sure they are believable. plus im sure they had a reason to restrain you.
I'm not a leftist at all, but this police torture and being above the law needs to stop. There is a problem with law enforcement officers not respecting the supreme law, which in case you forgot, is the Constitution.
Voice is irrelevant? Ahh now that has the smacking of a police state, enjoy that for me, and the uhh beatings, torture and death that accompanies that. Good to know moofaba that you support freedom of speech!! oh wait, you don't, go live in north korea for awhile, and uh stay there, I think you might like it.
typical answer of ignorant people. your arguments are over, so discredit the people. easy, right? But, at this very moment, teh US empire is collpsing, and Brasiil is rasing, and you will learn a little bit more about humanity. Sorry for you, fella, you are so lost!!
@papuette Lmao Brazil? Texas has more money and Military force than Brazil. Im sorry but the US is still the biggest superpower and just because of a lil recession which I cant even tell is here, doesnt mean the end of an Empire. We have been through 17 recessions since 1930 so sorry that ur country is in a constant depression but we will always be fruitful so get used to it asshole

oh WOW it's a "he"? I didn't know that American police officers in THIS decade used the taser on MEN...I thought it was only for women and children. When I think of dangerous, fully grown MEN I think of when a GROWN MAN shot up Virginia Tech and NOTHING was done about it...because there was a ONE percent chance that ONE SWAT team member MIGHT catch a bullet from A FUCKING PISTOL...30 people had to die.
What does this video even prove? Nothing. All you are hearing is a persons point of view about a particular event that we dont get to see. To say what she is saying is correct or true is wrong without hearing or seeing the other side of the story.
The police are spineless cowards who hide behind weapons. No excuses should be made for these scumbags. The only thing they deserve is a sound beating.
tipical american argumentation. You make me sick. Nodoby has the to torture people. Easy to understand?
American freedon is only for a few. We have more freedon in Brasil than in America. (your movies show that, also internet, made by americans) I am sorry for your poor existance. Americans are powerfull, but their heart is a solid rock. Fuck the rest of the world, right?
Papuette, you're right. Nobody should torture. Ever. That used to be our law in the U.S.A. One time we had honor & courage. Now? Now it's OK to rage on a kid with a suspended license, then shoot him with electric shock when he's laying on the ground. Or shock someone in handcuffs or while others are holding him down. Here, many comments say "it's OK". But it's not OK, it's very sad & disturbing ... why is it OK? How do people learn that behavior like this is OK? church? school? parents?
It is not a "right" to resist; it is a duty to resist when one feels one's rights are ignored or trampled upon. If one is not willing to fight for her/his rights, then he/she will lose them.
Our countries founding fathers and mothers greatest fear (look it up) was not from a foreign power, rather it was a fear of their own government.
Our court system has a civil process for people who are unlawfully arrested. One needs to look no further than then newpaper or news to see that when a person is wronged they can sue.
also srry for double posting but they video taped the entire event but they are withholding the tape up to the incident so there is something they dont want us to see
@shippox0 Well does that mean cops can summarily take you and beat the shit out of you and tase you? If you think that then Hitler aint got a damn thing on this shit, because it will hit the fan.
There are many, many developed countries with far superior judicial systems compared to the US.
For me it's less about 'resisting arrest' and more about 'resisting arresting'. There are far too many PD's ignoring basic rights and common sense in some moronic attempt to show the populace who's got the ultimate authority. Unfortunately, given the inbred and political nature of American law enforcement this is unlikely to change unless those in charge, us the people, demand it.
I live in Eugene Oregon. I know first hand what the EPD is capable of how they abuse it. There is far too much fear and discrimination in the police department. Peaceful activism is all that was happening, and anyone who is coming out and speaking their minds is immediately profiled, i have seen it time and time again. So before you immediately discredit what happened at Kesey Square, maybe you should open your mind a little and look at the other point of view.
if u call this abuse.... wow who gives a fuck. as for the hippies in the tree why dont they stop deforestation instead of a couple of campus trees from being taken down
I was an eye-witness and Carly is telling the truth.
Those people who weren't present at the incident yet insist that eye-witnesses are liars seem to have a clear agenda and I'm not really sure why they think their opinion matters...
Nah, they don't really have an agenda. They just can't, for obvious reasons, find a girlfriend. That's why they get so pissed off at people that they know, deep down, are superior to them in every way, especially sexually.
Either that, or Daddy forgot to log off the computer when he left the room.
Good Job speaking about what happened at the rally even though you have the facts wrong. At least Ian is smart enough not to lie about what happened. He knows it will be used against him when he goes to court. It is very brave of you to lie for your friends. GOOD JOB!!!! Carly
Cops have a job to do.Nobody that I know fears the Police.I really doubt that the cops decided to personally target a total stranger for no reason.Seems like alot of talk but nothing else.
She speaks well but it's opinion and her feelings. I would have liked to heard some facts from both sides.
And fyi--it's a common misconception that the police have to read you your rights upon arrest. Miranda rights only have to be done before they interrogate you.
I think she is an eloquent speaker and very brave to be a spokesperson for peace and change. It takes a lack of character and nerve to hide behind a nasty text comment like JamesTCA. It takes alot of courage and spirit to speak out for what is right. Good Job Carly!!!
If Ian really was waving that applicator at people, especially cops, saying "do you want poison in your face?" He deserves everything he got. It's no differnet than if he was waving a gun around. How are people suppose to know whether it's just water or not?
Yeah, he deserves to get tasered. I can see you put a lot of thought into coming to this intelligent conclusion. Great argument. Do you prefer Fox News, as well?
I prefer knowing the entire sequence of events before I believe anything. I don't take anyone's word for concluding anything. Where's the rest of the footage showing Ian getting tackled and a allegedly resisting arrest? You don't have that video to show do you. Fuck you and your conclusions.
Excellent video. I applaud your effort to try and keep the police honest. We have a very big problem in this country with the abuse of power. It is a very big problem and I respect your willingness to confront it. More people need to be aware of the abuses of power that are taking place in this country.

Most of the videos dont ever let any one know what happened.
