Cannabis is potentially mildly psychologically addictive for individuals with hereditary predispositions to addiction, and for individuals who frequently ingest copiuos amounts without a medicinal need (1). However, cannabis is the only illicit drug which has the potential to actually promote the growth of new neurons (i.e. brain cells) opposed to destroying them (2), and it also is the only illicit drug with anti-cancer properties (3). ...
Haha. Acting is cool. That was funny. I love it when people try to teach me about my heroin addiction. Some people have all the psychological answers, yet with no success. Ready for the truth? I took it because it was fun, then I was physically addicted. Nothing to do with the size of my ass.
For Christ sake, take Ibogaine and be finished with it. 100s of people were ready to tell me this same methadone clinic-language on the video. I wish one of them had told me about ibogaine.
Hey everyone, I too am an opiate addict. I was using IV heroin everyday for over 4 years. I got on suboxone at first without insurance and had to pay $7 per pill for 90 pills per month plus Dr. fees, which cost a lot per month just to stay clean. I've since gotten great insurance which allows me to get all my suboxone for free and I have a lot of extra suboxone scripts left over. I am willing to help anybody out who wants to get clean but doesn't have the funds to do it. Send me a PM
What is the difference between those two "addictions"? Many people will say its because marijuana is a "drug" Now I could go on for hours about this topic but sadly there isn't enough space on youtube comments for me to do so. I recently got the PS2 game Shadow of Colossus and I can't stop playing. When I'm not playing I wish I was, is that not an addiction? The other drugs listed in the video all cause some sort of withdrawal when prolonged use is stopped, but with marijuana that is not so.
"Addiction" is such a vague word. What makes something addictive and others not? When you have a craving for a certain food is that an addiction? Is it possible to get addicted to anything depending on the individual at hand? I was discussing the topic of marijuana addiction with a friend and he stated that because I smoke everyday, therefore I am addicted. One of his hobbies is dancing and I asked him if he does it daily and he said yes. I told him that was an addiction but he disagreed.
i do plenty of drugs, not through stupidity or not knowing how i work but rather because im curious.....to each is own...stop being so involved in other peoples shit ;)
weeds not a gate way drug who we go to buy it is the gate way,the drug dealers, cause weed can be strong as hell, people say,oh this weeds not strong enough, nope you just got a hold of some wacky weed, witch probably wont even get a baby high(don't let your baby's smoke weed, that's just wrong, lol) and if you keep getting getting weed and cant get high, its not time for crack its time for another dealer, cause that dealer giving you bad shit on purpose cause crack and all that's more expensive!
Maybe you should add nicotine (the most addictive drug) and alcohol to the list while your at it? By the way I get addicted to video games very easily. Maybe we should ban those? Why don't we just ban everything that has potential to be psychologically addicting. Which would mean everything in existence. Come on people think for yourselves for once in your life and stop believing everything that comes out of the propaganda mill.
Why is marijuana on this list? You must be seriously dumb if you can compare cannabis to heroin, meth, or crack. I've known opiate addicts, speed addicts, and heavy pot smokers. The most (only) enjoyable and happy of the bunch: pot smokers. That includes me, and from personal experience I find that weed has a reverse addictive trait. I only smoke when I have time to kill or when working on art.
my dad is adicted to weed he trys to quit but he just get angry an SICK he has been smokeing for 36 years an he is lmost a profestonal body builder hopefully it will be leagal soon
The effects of marijuana use include: memory loss, distorted perception, trouble with thinking and problem solving, loss of motor skills, decrease in muscle strength, increased heart rate, and anxiety2. 2National Institue of Drug Abuse, Journal of the American Medical Association, Journal of Clinical Phamacology, International Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Pharmacology Review.
@jenn1ifer get your facts straightened up. Marijuana has no long term effects other than "frying your brain" wich happens to ppl who go beyond their thereshold when smoking (i.e.: a guy that is just starting out smoke 2-3 grams at once will have his brain fried due to lack of tolerance), but that is still a short term effect, and only ahppens to ppl who dont know what the fuck their doing :P
@jenn1ifer distorted perception, loss of motor skills, increased heart rate, decreased muscular strength, and anxiety are all mainly experienced WHILE high-they are not long term effects, so not necessarily 'bad.' if the pleasures of being high outweigh the temporary incapacitation experienced after smoking, are they really relevant? (also, i recognize that some HEAVY users may experience more severe memory loss while sober- but that does not occur in light (responsible) users)
@jenn1ifer Also, it helps to compare it to socially accepted and legal drugs, such as alcohol. Differences in short term behavior are startling- Users of alcohol are notoriously overconfident, and very frequently make terrible life decisions while drunk; while smokers generally keep to themselves while high, and rarely make extremely irrational or violent decisions. Long term problems are much worse in alcohol as well, such as liver and heart failure, and nerve damage (all can be fatal).
@jenn1ifer however, marijuana's only long term effects can be general memory loss (and weight gain, depending on how your body responds and whether you get the 'munchies') Neither of these are fatal or even all that harmful, and as I said before, general memory loss only occurs in particularly heavy users. Just so you know, i don't mean any of this to be spam or hate, you're just the first person I've seen to actually argue against marijuana with facts, and i wanted to respond in kind :)
@jenn1ifer "In summary, since adult hippocampal neurogenesis is suppressed following chronic administration of opiates, alcohol, nicotine, and cocaine, the present study suggests that cannabinoids are the only illicit drug that can promote adult hippocampal neurogenesis following chronic administration."- Cannabinoids Promote Embryonic and Adult Hippocampus Neurogenesis and Produce Anxiolytic- and Antidepressant-Like Effects/ The Journal of Clinical Investigation 2005/ PMCID: PMC1253627 ...
@jenn1ifer ... "In conclusion, these experiments show that mice appear resistant to behavioral sensitization of the locomotor-activating effects of THC. Even after systematic variation of several experimental parameters such as the frequency of THC treatments, exposure to the test apparatus during treatments, and manual vs automatic recording of activity, we failed to detect any sensitization. Furthermore, an experiment in rats using a published protocol also failed...
@jenn1ifer ... to demonstrate sensitization. It appears that this phenomenon may only occur under very particular conditions, raising doubts about its relevance to chronic cannabis users. At the very least, it can be concluded that the phenomenon appears much less robust after repeated cannabinoid exposure...
@jenn1ifer ... compared to psychostimulants or opiates."- Lack of Behavioral Sensitization After Repeated Exposure to THC in Mice and Comparison to Methamphetamine/ Psychopharmacology (Berl). 2007/ PMCID: PMC2637562
@jenn1ifer Add: Marijuana effects every individual user in an other way. Some may have psychoses when they first use marijuana and other use for years without the slightest loss of sanity. Everything you name are short therm side effects that will go away in time. Only decrease in muscle strength is reasonable, but if you figure out that sitting on you ass also decreases muscle strength it turns out to be bull.
@jenn1ifer all i can say is did u even give marijuana a chance did u do the research have u tried it do you honestly believe all the propaganda about it in 10 years max when its legal i hope you realize its not dangerous
@jenn1ifer i can honestly tell you i am getting A in science A in Socials B in English B in PE, I never did that good till i started smoking weed it freed my mind and relieved me of my stress the only thing i did worse was in PE which i use to get A's in athletes shouldn't take weed but people who have a hard time concentrating should.
@jenn1ifer weed is the greatest plant on earth. expanded perception. makes you smarter, better motor skills and better and thinking and problem solving. it the greatest thing on earth
@jenn1ifer Try thinking for yourself instead of copying lies from a government website. They want it illegal for many reasons so obviously they are bias.
@jenn1ifer Trouble with thinking and problem solving? well I have been smoking weed on and off for about a year now and have noticed that this has been my best academic year, and seeing as I am doing an engineering course I think it is essential that I smoke marijuana occasionally and in moderation. Also the memory loss is just during the short euphoric 'high' that you get from smoking marijuana and saying increase heart rate is pretty pathetic tbh. Excersise also gives an increase in heart rate
@will9469 Drugs affect people in different ways due to individual biochemistry. I smoked pot for about 3 years and those three years were a waste. I would not do it again. I know people who do regularly smoke weed and function fine, while others are zombies or retarded. Each to their own.
@jenn1ifer I have add, and anxiety. Marijuana has completely gotten rid of both. I have had 2 anxiety attacks in my life when I was much younger. I have taken ritalin as well, and I couldn't sleep or eat. Ever since I have been smoking marijuana I can concentrate, eat, and sleep better. Stick to the natural side of life, not unatural government made drugs.
rofl im smoking hash oil and I was like LOL WTF? when all the nerotransmitters PINK BLOB PEOPLE got killed by the herions? WELL IM ON SYNTHETIC HERION RITE NOW SO SCREW U CAUSE I got my wisdomteeth taken out.
@itsmillertime86 try not smoking. it's pretty easy. i smoke a lot erryday and can still go on family vacations or whatever without weed and be preoccupied and not feel withdrawal. there's a difference between addiction and solely psychological dependency
@itsmillertime86 it technecly is but its a mental addiction.when you use it you feel happy and loopy and everything feels better and different. but when it starts to wear off, you feel normal and your body isnt used to it so it feels like you need more. and dont say i dont know this cuz i smoke too.
@itsmillertime86 how are you addicted? i dont mean that sarcastically, i want to know how it feels when you try and quit. cause i think theres a difference in wanting it and having a few withdrawal reactions, but nothing you cant live through vs. having withdrawal symptoms that make you feel like your dying and you dont know how you can get through it and if you had the choice between the drug and everything else in life including life itself you would choose the drug. The latter is a true adict
@itsmillertime86 The addiction comes from a chemical called "dopamine." Some chemicals in cannabis stimulate the brain in ways similar to Ritalin. The only withdraw symptom your body produces is a "speedy" feeling that will fade away after a week of two.
Other symptoms are projected on your body because you THINK you are addicted. But the only person that says so is YOU! IT IS ALL IN YOUR HEAD!
I watched this movie in rehab, I fell asleep everytime we watched it. I was kicking so hard.
I hated the movie though, everytime there wasn't shit to do... they'd make us watch this shit. it was a beautiful house in Malibu by the beach. we could've just went to the beach instead.
Bahaha the cutscenes and animations are so dry balls, I mean wtf is wrong with the way the lady talks, and the fucking sound it makes when she hits the toothpaste, it's a goddamn whoopie coushin
@Brakinator If you watch the whole film the animation fits in. Yeah, it's basic, but it gets the point across.
As for the way she talks? She's deaf, & I think she does a damn good job of speaking words that she's mostly never heard. I forget her name right now, but she was in Picket Fences back in the 90's, & in an incredible movie called Children Of A Lesser God.
@deleriumm Deaf you say? Well yeah I was mistaken about that, but weed isn't addictive, it has no addictive toxins or properties, the only people who get addicted to it are people who use it as an emotional crutch because whenever they get sad they're just looking for weed and say they're "addicted", when the fact is anybody can be addicted to anything, it just depends on your personality, and even then it's not technically being addicted, it's just craving and there's no withdrawl suffering.

lol don't fight kiddies...the person defines the power of addiction..I have seen people kick herion but not cigarettes. As to being weak willed...LOL..some of the greatest...most powerful people in human history have had addictions. Nothing to do with being weak willed.
by the way for all you morons out their, thats the rating system given by two scientist ask to give a list of the most addictive to the least addictive. but you all can proceed to blast these facts and rely on police for MEDICAL ADVICE.
4 of my best friends are coak addicts my sister smokes meth and my brother shoots up so i know what i'm talking about here. Also after all this you can't imagine how many drug experts i have talked to so i'm telling you that weed is addictive if you only smoke when you are depressed. i used to smoke pot everyday but as my school work got hardder it turned to 4 times a week then 2 times a week then 1 time a week now 1 time a month and there is really no physical or mental difference with me.
weed is addictive! just beccause it is not physically, it can be mentally, there for it is. it depends on the person so shutup saying it isnt addictive. im addicted to being high cos its so chilled!
@ggrws addiction is only bad because all it means is the people are doing whatever drug constantly, so you might not be a marijuana addict but if your doin it constantly you'll have the same short-term memory issues, I'm a cynosure of weed myself but on occasion (ounce a month)
@ggrws Your fukin retarted bro weed is all natural and is not addicting just because its really fun doesnt mean its addicting its like video games there really fun but you dont get withdrawal if you dont play the same as weed if you dont smoke you dont get sick or nothing dont listen to this guy smoke weed all you want it does nothing but good i mean god put it on this earth for a reason rite haha
@ggrws well your just weak minded if you become mentally dependent on a substance lol. just like i'd become bodily weak because if i'm dependent on a wheelchair because i'm a paraplegic.
basically. i have a handicapped body, and you have a handicapped mind. Congrats :D
Lol your a fucking moron i smoked weed since I was 12 and smoked daily since I was 13 and I quit for legal reason about 2 months ago with no withdrawls other than ice creme like temptations so it sounds to me like your just a bitch
Marijuana does not have physically addictive properties, so thats retarded. This all obviously comes from some person who has never touched a drug in their life.
ya probley because it was laced idiot, it's not hard to stop smoking marijuana there is no pyshical addiction, caffeine is more addictive then marijuana, your just weak willed, you probley complain about how your addicted to video games and need to go to rehab. YES they actually have a REHAB center for video games, it's called I'm a weak coward with nothing to offer the world and a spoiled brat who doesn't want to earn my keep.
lol you sound pritty pissed, i must have struck a nerve, do people call you fat ass all the time fat ass, if you couldn't quit food no wonder you couldn't quit pot.
@pottalk1 ya i will just go buy a $1,300 ticket and fly their to get in a fight with some redneck over a youtube comments, your fucking ridiculous. did you even read my comments or do you like to talk tough on youtube to impress the ladies, your a fucking joke stop messaging me.
@Crazyman1212 pot and alcohol are both very addictive and i would love to beat the shit out of you. trust me you have no clue what your talking about or who your talking to....
lol okay whatever buddy, I know exactly what i'm fucking talking about and threatning is a last resort for people who have nothing to further add to a conversation they have been beaten in, so you lost again. piss off!
@MisterKewlz I actually used to be addicted to it. I was a big stoner not too long ago and found it hard to quit. I don't defend marijuana one bit, because it actually made me more dull, less motivated, fuzzy memory and not to mention stupid(even when I'd be sober) but hey thats how it affects me and I still say the same things I said back when I never tried weed.
@MisterKewlz Nice to see a few ppl understand the difference between chemical and mental addictions. Thumbs up to you and the other 12 ppl who thumbed your comment up!
@conservative1100 lies??? man you are brainwashed. and it's not bad for your mental health. the smoke is. use it with a vaporizer and it's not harmful at all. You have no clue what you are talking about.
-There is no convincing scientific evidence that marijuana causes psychological damage or mental illness in either teenagers or adults
-Some marijuana users experience psychological distress following marijuana ingestion, which may include feelings of panic, anxiety, and paranoia. Such experiences can be frightening, but the effects are temporary.
-With very large doses, marijuana can cause temporary toxic psychosis
BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA and cigarettes and alcohol are worse why are they not in the title? and uh FYI POT AND MARIJUANA ARE THE SAME THING DOOR KNOB SHOWS HOW MUCH YOU KNOW ABOUT DRUGS!
and please i smoke weed every day and have quit for a few weeks lol its not hard you don't feel ill you just need to break the habit.

Kirbyluver2 1 year ago
"Addiction" is such a vague word. What makes something addictive and others not? When you have a craving for a certain food is that an addiction? Is it possible to get addicted to anything depending on the individual at hand? I was discussing the topic of marijuana addiction with a friend and he stated that because I smoke everyday, therefore I am addicted. One of his hobbies is dancing and I asked him if he does it daily and he said yes. I told him that was an addiction but he disagreed.

Raelsatu 1 year ago
Why is marijuana on this list? You must be seriously dumb if you can compare cannabis to heroin, meth, or crack. I've known opiate addicts, speed addicts, and heavy pot smokers. The most (only) enjoyable and happy of the bunch: pot smokers. That includes me, and from personal experience I find that weed has a reverse addictive trait. I only smoke when I have time to kill or when working on art.

@jenn1ifer The information you read it out-dated
Andrewmw17 1 year ago
@jenn1ifer get your facts straightened up. Marijuana has no long term effects other than "frying your brain" wich happens to ppl who go beyond their thereshold when smoking (i.e.: a guy that is just starting out smoke 2-3 grams at once will have his brain fried due to lack of tolerance), but that is still a short term effect, and only ahppens to ppl who dont know what the fuck their doing :P
Maelkenar 1 year ago
@jenn1ifer yes, although you have to realize
* These effects only last for a 3-4 hour duration after inhalation
* The only listed effects here are negative and
* ...all sources of this information are government funded (what a coincidence)
18daniel 1 year ago
@jenn1ifer distorted perception, loss of motor skills, increased heart rate, decreased muscular strength, and anxiety are all mainly experienced WHILE high-they are not long term effects, so not necessarily 'bad.' if the pleasures of being high outweigh the temporary incapacitation experienced after smoking, are they really relevant? (also, i recognize that some HEAVY users may experience more severe memory loss while sober- but that does not occur in light (responsible) users)
MrMrStratocaster 1 year ago
@jenn1ifer Also, it helps to compare it to socially accepted and legal drugs, such as alcohol. Differences in short term behavior are startling- Users of alcohol are notoriously overconfident, and very frequently make terrible life decisions while drunk; while smokers generally keep to themselves while high, and rarely make extremely irrational or violent decisions. Long term problems are much worse in alcohol as well, such as liver and heart failure, and nerve damage (all can be fatal).
MrMrStratocaster 1 year ago
@jenn1ifer however, marijuana's only long term effects can be general memory loss (and weight gain, depending on how your body responds and whether you get the 'munchies') Neither of these are fatal or even all that harmful, and as I said before, general memory loss only occurs in particularly heavy users. Just so you know, i don't mean any of this to be spam or hate, you're just the first person I've seen to actually argue against marijuana with facts, and i wanted to respond in kind :)

Excersise also gives an increase in heart rate
will9469 5 months ago
@will9469 Drugs affect people in different ways due to individual biochemistry. I smoked pot for about 3 years and those three years were a waste. I would not do it again. I know people who do regularly smoke weed and function fine, while others are zombies or retarded. Each to their own.

In my case, i sometimes don't want to use this drug for free because it's boring for me now.. Im trying something better.
SHNetnis 11 months ago
@itsmillertime86 it technecly is but its a mental addiction.when you use it you feel happy and loopy and everything feels better and different. but when it starts to wear off, you feel normal and your body isnt used to it so it feels like you need more. and dont say i dont know this cuz i smoke too.
MrPeaceLoveWeed 11 months ago
@itsmillertime86 how are you addicted? i dont mean that sarcastically, i want to know how it feels when you try and quit. cause i think theres a difference in wanting it and having a few withdrawal reactions, but nothing you cant live through vs. having withdrawal symptoms that make you feel like your dying and you dont know how you can get through it and if you had the choice between the drug and everything else in life including life itself you would choose the drug. The latter is a true adict
stewwiii 10 months ago
@itsmillertime86 The addiction comes from a chemical called "dopamine." Some chemicals in cannabis stimulate the brain in ways similar to Ritalin. The only withdraw symptom your body produces is a "speedy" feeling that will fade away after a week of two.
Other symptoms are projected on your body because you THINK you are addicted. But the only person that says so is YOU! IT IS ALL IN YOUR HEAD!

Pot IS addictive.
deleriumm 1 year ago
@deleriumm Deaf you say? Well yeah I was mistaken about that, but weed isn't addictive, it has no addictive toxins or properties, the only people who get addicted to it are people who use it as an emotional crutch because whenever they get sad they're just looking for weed and say they're "addicted", when the fact is anybody can be addicted to anything, it just depends on your personality, and even then it's not technically being addicted, it's just craving and there's no withdrawl suffering.
