I still have a working copy of this game that I bought from a friend back in school for £3. And I agree, it is a moving song, always makes me feel sad when I hear it; I wonder where my friend from school is now....
I cant count the number of days on end end I've spent playing this game... Great times. But I have two serious questions that have perplexed me for years all because I was always too hardcore to refer to a cheat manual. I'm finally ready to cave in... 1. How do you beat this game? 2. Is it even possible to beat this game?
1. I think it depends on what you want out of the game and your personal goals. For me, having my small town turn into a bustling metropolis was the end game.
@adjulbic And yeah there should be a repeat option on Youtube it's so annoying to have to click on repeat every 3 or 4 minutes when there's a track or whatever that you like and want to watch or listen to it again...
most of the time playing this i stuck to one little section of the map grooming my little village to perfection. i didn't want the big city, i didn't have that crazy ambition, i just wanted my little neighborhood with all my happy little inhabitants..
Who here has been sitting for a long time trying to understand and get ideas, for how to build, by observing and analyzing the image above.. I used to do that often aswell as enjoying the game to the fullest..
I loved this music too, It was my favourite music in the game. I used to play it after school and at the time, I had this huge crush on a girl and I'd feel all emotional lol. I feel somewhat emotional these days when I hear it but it's more because of nostalgia, wonderful game, wonderful memories.
I know how you feel, my friend - I would play this game when I was in my Army barracks, on a Friday night in the cold winter, longing for a relationship that had died so long ago - Your post brought up some lingering feelings of nostalgia -
when i was younger i had no idea how to play this game and my dad tried to help me but i failed. (i was only like.... 5.... 6.....) but it was fun... sort of.. i remember the crazy scientist dude
@MisterShuckle Actually I just recently happened to load both the SimCity and Earthbound soundtracks into my player at the same time, by chance, and realized just how similar they were after playing the SimCity songs after the Earthbound ones.
To make things worse some kid stole my snes with all of my games in middle school. I aksed him for it back a month ago but I guess he "Lost" it. so now I need to buy a new snes and buy this game.
I love this song. So relaxing, one of my favorites as a kid growing up. If game developers these days only knew how important a game soundtrack was, it really helps make a game classic.
Yeah. All the bloom effects in the world can't make me cry like Mother 3's soundtrack, or get me ready to do some good fighting like the Tales of games soundtracks.
@fatface111 Nowadays developers are putting "real" music such as R&B artists and such, rather than putting the time and effort on making an original score.
@fatface111 Music's very important, fellow internet guy. Video-games has the perfect combination: Music, Visual, interaction! We just need developers that can actually focus on that instead of MONEY.
i got this game and the snes during Christmas of 1991. I did not stop playing Sim City for months on end when i was a kid. Hearing this song brings me back to a time i did not have a care in the world. What great memories this game brings.
I can't seem to find my copy of Sim City... I got it from a place called Video Castle, a place I had fond memories of... Now that I realize it's missing, this song just makes me sad... D:
This piece is so reminiscent of the Christmas I got Sim City for the SNES that it's hard to believe so much time has passed. Who here remembers Mean Machines magazine?
