  • Loved using that $999,999 cheat!

  • I still have a working copy of this game that I bought from a friend back in school for £3. And I agree, it is a moving song, always makes me feel sad when I hear it; I wonder where my friend from school is now....

  • this is a sad song i want to cry

  • I cant count the number of days on end end I've spent playing this game... Great times. But I have two serious questions that have perplexed me for years all because I was always too hardcore to refer to a cheat manual. I'm finally ready to cave in... 1. How do you beat this game? 2. Is it even possible to beat this game?

  • @justinhendersonmusic

    1. I think it depends on what you want out of the game and your personal goals. For me, having my small town turn into a bustling metropolis was the end game.

    2. See answer #1. :)

  • This was my favorite BGM in the game. I miss my quaint little village/town... :)

  • I have this stuck in my head when I'm doing math work. It somehow makes me slow down instead of rush.

  • what's up fellow 90's gamers! time flies huh? hearing this takes me back...

  • are you a bad enough dude to dislike this video?

  • @entropy44 Whoa! We got a badass over here.

  • Youtube should really implement an endless loop button for these tunes...i could listen to this hours on end...

  • @adjulbic Solution: Put "repeat" between the youtube and the .com of the url and hit enter. PROFIT!

  • @adjulbic That's because we already have listened to it endlessly when we were playing...

  • @adjulbic And yeah there should be a repeat option on Youtube it's so annoying to have to click on repeat every 3 or 4 minutes when there's a track or whatever that you like and want to watch or listen to it again...

  • So this is where Herman Cain got his tax plan from?

  • Chill....... Chill.......... OH crap Guy, TRAFFIC, GODZILLA, FIRE..... Wanna another casino?

  • most of the time playing this i stuck to one little section of the map grooming my little village to perfection. i didn't want the big city, i didn't have that crazy ambition, i just wanted my little neighborhood with all my happy little inhabitants..

  • 0 Dislikes - just as it should be. :)

  • this makes me want to destroy my capital back down to village status

  • This would sound really nice on a saxophone. I hope someone makes a jazz version of this.

  • Sounds like Amish music.

  • I want an extended version (NOT edited/orchestrated/remixed).... FOR 31:00!! WHO AGREES WITH ME?!?!

  • @MandyLandy62 MANDYLANDY62 FOR MAYOR! =D

    Town name: songville

  • WOW, i completely forgot about sim city! im so glad i found this. REMEMBER THE RANDOM ASS FIRES THAT WOULD HAPPEN!? haha good old days :(

  • I'm going to university now, and for some reason, i'm happier now after listen this song :)

    Good times

  • Who here has been sitting for a long time trying to understand and get ideas, for how to build, by observing and analyzing the image above.. I used to do that often aswell as enjoying the game to the fullest..

  • This music is why I never was sad when I had to start my city over from scratch.

  • :*** sniff

  • I just nostalgia'd

  • This song makes me feel like soaring through the sky with birds.

  • OMG, the memories

  • Never knew sim city had great music...well, I like the song. :)

  • I remember playing this when I was younger. This music brings back a lot of memories.

  • This great tune makes me want to never leave the village stage.

  • @hobosorter I would actually avoid leaving the village stage for the exact same reason.

  • Whenever me and my girlfriend get a baby, I'm gonna play this tune. It would make a great lullaby :)

  • I loved this music too, It was my favourite music in the game. I used to play it after school and at the time, I had this huge crush on a girl and I'd feel all emotional lol. I feel somewhat emotional these days when I hear it but it's more because of nostalgia, wonderful game, wonderful memories.

    Thanks.

  • @Shodan1440255

I know how you feel, my friend - I would play this game when I was in my Army barracks, on a Friday night in the cold winter, longing for a relationship that had died so long ago - Your post brought up some lingering feelings of nostalgia -

    Thanks!

  • Whenever I played SimCity and the town ended being a village, I always though "damn!". Because the music ended!

  • @chirolaboy

That's true, I loved the Village theme. We just didn't hear it long enough in the game because advancing from the Village stage happens pretty fast.

  • ahh back when games were about music and creativity, now its all about the graphics....

  • This song just took my heart and beat the fuck out of it with it's nostalgia hammer.

  • All it's missing is the train in the background. :)

  • This song always makes me feel sad.

  • DooDoodooooo Sim City DooDooDooooo Simulated City

  • Sims use to be so great... it use to be about building a town!!!

  • What a song! So serene yet filled with the sadness of memories of playing this game years ago.

  • this song reminds me of my past as a kid when i played sim city

  • I love this song

  • when i was younger i had no idea how to play this game and my dad tried to help me but i failed. (i was only like.... 5.... 6.....) but it was fun... sort of.. i remember the crazy scientist dude

  • In my opinion, this game has some of the most awesome music ever! :D

  • For some odd reason, this reminds me of Earthbound.

  • @MisterShuckle hell yeah that was one of the best games of all time and this song is reminiscent of it.

  • @MisterShuckle Actually I just recently happened to load both the SimCity and Earthbound soundtracks into my player at the same time, by chance, and realized just how similar they were after playing the SimCity songs after the Earthbound ones.

  • I hated this game, but loved this song. I use to say "I cant build towns with a sad song like this".

  • Wow this brings back alot of memorize, I cant thank you enough man.

for some reason this sound track always made me really sad when I was a kid :(

  • @Gmancrap really? it made me feel relaxed :P

  • My parents split when I started playing this song. haha I know depressing.

  • The only thing I can say to you is, well, 'There there'.

  • @Gmancrap - Same here!! lol. *Sigh* brings back memories

  • To make things worse some kid stole my snes with all of my games in middle school. I aksed him for it back a month ago but I guess he "Lost" it. so now I need to buy a new snes and buy this game.

  • So it begins... destroying every last living Tree on the map!

  • Yeah, that part always depresses me.

  • The personification of humble, carefree escapism.

  • this can make you cry happy tears due to the reminder of the good ol days playing this.

  • @MrNintendofan1985 ahh so very true. Well said

  • Even though i never made it far into the game, this was one of my favorite songs. It's just so relaxing.

  • not even 2 seconds into the music i heard bulldozing and construction lol.. i miss this game, i still have it :D

  • I love the little jingle at the start, it's like the game is saying 'Here we go again! Get ready to have fun!'

  • Nice. Come back when you're not ten.

  • I love this song. So relaxing, one of my favorites as a kid growing up. If game developers these days only knew how important a game soundtrack was, it really helps make a game classic.

  • Yeah. All the bloom effects in the world can't make me cry like Mother 3's soundtrack, or get me ready to do some good fighting like the Tales of games soundtracks.

  • @fatface111 Nowadays developers are putting "real" music such as R&B artists and such, rather than putting the time and effort on making an original score.

  • @fatface111 Music's very important, fellow internet guy. Video-games has the perfect combination: Music, Visual, interaction! We just need developers that can actually focus on that instead of MONEY.

  • @kescores

    I totally agree

  • @fatface111

    ;)

  • Ah, I love this game.

  • Oh the memories i want to be there again =/

  • ^^ So nice.

I got a Saturn later with Sim City 2000. Was cooler cause I could sent Police forces out when there was a riot.

I allways build up a lot of Police and Hospital buildings ^^.

Got a Pro Action Replay for infinit money ;)

  • i got this game and the snes during Christmas of 1991. I did not stop playing Sim City for months on end when i was a kid. Hearing this song brings me back to a time i did not have a care in the world. What great memories this game brings.

  • If my house had a soundtrack, this tune would definitely be track #1!

  • Ah the world of perfectopia that exists only in the realms of maxis and Will Wright...

  • Tune reminds me of some Earthbound tracks that were very down to earth and homey- Onett, Twoson, and Ness' house come to mind.

  • Yeah I can see the relation. Good call.

  • this was the first game my mom buyed for me.

  • I used to play this game soooo much.

Really scary when a disaster music comes up randomly though...bowser attacks were scary back then.

U'd think ud get tired of this song...but after 10 years its still awesome and sentamental. :')

  • It kinda has a "Home-like" quality if you think about it. Great Music. Just Great!

  • the song of the village stage sounds so.... humble and peacefull

  • i want my childhood back

  • so do i

  • I can't seem to find my copy of Sim City... I got it from a place called Video Castle, a place I had fond memories of... Now that I realize it's missing, this song just makes me sad... D:

  • Get it on the Wii Virtual Console.

  • But it wouldn't feel the same, I'm very sentimental about my games, plus, like I said, I got it from a place that meant something to me.

  • LOL, I remember building to this... I feel so relaxed and sleepy...

  • Me too LOL

  • THis game is FUCKIN HELLS DEAL!!!

  • I love sim city and the music.

I used to play it when i was younger.

  • This piece is so reminiscent of the Christmas I got Sim City for the SNES that it's hard to believe so much time has passed. Who here remembers Mean Machines magazine?

  • I hear you mate, memories right here. Good times, where the hell does time go! I remember that magazine aswell!

  • ahh memories i remember playing this at 6 and 7 years old my bro bought at a pawn shop i remember playing it for the first time i was all wat am i sopposed to do then i figured out im supposed to build a city lol

  • Always loved this song. Brings back a lot of good memories.

  • some of my favorite times in the days when this game was new was when i'd come home from school, flick on my SNES and play Sim City for hours and read GamePro magazine. i loved video games then and I still do now although i do not have as much time to play anymore. :(
