If you have time please check out my tribute to Ava Gardner following a party for an acting class month long exercise where I portrayed Ava Gardner at the University of Texas in Austin. Im a singer songwriter musician actress from Houston Texas . Tory TT
Don't romanticize this relationship. They were young, and in love----no doubt. Still, it was a very, very, difficult relationship. They were both gorgeous andf in their prime.
I know that she was at times a selfish and hard bitch, look at the number of abortions she had but I am still in love with that beautiful face for better or for worse.
@thecubanism You shouldn't say things about women who have to have an abortion. It doesn't make them selfish or a hard bitch. You don't know what she was going through. Keep abortion legal. always!
Ava, I still love you and always will even though you are, like Frank an unfortunate product of the star? system, If you had met Frankie at a high school hop or at a works outing you would probably have married, had kids and had a lovely life, but no, your lives are left on the internet for me and others to pull to pieces, dissect and pore over, thank Christ I am what I am for better or for worse.
Ava Gardner, the most beautiful woman who ever lived,, Jesus, even in her fifties she was more beautiful thananyone who ever lived, I have done everything in my life that I ever wanted to do, except meeting or even seeing Ava and it will always bother me because I believe she used to walk her dog regularly in Hyde Park, if I had known tten I would have travelled down from L ancashire and we would have been married by now, I wish.
Please read more about their life. Don't base your comments on your experience, the music, and the mood it invokes, and fairy tales. He loved her more than she loved him---at least at the end of their relationship.
She was a woman who loved him less than he loved her. The stuff of great sorrow, feeling, and yes, profound music... Still, he was very hurt, I think, by this relationship. Nothing to glamorize. Just unrequitted love folks......Just like all the rest of us at some point in our lives. And, that was the poin,t after all....
They were the love of each other's life. After Frank married Barbara Marx, I've read Barbara gave Frank an ultimatum- either Ava or me. So the calls, letters, flowers, invites- all ceased abruptly. In Ava's words, "It's that fucking wife of his!" Ava was heartbroken. She never recovered.
