Watch the replay at 3:03 from Alonso's view. HOW can anyone say that was Hamilton's fault? Hamilton has, in the past, weaved a bit too much to be considered proper, but on that occasion he did nothing wrong whatsoever, he was taking up a normal line and Alonso got too much speed in the slipstream and wasn't able to move out the way in time, simple as that. It wasn't something Alonso OR Hamilton should get penalised over, it was just a racing incident.
@FormulaOneStar no he didn't he moved of the line, and than back. schumi didn't break ruled. cry baby hamilton said he did, of course hamilton never breaks the rules...
As far as I remember,in this incident,Lewis just let go off the gas pedal . Am I right ? Please, correct me if I am wrong. If Im right, that's not a good sportsman behaviour by Lewis...
@GeorgeTheGreat93 No as far as the incident is concerned Lewis was on the power all the way up the hill Alonso just had good run off of turns 2 and 3 which gave him a tow and a run up into 4 for a pass but it went wrong because Alonso slightly misjudged how close he was and how much understeer from aero loss he had up behind Hamilton. It was an aggresive deffence from Hamiton all the way and a good chase from Alonso
@OSORIOO Based on what I had seen at that race.Look,Lewis is a very good driver, but sometimes is just too reckless.I know F1 needs incidents like this, but he sometimes is just too aggressive. This is only my opinion. And about saying he left the gas pedal,I mean it.I totally remember it watching it at the replay. But I don' care because F1 has become soooo boring and the only thing I'm glad about the next season is the return of the 'Iceman'. :)
This time Fernando cracked. Those two guys bring out the best in each other. I was glad that Alonso's DRS jammed so that my two favorite drivers of the grid could enjoy an honest scrap as long as Hamilton was leading.
Yes, it was an interesting overtake but alonso did a mistake.... probably the only mistake of all 2011.... the best year off Alonso.... simply the best driver.
@KeepYourHandup972 I saw hamilton vs petrov @ monza weaving 4/5/6 times on the straight to defend his line or not to let petrov gets in his slipstream..
The most fucking stupid thing ive seen in f1 for ages! Both drivers get penalties, so who the fuck benefits, just let them race! The point of a penalty is that one driver is in the right and the other in the wrong, a penalty gives a benefit to the driver in the right. This was a racing incident pure and simple, Alonso got a facefull of understeer cos he was too close in the slipsteam, Lewis made his one move but too late. Nobodys fault, this penalty system needs sorting its ruining the sport!
@Phoenix1664 The FIA are slowly killing the sport.
There cutting cost's and there making the engine's smaller and smaller every couple of year's. Next thing there ganna say in 2020 that there going to use electricity to run these car's, Kins of like slot car's.
@ziddodiddo that block was intentionally to hit alonso's car... im pretty sure lewis saw him in his mirrors cuz me personally, that was dirty and stubborn when exiting a corner, and outta nowhere you just happen to swerve into the car which is about to overtake you... the penalty though was a bit too much, if they gave him penalty for swerving, then itd make sense
Hahaha Ferrari team radio "Winggg note worrrrking stayy caalmm" and in 4 or 5 corners the moron breaks his front wing. This Ferrari team are a bunch of wankers...not even close to the team of Kimi/Michael last time.
Here, as Alonso was getting ready to overtake, he turned to the right.
As Hamilton was going to block, he also turned to the right. Because they were so close, and Alonso had more speed, he crashed into the back of Hamilton. Racing incident IMO.
In Singapore, Massa left him enough space around the outside, but Hamilton turned into Massa. I don't think that deserved a penalty though.
Can someone please explain to me how this is different from the Hamilton/Massa incident in Singapore? I mean, Hamilton gets blamed for both events, but I can't really tell the difference... As for the weaving, have you seen Schumacher in Monza? I'm not saying this as a Hamilton/Massa/Alonso fan, I'm just trying to understand the regulations..
@SchumiSutil Ok now I see, I didn't know Alonso was penalized for this. However i feel that 20 seconds is indeed harsh for something as small as this. Incidents and fights like these are part of what makes racing so interesting and penalizing people for making moves like these is just stupid. Cheers, thanks for the reply.
hamitlons a cheating piece of shit weaving all over the road wen fernando was CLEARLY faster!! and why does he always crash into the ferraris? grrrr.. talentless wanker!!!
@lukewill783 yes really !Schumi's defence was completely different and comparable to this. Schumi opens up his car upon entry and he is entitled to do that as long as no driver was along side of him. Hamilton had no chance of being along side of him most of the times. however Button was alongside of schumi and managed to pass him knowing that he had better tires.
@alvarokas I don't like Hamilton either , but I really don't see any fault of him here ? If yes, can you explain me ? As far as I know , Hamilton even got penalised , but I don't know why
@CanYurGameTV Hamilton was penalised because he changed direction three or four times when he was defending his position on the main straight. The rules says, that you can change the direction only once.
@koistinennnn yeah, well i suppose schumacher is not judged by these new rules because he is an old driver(monza)...screw the rules anyway, it's racing, RACING. penalties this year are given so easily that i come to believe that i'm watching cars on street traffic and not f1 race
@koistinennnn it isnt even a rule, thats how much you know, its a "Drivers" rule, and only in the breaking area your supposed to move once, nothing wrong with weaving down a straight. They ruined F1 this year, penalties given when 2 or 3 years ago it was racing incidents. they have gone way OTT
@xRapidClaWx Schumi's defence was completely different and comparable to this. Schumi opens up his car upon entry and he is entitled to do that as long as no driver was along side of him. Hamilton had no chance of being along side of him most of the times. however Button was alongside of schumi and managed to pass him knowing that he had better tires.
@zabraoota1 you was probably only looking at Monza i take it? And both are completely the same, the rules say you are only allowed to move ONCE when defendning a place and you cannot move over again to take the corner, you have to commit to your defending line, i see no difference as they have both broken the rules with Weaving
@xRapidClaWx in the prospect of racing they are different cuz in Lewis's case he prevented Alonso to be along side of him early on and securing the inside line as in Schumi's case he took the inside defensive line and Lewis never had the speed to be along side of him. if i was racing i would do the same cuz it would make sense to take the better line if i felt the other guy wasn't close enough. i think the stewards looked at it from that perspective.
Master piece of defensive driving from the legend (Lewis Hamilton) even in a slow car having worn out tyres . Alonso clearly made a fool of himself....
This is clearly so much worse than Schumacher at Monza. I mean it must be if they gave Hammy a 20 second penalty for his 2 'moves' down the straight and Schumacher got no penalty for his extremely courteous driving where he was just taking up the racing line after making his one defensive move. It's very clear in my book.
I don't see why he deserves to be penalized... after the final corner, he uses his one move to block Alonso from overtaking. Then he moves to the left for the first corner, and Alonso followed him. How do hell is that weaving?
@blackogen - At 0:12 he moved left - that's one change of direction. At 0:14 he moved right that's another change of direction. At 0:17 he moved left again - that's 3 changes of direction.
@beyblader10171 - STFU & GTFO. He asked how what Hamilton did was weaving and I explained it to him - that's all for fuck's sake. I do not think he should have got penalised! What the fuck is this comment for. God's sake...
