By the way, that is the exact word's out of Richard's mouth. And if you read the lyrics, it makes no mention of "Kultur." I think you are thinking of "Amerika."

The song specifically means: "I have no desire." Germans say this as an expression meaning they do not have the drive or the will to do something offered. If you asked a German if they wanted to go to the movies with you tonight and they feel tired, they will simply reply with " 'hab keine Lust."

I like knocking this misconception out. I see a lot of people are confused about the meaning of this song.

He uses Subjunctive form for all of his phrases in the past tense. "Ich hätte" which is "would have." He speaks of the things he would have done if he could. So this is symbolized by the fat, but it has more meaning than that of fat.

I will simplify it. It's about melancholy. XD
