Don't make a vid if u don't have the time but a simple response. Or he'll if your instructors will allow you to film a short video of training we would LOVE to see big al mayo dressed up and playing with a real mans hose. Haha.

t work anymore my health has taken it's toll and it will now be Social Secuty disablty going forward. Damn I miss working. I hope the trains can stay in my play pin, I would go nuts with out them.

  • Big Al:

Very nice work. Where did you get hired on at?

    John L.

    (A fellow AA Hobbies customer)

  • @vzjtothalo1 I didnt want to tell everyone because of the Stalking haters I have but they would have so much work to get to me in the NEW HAVEN fire department. That is where I got on at. My starting pay is great money to me at $45,059 first year with full benefits. I am so excited and happy. Oh yeah, I LOVE AA Hobbies too!! ;)

  • @MonsterRailroad Two thums up Mayo. Not just on the layout but the job too. It's the hardest job you'll ever love.

  • My current engines are DC can they be converted to DCC??? I really like to get me a NCE Powercab. I am currently using 3 power packs on my current layout and would really like to make the swtich to DCC. Right now I can't afford to buy any DCC engines unless I get some really great deals..

  • @gil6114 Yes every engine that you own that is currently DC can be converted over to DCC by simpley buying a decoder for $18-28 and then installing them into the engines as you get money. You can slowly convert all your engines to DCC or take a huge leap and do them all at once. The DCC I use is Digitrax and I always recommend that system because I have owned and used lenz in the past and now Digitrax. NCEs Throttle is way too big. It is a Bulky throttle, go with Digitrax.

  • @MonsterRailroad Why the difference in price for a decoder. Also, where can a find reasonable price for Digitrax? Is that easy to set up? I wish I could take a huge leap and buy what I need. Except my wife would cut my N*ts off if I did. I may be a little crazy but not stupid. I just really enjoy my train hobby guess you can say I'm stupid about that.

  • My tengines are DC can they be converted to DCC??? I really like to get me a NCE Powercab. I currently use 3 power packs on my current layout. Right now I can't afford to buy any DCC engines.

  • I love how you always say "off the hook" you're fucking awesome dude

  • Yo Al! You modeled the car I bought when I was 16! LOL, used to roll around Detroit in that thing. (Mine had a lot more rust on it though)

  • Hi big al, after waching about 30 vids i went out and bough a train and a crap lade of track. I need some layout ideas can you help me

  • where did u grt de security fence

  • Thanks for another great video and congratulations! My cuz has been a part of the Boston FD for over 22 years, so let me know if you need some advise, and I can hook you up. He has seen it all!

  • Good luck Al. Hope I be blessed as well and when you get back I will be with CSX . Have a great one and be safe.

  • Great stuff Big Al!

    Adam

  • Probably a super basic question but how do i get my Athern c44-9 open to install a decoder into it? The explode page doesn't really give me any insight into that and I'm afraid i'm going to break something.

  • Congrats Al. Good luck with the training. In the future, a video on how you made those extinguishers would be cool.

  • Congrats on getting onto the fire department! Most of your calls will be medical in nature though!

  • dude, your layout is fricken amazing. the detail is amazing, it looks like a real city and railroad

  • Congrats Al on the firefighter training! you deserve it, anyone that deicated to the profession needs to be IN!!!!what blows me away is the way your family is growing! what do you feed them? mircalgrow?

  • Any chance you could do a little more on that CMW sedan that you weathered/detailed? That is EXACTLY the look I'm going for. I assume just makeup sponges and some rust colored paint, correct?
