Wow...I remember seeing them and how great they were and so much fun. Too bad this performance is so BLATANTLY LIP-SYNCHED. Tracy is all over the the mike w/no sound fluctuation, most of the background vocals just seem to "appear" w/noone singing them, etc. What a shame. They are great performers - should've been given a chance to show it.
So clear music. Clear sounds of guitars and voice. Beautiful melodie, it's a training of good feelings during the listening. And Tracy is wonderful as well...
They were part of the "Blonde Brigade" in the late 80's to early 90's that included Transvision Vamp and Darling Buds with obvious Blondie/Debbie harry influences. I think the Primitives were the most talented of the bunch and Tracy is very pretty and cute!
I saw them at The Roxy in L.A. and they were spot on. The drummer was a big hitter & the guitarist recreated the records perfecty with a huge collection of floor boxes. I'm still amazed at how little interest there was in this band. This LP stands up to anything...
Tracy Catell is so cute. If there were any justice the Prims would have been huge and Paul Court (guitarist) recognised as one of the greatest pop songwriters.
The Primitives were the most under-rated band of the 80's. Lovely is one of that decade's best albums, but it's now sadly deleted. They were too indie for the mainstream, and the dour indie boys were all sniffy about them because they got in the charts and went on Wogan. And had tunes. This (fantastic) song was where it all went wrong. I still remember the shock I felt when it stiffed in the charts. And Tracy was/is such a goddess!
wow im the 1st topost? loved this song in two seconds back in 88... an almost perfect blend of everything that makes a song great and 4evr listenable.

I've always liked this song, but the chord progression always reminded me of the 1967 classic "Here Comes My Baby" by the Tremeloes.

I agree-fantastic pop song, and Tracy had a unique voice. If only more bands had their way with melody.
