I have a family member who deals with imports and factories in both nations. She travels to both nations frequently. She tells me the major issues between them are that in India when you make a deal you can trust the Indians to follow through with it but in China if there is any opportunity for you to be ripped off it will happen. Why would the Indians want to trade with a nation with so little rule of law in their business?

My aunt just moved all of her contracts out of China to India. How does that profit the Chinese? The rules the West made? You mean 'doing what you willingly agreed to do?' My aunts contracts are pretty small compared to any kind of giant corporation or colony or headlines, she was going to have some rocking chairs made but after she paid they never made the rocking chairs. My only point is that that sucks for my aunt. I actually have been to China, although just Hong Kong, I can't wait to visit the mainland. It seems like a wonderful place.
