For making it as a stationary cover, press and hold the LT button (aim button for lancer), then press A.

mm yeaaah but then again you can only use the pistol while you're at it. Although there is a lil trick to use other weapons as well, but is it really worth it? I've just never seen anyone use it and keep using it on a regular basis

No I meant you can lay the shield down as cover and then hide behind it. Then you can switch weapons and stuff. I find it comes in handy. It helps on Horde mode to block stairs and stuff, tho once layed down the regular peopel and flame thrower dude can kick it down. You can kick it down also. You can hop over it too

yes, it can be used, when there is a heavy firing by a turret, u can open shield by pressing LT button (Aim button) and keep moving forward till the time, u cross that turret and kill the locust behind it by either pistol or changing weapon

no, all this games exept mgs4, resistanc and killzone 2 are on xbox too and xbox got forza motorsport, which is ecxelent, but dont get me wrong, ps3 is awsome, i got ps3 and 360, i just prefer playing on the 360 because of the selection of games
