Thanks for posting the video. Just got a quote from Sears (for $129) to clean dryer vents. Instead, tried myself using my central vacuum system. In order to get as close to the outlet vent as possible, I taped a flexible tube extension hose onto my vacuum hose to shove it into the end that goes to the outside vent. Removed much lint from all sections of the duct system, so I'm hoping this will result in improvement!
Dryer clamps are such a frustration! You would think with our space age technology they would have a better clamp by now. Hard to get on & always popping off.
@helipro555 Actually it is a "dryer vent hose clamp". A "hose clamp" could be for a car or any other hose. If you want to part hairs know what you are talking about yourself expert.
@helipro555 and it's (they are called) or (They're called) in this context, (there) refers to location. So much for your attempt to feel superior stupid shit.
@999Atwood hmm i smell a hypocrite! you are trying to be supirior by poining out mistakes, but you see this is FUCKING YOUTUBE YOU STUPID TROLL! I REALLY DONT CARE FAGGOT YOU THINK YOU SUPIRIOR TO ME GOIN ON YOUTUBE BEING A TROLL AT THINGS I DONT GIVE A GODDAM SHIT ABOUT! GO JACKOFF IN THE CORNER YOU LONLEY FUCKING TROLL
Merry Merry Christmas and a BIG THANKS. Here it is on the EVE and clothes in the dryer and dryer not drying. Searched this video and what a lifesaver. There didn't seem like much lint in the hose but I vacuumed the hose, dryer vent and hole in the wall and yep the dryer lite up and started to heat up. Works perfectly. I have a Whirlpool GAS Dryer.
A very Merry Christmas and Happy new Year to you and your family.
Most manufacturers recommend using Rigid or Semirigid metal duct. Check the back of your machine for the warning label. I always have a customer that says jokingly "Thats what they say about removing the warning label off of my mattress". NO, this is different, Foil leaks lint and plastic is Flamable! Both Fire hazards! This guy has no idea what he is doing, and he is not a trained technician.
@lilmikey23333 You can check to see if there is lint in the flexible tube and replace if needed. If it is foil "accordion type" replace it with corrugated semi-rigid. If the vent doesnt terminate directly out the side of the house, or if you want it thoroughly cleaned including the inside of the dryer, Call a professional. Im located in florida and 75% of the vents go through the roof and need a professional to clean.
@DryerVentProf ok kool thanx man for the tip..im gonna cheack and see if theres lint in it and if there is i take it out .. and the hose thing i got is just like this one on the video..
The video could open him up to a law suit. It lacks accuracy. Many ducts are over 25 ft long with a few 90 degree bends. Who ever follows his advice will likely be saying thank you to a fireman after their fire is out.
The main "clogs" of lint are rarely at the opening (either outside or by the dryer). They occur by the 90 degree bends INSIDE the wall. To give a person the false security is wrong. Lint ignites like a firecracker fuse (almost). If lint in the dryer lights up, the blower will push the burning lint to the blockage, lighting that lint up.
HI, I have 14 years experience in duct cleaning and I can tell u for sure that if u have a dirty dryer duct it can cause a fire and make ur dryer not work properly. In this video it looks like the duct is not that long and it just goes true the wall, however most of the time is not that simple, it runs 15 to 25 feet to the roof, side of the house or under. In this case u will need a professional with the right equipment.
Hi. I have 14 years experience in duct cleaning. I can tell you for sure, that a dirty dryer duct is a hazard and it can cause a fire, on top of that it will make your dryer not work properly. In this video looks like the duct just goes true the wall and if you can move the dryer and clean it your self is OK,but in many more cases the dryer duct runs 15 to 25' up to the roof or side of the house or even under the property and for those cases you will need a professional with the right equipment
How proffesional you have to be and how much you have to study and trin to clean up a hose? Im going to invest those $80 dollars in a couple of lap dances..lol
People are rude, but they have some valid points. I could save you 80 bucks by telling you you don't need something too, but that doesn't mean you don't need it... And in this case it will cost much more then 80 in the short run. This is a misinformation-al video that offers a common problems with out a solution. cleaning you lint trap, ducts and vent should be done daily but having your dryer serviced by a professional inside and out should be done annually.
WHAT A FUCKING guy...You dont know what you talking about....YOU THINK CLEANING THE ENDS IS GOOD ENOUGHT...ALL THE SHITT IS INSIDE HALFWAY IN..YOU NEED A PRO.LIKE ME WITH TOOLS .RETARD...ARE YOU DUMB? HOW ISAN OLD MAN OR WOMAN GONNA PULL THEIR DRYER OUT DUDE..DONT PREACH SOMETHING YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT..
good video for a common problem - sure the flex ducting is not to most codes - but if you buy a new dryer and have it installed guess what they will use.

Exactly what would be the fire hazard?

fetisov02 3 years ago
you dont know jack about dryer vent cleaning.
first thing you should mention is the metal flex in use in this video, is not in code.
that in itself is a hazard.
second, try telling an 80 year old man or woman how easy it is to remedy the problem.
you should know what you're talking about before showing the internet world what an ill informed wanna be you are.
