I don't know much about Kathleen Edwards...but does anyone know the backstory behind her first album? Where did the name "Failer" come from?

@Xij29y6 Someone might have had a better answer but the word 'failer' appears in "six o'clock news" .. .. ."She says her baby's a failer and she don't want you calling" Beyond that, I don't know the meaning. . . ..

@Xij29y6 From 2003 interview: The intentionally misspelled title of the album was also a reflection of her setbacks. "I know it is failure with a U, but why do we put a U in there? When we bail, there's a bailer in my boat, not a bailure. If you fail, are you a failer, too? I just thought it really represented what I had gone through, around the writing of those songs."

2005: "Why can't Failer be a word? Besides, I liked the idea of being such a failure that you can't even get the word right."

There's really nothing to this video but the song definitely rocks! I admit that I hate most country music and can't stand twangs(guitar or vocal). But this one is one of a few that possesses character and "that special something"!

There is an ALTERNATE version of this song, made for the radio ONLY which is not on any album - it is similar, but MUCH twangier, and less "produced" sounding. The lead guitar lines are different, more soulful. The other version is better. Reply if you want info on how to get it.

Dang, great add! Love the song, love the artist...she's a vastly underrated talent and possesses an understated, natural beauty. I strongly recommend ya catch her show if you ever get the chance - she and her band will blow you away.
