Planes flying through lightning to land

This was like when I was in Edmonton, Alberta on July 23, 2007, watching planes descent, approach and land through the massive thunderstorms after a tornado hit. My host kept apologising, I told her "Hell, this is the best vacation I've ever been on! What you apologising for? I LOVE storms, especially tornadoes!"

Wow, that's really spectacular, though they aren't flying through the lightning :P

Reminds me of a storm I had to divert around once some years back over Nebraska. Lots of cloud lightning.

they weren't landing thru or in lightning. the storm was still a few miles away
