I love the people making comments about how tough they think they are. Once you're in jail, you are done, and will never be the same. Saw a couple episodes of this show. The scary thing is these are the nice prisoners, the trustees that are talking to these kids. I only spent two days in adult lockup. One was in the drunk tank, the next day after court some skinhead that definetely had connections told one of the gaurds to put me in b pod maximum side. To my amazement they were getting ready to put me in that pod with him and four of his friends. Thank god my girlfriend answered and I got bailed out. Scared me straight.
This show is a joke compared to the original. I actually felt fear when I watched it as a kid. For this program to be truly effective, they should be dropped off at prison for at least a week. Of course, if these kids had more competent parents, they wouldn't be here. I'm not (totally) knocking the single parents though. They would have to be even stronger to keep their little gremlins in line. A daily foot in the ass would have kept them on the straight and narrow path.

If you dropped this young defenseless kids off for a week in an adult prison they would all be someones property in a few days unless they got protective custody. My sons have never been arrested or really gotten into trouble and are doing good in life so far. I have to say that I had to put some serious time and energy into it and I didn't beat my kids but they knew I would and that is the key to good kids. Saw a couple episodes of this show. The scary thing is these are the nice prisoners, the trustees that are talking to these kids. I only spent two days in adult lockup. One was in the drunk tank, the next day after court some skinhead that definetely had connections told one of the gaurds to put me in b pod maximum side. To my amazement they were getting ready to put me in that pod with him and four of his friends. Thank god my girlfriend answered and I got bailed out. Scared me straight.

This show is a joke compared to the original. I actually felt fear when I watched it as a kid. For this program to be truly effective, they should be dropped off at prison for at least a week. Of course, if these kids had more competent parents, they wouldn't be here. I'm not (totally) knocking the single parents though. They would have to be even stronger to keep their little gremlins in line. A daily foot in the ass would have kept them on the straight and narrow path.

@axel4196 Sounds like you have never even seen the inside of a jail let alone a prison. If you dropped this young defenseless kids off for a week in an adult prison they would all be someones property in a few days unless they got protective custody. Allot of these kids come from broken homes and poor enviornments. A "foot in the ass" doesn't help. I have been abused growing up and it makes things worse. These kids need counseling and positive influences in their lives. Someone to look up to.

@axel4196 As a mother of 4 boys I have to say I agree with you. It is hard being a parent today with or without help. My sons have never been arrested or really gotten into trouble and are doing good in life so far. I have to say that I had to put some serious time and energy into it and I didn't beat my kids but they knew I would and that is the key to good kids. You wasted too much time on someone who knows nothing about parenting and spends their time just fighting with people on Youtube.

@axel4196 Actually, I was a single mom for quite a few years and my husband and I got together almost 10yrs ago and I got a stepson but once you wash a kids clothes, cook for them, want to break the neck of their first heartbreak, well he's my son. I have a talent of staying a few steps ahead of them and that has helped a lot. Sadly, I see a lot of people my age that are the root of their kids trouble, actually getting them involved in gangs and drugs. They should be shot.

It is a kids job and life goal to push the lines to see what they can get away with. It is the parents job to draw the lines or else the police, schools, etc get involved. I just watched this show yesterday with the women prison and i was scared just by looking at it lol. I felt sorry for those girls because they didn't know what they were getting themselves into by living those lifestyles and not knowing what could happen. Well, now they know. @jerrel8 I would say that depends on how tough you are, what levels you are with and where you are at because each prison is different. Some are more high tech with cameras and such, some are way understaffed, etc. I would say try really hard to not find out and stay out of jail and prison.
