  • I've said it before and I'll say it again, you gotta love the way Gene Wood does "Come On Down!"

  • If they have Gene announcing the episode and Rod doing the fee plugs, it must have been one of those choice shows from the past season...wait, that's Barry & Enright talk. ;-) Summer rerun. There, that's the correct term. :-)

  • What exactly do you do with 5 one oz bars of gold anyway?

  • @animegal2686 saved them until NOW

  • Holly is so cute in the train conductor costme !

It was so much fun when she was the conductor !

  • Is that the first appearance of the TUGBOAT?

  • @tpir1972 no

  • Thanks, D. Always nice to see eps of syndie Price on here, although I really don't like how Rod has to slow down his fee plugs. I mean, I know it's to fill time, but still...

Also, question - if you haven't already said so to another person, how good of a job DO you think Kennedy did on this show?

  • @wisp2007 I agree on the fee plugs...it doesn't quite sound right at all...I'm so used to fast-read fee plugs, so it's a bit jarring for me.

  • @professor0526 he had to fill the time because he had to read the updated fee plugs. probably was on a rerun.

  • @wisp2007 I could've sworn Barker trained him, especially with the adlibbing. I wonder if Barker was the exec producer already back then. you definately see Drew acting like Bob.

  • I TAKE IT DAT DIS WUZ RITE AFTER JOHNNY OLSON'S PASSING?

  • tOM BUILT punchboard UP NICELY, especially the 5000.

  • Also, the third pricing game player had no chance to make the Showcase, whether they won or lost their pricing game.

  • A Jeep Wrangler on High Rollers was $12,680 in 1987-88.

  • This is the first time I can recall my jaw dropping more than once during the same showcase.

  • It was recorded by the trader that way.

  • @gamelover1949

This sounds weird w/ Gene announcing instead of Rod. :P

  • It's certainly different, considering there are only a small amount of episodes featuring Gene.

  • @gamelover1949

Yeah true...and I love how the "Big Banana" cue in Robert's showcase sounds lower pitched than usual.

  • GSN aired the episodes with the updated Summer rerun fee plugs(for the shows that reran)

  • More like a Password Plus Reunion

  • ohohoh ! Thanks man ! 2 years after the show was arrived in France. His Name is "Le juste Prix" with a presenter who call'd Phillipe Roy and Phillipe Risoli .it's on TF1 from 1987 to 2001 and It's Restart since 2008 with a French humor that call'd Vincent Lagaf! .In any case, thank you I finally discovered the true original version of this game! (sorry for my english ! )

  • Je vous en prie (You're welcome).

  • How the heck did that first showcase add up to $20,001? The second showcase's value I can really understand, but not the first.

  • Guess the producers decided to throw in a dollar just as a gag. :-D

  • @gamelover1949 I meant how could those four prizes (the ATV, the desk & chair, freezer, organ) total $20,001?

  • I guess we'll never know.

  • If I remember right, a similar organ on High Rollers in 1987 was $12.637.

  • @Tubewings

Organ and ATV were probably pretty expensive.

  • The late Gene Wood is announcing and the late Rod Roddy is doing the fee plugs.

  • Gene does a good job.

  • He does fine, as does Tom.

  • @Jessyleppert though half way through the 3rd pricing game, Gene seems to hesitate during the 2nd prize, an extremely rare slip up for him
