Cubs fans don't want to take the merit for Maddux. It would be stupid for us to try to because he is/was a Brave first and foremost but Maddux was a fan favorite in Chicago because he was such a class act and if you ask Maddux himself he has nothing but glowing things to say about the Cubs.

Maddux was a pitching god. He will go to the HOF as a Brave. When I was young and Maddux was in his Prime as a Brave, I always tried for his autograph, but never could get it. I did get Glavine and Smoltz, and many other old Braves, like Andruw and Lemke, but never Maddux or Galarraga.
