  • In other words, they are saying now there is a time where empirical laws can answer untestable, philosophical questions? A-hum excuse me, but I'm just not that stupid. So please lets use reason here, and understand that human values can not be empirically tested, or scientifically answered, so therefor we turn to something greater, sometimes it Philosophy and sometimes it Theology, and we should be frightened, because science cannot answer any of these types of questions, they just ignore them.

  • Now we live in a time where questions don't get answered do to being both being too P.C. and adding more questions through a method of testing which doesn't allow for solid answers, just more questions. We call this method the Scientific Method. Just take a look at Science as a whole, and outside of Math we have zero Sc Laws, just more tests, which equal more jobs, because of profits, and greed. And for only $29.95 you to can buy my book The Human Delusion to find out more questions about...;)

  • Dawkins is my very own personal deity ;PP

R.Dawkins <3 keep pushing the world forward!

  • @MasterOfFlash92 you mean backwards !

  • @ASarcasmProduction wow good name >_> u should rly get that fixed..

  • @ASarcasmProduction wow good name -_- u should rly get that fixed..

  • I take it this video got vote-botted.

  • Wow the idea of being burned at the stake gives me a real hard on!

  • The video is broken.

It won't go further than 0:56 for me.

  • @Gyohdon Never mind, reloading the page helped my problem.

  • The Holy Quran explains the origins of the universe, the formation of clouds, mountains, the human embryonic development, our brain - the Cerebrum, the barrier between two seas etc.

Read the Quran. It explains Science. Information which has been discovered only recently using advanced equipment only proves further the truth in the existence of God the Almighty.

  • @elhirah that is absurd

  • @elhirah The Bible makes vague interpretations and competent guesses about reality aswell, Is the Bible Gods word? The Bible predicted wars and dissasters and dictators (Or so the christians believe)

We can pull out a few broad truths and ALOT of nonsense in both the Bible and Quran. Fortunately reason tells us that both these books were over all pretty poor attempts at explaining reality and morality. No modern successful society takes any truth or ethics from the Quran.

    con....

  • @elhirah The countries that abide by Quranic morality and truth are in great need of secular liberty. Take saudi arabia or Nigeria for example...

The reason why America and Europe dont stone women to death is because the Quran is ignored as is the Bible. The future of humanity depends on science and reason, not on static religious nonsense. The Quran and Bible belong in the Dark ages. Empathy, Social community, globalization etc... are the fuels towards global success. Not barbaric religions

  • Find out more about what these scientists have to say about the 'ancient scriptures':

    Prof. Gerald G. Goeringer,

    Prof. William W. Hey,

    Prof. T. V. N. Persaud,

    Prof. E. Marshall Johnson,

    Prof. Keith Moore,

    Prof. Joe Simpson,

    Prof. Yoshihide Kozai,

    Prof. Tejatat Tejasen

  • @elhirah You win the logical fallacy award in the category "most blatant argument of authority"

  • @DawkinsForWeAreMany ... that was a government project... (facepalm)

  • @DawkinsForWeAreMany Naive? lol. So having some of the best scientists in the world in a group working together is not a good thing? lol.

  • Ya, its the end of the world if we make the wrong decisions in the next 20 years. Blah blah blah. I have huge admiration for the guys I recognize, -but- they make themselves sound like cretins when pull this panicky 'its the end times' crap.

  • 100% agree

  • I gave this vid 5 stars

  • Even though most of them are not scientists. Just because you got a PHD doesn't mean you are a scientist either. lol.

  • keep in mind just because someone labels him or herself as a member of a religion doesn't mean they're a theist. i know Catholic-agnostics and Jewish-atheists, etc. it's possibe that many of these religious scientists do not believe in an intelligent Judeo-Christian god

  • you seem to forget that over history religions suppress social culture. If you rejected a 'social-norm' you'd be basically excluding from the public. Numbers don't determine nothing when it comes to science. It comes really down to contribution and progress of the entity of knowledge of science. NOT the people in science.Scientists could believe sandwiches cured cancer if they liked to but, it doesn't enter the ring of science. The knowledge of reason and science become more important today.

  • karlmahlmann define God for me please, so we can start a conversation. :)

  • Define God as the cause of the universe. So if you're a rational person who accepts cause & effect and can accept that science has overtaken that age-old tenet of Atheism: the universe has always been here. I have good news for you; you are already a theist. Everything else is simply theology. Going further, Does God have something to do with man's ability to perceive good & evil? Does love have a spiritual component? Are we accountable for the way we treat each other? I believe so, yes.

  • Your saying the universe hasn't always been here? Where is the proof? If you accept that there is cause and effect then what caused God? You make the universe more complex by making up a God yet you have no proof for God so why should I accept it as the truth? Why should any reasonable person accept it as truth?

  • "Your saying the universe hasn't always been here? Where is the proof? "

I don't have to prove science. The universe is 14 billion years old. Live with it.

  • The big bang was 14 billion years ago and apparantly so was the begining of time, so the universe has always been here (always means since the begining of time) God could not have done anything without time(without cause and effect) so the question is how does God fit into this and what is your proof?

  • "God could not have done anything without time"

Clearly, we are of different religions.

  • Yeah, if you can believe in God without evidence and I can't then thats the difference right there. We will have to agree to disagree and leave it there unless you have some real proof.

  • also if your definition of God that you have proven is simply 'the begining of everything' then so what, you've just redefined the phrase nothing more.

  • Dawkins does NOT say that aliens made us.

  • karlmahlmann, how very odd. From my side of the fence, after reading your words i am inclined to think that you are the crackpot. "Most of the great contributors to science have been people of faith" - Your comment is laughable, if you want to back that up then please do. Also explain to me just how many hundreds of years people with faith killed and persecuted anyone that even remotely questioned the church. Then tell me again how people of faith contributed the most to science....

  • Whats wrong with ego boosting?

  • amen

  • Excellent vid :)

  • Science and Reason ?? Where ?? ..For every Solution the Industrial Revolution came up with along came 10 more Problems ..Don,t worry i,m not a great fan of Religion either

  • You're laboring under the delusion that people in labs are less subject to mental and emotional aberration than are people in shrines.

In reality, most of scientific endeavor today is naught but the occult.

It is the occult in science that has it serve military research first and foremost, that fluoridates water, adds mercury to vaccines, creates psychotropic weapons...

    D2

  • Is this the anti-Discovery Institute ?

  • How so?

  • Look at the list of speakers for their conference. Who needs that? This is just to pump up the egos of the leaders. Better the money be spent at the grassroots. Better the money be spent on workshops, education in promting science at the local level, etc. And the costs of participating in the conferences exclude the ordinary person.

  • what is bad about elitist scientific groups...? Elite scientists are a good thing. It isn't like elite dogmatic groups. They all have good intentions.

  • Yeah there are still tons of STUPID ppl. Actually I would say most ppl are STUPID which is why the world is still in the shitty state it is right now!

  • God bless Dawkins, Dennet, Pinker, etc... God bless science :)

  • These people look like loads of fun!

The dark ages are almost over and the age of science and reason is on the tail end of it.

  • This deserves a 5/5. ^^
