Some Filipinos supported her but if she becomes an American citizen, I wouldn't hold it against her. But I think Filipino 'masa' taste in music is different from international standards. So, Regine Velasquez and Sarah Geronimo will never be international artists.

I've looked at that translated video (with the English subtitles), and for some reason the translation ends short – right after Charice's mother says 'Thanks' to her. The interviewer then asks Charice “What does your mother mean to you, now?”. Then, Charice becomes somewhat emotional.
I couldn’t understand her – but somehow, she managed to touched me emotionally anyway. Please, can someone tell me... What did she say?

charice, you continue to amaze me w/ your humility esp. on the part where you mentioned that you were telling david foster that there are still lots of singers in the Philippines who are great and are showing him vids of these artists to him. It shows security, contentment and the ability to share the spotlight w/ fellow singers so lacking from other talented artists.
and charlene is still so pretty.

I feel Charice is handling her "home" perfectly. She seems to have truly enjoyed her short break with family and friends. Her LA apartment is nice and perfect for the great recording studios and for her work at FOX Studios. No need to change her "official" residence.

@TheNasuntara One of the best advice given to Charice was from Oprah who told her to keep her feet on the ground even when she wears designer heels and Natalie Cole who told her to surround herself by people who will love her even if she doesn't sing another note. Charice knows people back home whom she grew up with keep her grounded, humble and rooted. However it seems someone like you would not understand that.

It's "not throwing back" - the world has become global now and do not fault her for wanting to keep her roots! It's amazing... The 'Telephone' that Charice sings on Glee is exactly in the same tune (frequency) as her rendition here. I've just compared it, and it's astounding! She sings in 'perfect pitch'!
