hey, i recognise her. she is all grown up now.i still think a simple colour code would help for people with disabilities. i am sure some of the guys up at Co-Action would love to test drive it for you.best of luck, mate
i saw you on dragons den last night and fair play to ya i hope u do well. but u said that the hardest part of learing guitar is the left hand. havin taught guitar i find the opposite. if someone has no rythm or timing u can't teach them, not even with this contraption! but good luck
but the only use for this would be for a person with a disability . part of the reason for learning a musical instrument is the pleasure a musician achieves mastering it.
this invention limits the use of the guitar .
a proper guitarist can play hundreds of different chords, and their different inversions ,and has the scope to retune his guitar to lots of different tunings to play modal chords etc .
Spoken like a true musician - and of course I agree. But what about all those who aren't as clever/committed as you are? This is for people like me who gave up learning because it was just too hard. Hey - I'm finally learning to sing in tune - and it's fun!
No, because it's made to fit over the top four frets and can't be moved up or down.
But all possible chords can be made using only those four frets, which is why it's made for that position. Because this devise can form 16 chords you can play the same song in a number of different keys to suit your voice.
(The mechanics of it mean that it could be set up to make ANY 16 chords - I just chose the most commonly used ones.. Certainly, special-order ones could be made with whatever chords you like..)
One real potential of a gadget like that is that if you dispensed with the frets and used clavichord-style tangents to stop the strings, it could play chords in just intonation.
Sitting on top of a fretted guitar it'll always sound just as crap as a fretted guitar played with the fingers.
I think you might need only some 1-4-5 levers with, perhaps some levers for adding variations for the chords, and whole thing might be like a capo, be able to slide up/down the neck during playing, with melody and bending versatility. Great idea, but probably already taken.
Auto harps are great too, but this is for people who already have a guitar but gave up on it because it was too difficult. It has 16 chords so thousands of songs can be played. There are dozens of patents out there but none come close to this for one versatility..
Its a good idea.. Like myself I know pleanty of people who have an acoustic or electric guitar sitting under my bed because I've given up trying to learn.. It would be nice to get some sort of instant achievement from picking up a guitar rather than spending months learning simple chords and tunes..

This invention is not for musicians.
This is for ordinary people to be able to play a range of useful chords without years of practice.
I spent years struggling with my guitar. eventually gave up and bought a tenor Sax.
Still got the guitar though...
So dig that guitar out from the back of the wardrobe, buy it a new set of strings, clamp on a Chordelia, and have a great summer.
Chordelia is cool!

Thanks, Steve. You have a point, but certainly the left hand is a problem for lots of us...

you clearly have some engineering talent

Can it be used with a capo? If not, why not? Potential investor.

Isn't it already employed by Autoharp?
It's Accordion version of Guitar.
