FYI this cover was a miracle. FL did this for a private show in LA in 90's pretty sure. Thats where it all started. It was weird they published it and again on KCRW. Must have been a blast to see that show in the 90's...or even see Pink Floyd.
I feel like this is missing the magic of Roger Waters and David Gilmour's guitar playing. I like the Flaming Lips but I'm very disappointed in their cover and they need more guitar solos if they even want to touch Pink Floyd's feet.
@rainbowbritewolfgang (I can't believe I just spelled that ridiculous name out!) Well, seen in that dim light, why does anything matter? I'll give u a few yrs to figure it out. point of fact:i'm a fan of both bands, does that help u?
@Th3Changeling Sorry, I think you misunderstood my comment. I was reacting to others comments that they were "murderers" and "how dare they." I was being extremely sarcastic and just pointing out that the band is having fun and so is the audience. That's what concerts are all about. I was very surprised other people didn't get that. I love the Lips. They can do no wrong in my book. I loved the Tommy medley they did on VH1 as well. And their cover of War Pigs. Yes, I also love Floyd, Zep, Who etc
Man, they're so much a better band these days than then. I think the Flaming Lips are just now reaching their peak as inventive musicians, as well as live showman. And I say that in a good way too.
YES! THIS IS SACRILEGE! They are HAVING FUN playing a song they love and the audience is having a great time, singing along and all. WHAT HAS MUSIC COME TO?
Yeah I agree...in their defense I will say...it is a live performance...Plus judging from the wear and tear apparent on the bandmates It would appear that perhaps it came at the end of a long set...just a guess though. Check out some of their other Floyd covers...this isnt their best one.
That shit on his face is fake blood from the cover of War pigs they performed earlier.

Good band, however, No one can rightly critique this performance. The audio is too terrible to judge.

Whats wrong having a talented band that makes great records (Flaming Lips) to cover a talented band that makes great records (Pink Floyd)??

Stop Fuking with the music of Pink Floyd.

There is no subtlety, no soul. The only emotional content displayed is aggression. Nice try, but not good enough.
