I think to understand all of this and LnL, you had to have watched Laura from the start. Laura had lied and gone through denial a lot before this. She conveniently forgotten she killed her lover, David Hamilton, and almost let her mother go to jail. She basically lived in denial. She had a strange relationship with Luke that developed over a long time but basically, even though he raped her, Luke was the only one who treated her like an adult. It's hard to understand, but there it is.

@CatchupGirl71 That was STUPID. I try to pretend certain re-writes never happened. lol. But, at the same time, it could be said that Laura was in denial later on and trying to re-write the past in her mind, convincing herself it wasn't a rape. I mean, if she admitted it, how could she explain why she still loved this guy? That's how I view it.

@JenniferJanu I think Laura always knew the truth of what happened that night, but she understood Luke so well that she could forgive and eventually love him. Their relationship was SO MUCH MORE than that one night.
