  • OMG!

  • Whenever i face, what is called writers block or am suffering from some sort of barrier that is thwarting my creativeness, i just watch a video of her, and her remarkable journey to the road of stardom and immediately im filled with fervent inspiration :)

  • she kind of looks like that woman who wrote the harry potter books, i could be completely wrong, or thinkin about someone else, but i swear she does

  • @blooberflat22 lol???? that a joke..she is that woman

  • @blooberflat22 You must be joking?

  • @blooberflat22 seriously?

  • I love J.K.|

    Rowling!!!.

  • I don't know if this is mentioned in any interviews (haven't watched this one yet), but when she was writing the Prisoner of Azkaban, her mother was dying and she went into depression, creating the dementors. There is a sort of thing where you go into a fit of insanity called dementia, slightly like depression but far worse, and is mentioned in the books that the Dementor's Kiss leaves you as only partly human, having nothing else to live for, losing your mind, insanity.

  • @MissChips33 Well firstly she hadn't even finished the first one when her mother passed away so..

  • @MissChips33 Actually her mother died before the first book was published, but she was clinically depressed when she wrote the first book, and she did base the dementors on depression, especially the part about how you feel like you'll never be happy again.

  • I met her! She signed the last book for me! She is really sweet and definately an inspiration!

  • I keep wanting the interviewer to say "is that your final answer"?

  • I love Jo Rowling with every fibre of my being.

  • I like the Philosopher's Stone title better

  • How can someone dislike this?

  • I would not be who I am today without Joe...

  • @pb25812462 she also created him for you to mourn his death in the first place...

  • she has such a relaxing voice

  • It would be so great to meet her. Seriously. She's one of my biggest inspirations.

  • i love J.K Rowling. i live for her books. im amazed because when i was 5 years old i wrote a small book about a red bird called, sam and my first thought was "lets get it published" there has never been a moment in my life where i havent wanted to be an author. <3

  • @divadevil123 I started writing early also, within a few months of learning how to read. I am a ghost writer still... but my works are vast including books, movies, music, TV etc. I think you should write some more.

  • god, Rowling's accent is like music!

  • If I ever met her, I would start to cry. I owe her so much.

  • The author of the 90's <3

  • "Bitches suck my dick because I look like J.K. Rowling." -Lil B

    swag

  • I love you JK Rowlings.

  • she is so lucky!

  • My mother has MS so I respect her dedication to the MS society

  • Never read a book, never saw a movie. But she's awsome no doubt.

  • i used to hate her and the books but after wathing 7th movie and learning a few things i understand how deep she is

  • (con)...I wave to the abnoxious, conniving, ignorant, lieing, stupid troll, adieu. Though he'll never stop trolling youtube with his pathetic attemps, so it's a what ever. JO ROWLING YOU'RE ARE THE BEST CREATING THE WORLD OF HARRY POTTER! :D

  • I see that Earnamint is still trying to prove that he intentionally came up with the idea of Harry Potter himself, and still trying to say that these wonderful creations that ahem, OTHER PEOPLE have ACTUALLY wrote and created are theives still denying the truth that is right in front of his face...If he was so eeger to regain his things *cough* then he would have done so in a manner that he would have had evidence (actual evidence) to proove it, now, we all know he really doesn't, and to that..

  • There's always Pottermore in October!

  • J.k Rowling you are my Hero ^^

  • I'll never forget the feeling i get whenever i read or watch Harry Potter and i'll never stop wishing that one day i'll get that letter from Hogwarts and live this fascinating life. Im proud to say that i've stuck by Harry Potter from the very start and will always stick by it. I could never thank J.K Rowling so much for creating this world which has been my childhood.

  • this woman is sheer genius

  • Be ignorant if you like. My creations have been stolen and written-up, produced, made into products of many kinds, or simply used by opportunists who have grasped the invention material and run with it. It is one mans productive work created over many years in design, research, aptitude, and efforts (which people have used for self gain, be it money, fame, or public recognition) that I want made known has seeded many productions, including publications by Jo Rowling.

  • @earnamint I do find it quite amusing that on your page you take credit for works that a) there is concrete evidence to prove you didn't write and b) works that were begun before you were born. Grow up.

  • @Matty3Mite3 I will only reveal what is true, but you seem to know it all. You know very little.

  • Thank you, JK Rowling, for my childhood <3

  • The story of Harry Potter was designed by me. What you don't know is that my stories took Me ~17 years to build. The first five stories were well designed in the form of story-boards, intended for use in film production. The story was formed with my desires and aspirations to share knowledge I knew would entertain, as well as educate, children and help them develop an intuitive mind. It was to suit adults as well. Jo Rowling wrote-up the story after my work got stolen.

  • @earnamint Seems like there are THOUSANDS of people just like you screaming, "THIEF," the point being, no one is listening, sweetheart, and no one really cares. Because everyone knows you're only looking for attention. And I hate to tell you, no one would believe you, even if you had compelling evidence.

  • Jo seems a genuinely lovely and kind person!

  • I don't know one thing about Harry Potter. Never read one sentence from a book, nor have I seen one minute of the movies. Having said that, I admire this woman. I just read her story and that in itself makes me want to read the first book, one that got rejected 12 times. A book she wrote while on welfare, as a single mother, who had a vision, an idea, a world she she knew of but had to write it all down because she had nothing to lose. Now she is the richest author with millions of fans.

  • @raybanfandom I hope you start reading Harry Potter. :)

  • @TwiPuccaFan1

I think I will. I just got to start from the first book and take it form there.

  • @pd4250 oooh yes of course, i can remember. thank you so much! :)

  • jk rowling always looks so sad.....

  • Can anyone tell me where i find the song which is played at the very beginning of this video? How is it called and from which part is it?

  • My mom has multiple sclerosis and it is amazing what shes done and wats shes doing

  • FOR GODS SAKE, WILL EVERYONE JUST LAY OFF AMERICA?? ITS THE STUPID MARKETING COMPANIES WHO THOUGHT WE WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT PHILOSOPHER MEANT. ILL ADMIT THAT PROBABLY ONLY 1/2 OF 9 YEAR OLD'S KNOW WHAT IT MEANS BUT THINK FOR A SECOND. DOES IT MATTER IF 9 YEAR OLD'S DON'T KNOW A WORD THAT THEY WONT NEED TIL THERE A TEEN?? GROW UP. "America is stupid lol " WELL HOW MATURE OF YOU TO POINT THAT OUT. HONESTLY ITS CLEARLY NOT AMERICA THAT'S MAKING THE WORLD CORRUPT. GROW UP.

  • @SomePeopleKillPeople CAPS LOCK RAGE OF DOOM

  • @SomePeopleKillPeople AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Wow I just have to say J.K. Rowling you are the best. I mean I try really hard when i write my stories and when I get my own ideas but none of them can compair with the amazing world that you have created. You make me try harder at my stories because I want to be a great author like you. And for the people that are saying she stole your idea get a life. And it doesn't take 17 years to write a book! I mean sure it takes A LOT to come up with a magical world like she did but still come on.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY J.K. ROWLING

  • Happy Birthday, Mrs Rowling!!

  • A lot of people pretend to have written Harry Potter. If so, why hadn`t you published your books before J. did? Don`t try to lie on someone, i`m sure there`re hundreds of writers around the world that have written books about magicians. So, everyone can pretend to have written J. Rowling`s book. Yeah, I`m sure, too, that you want to have the money she has but......no way. ;)

  • Rowling claims she was on a train from Manchester to London and it came, just came! Stories don't just come formed, they have to be designed and developed and then written-up. She claims to have written three chapters and sent them to publishers. I spent 17 years developing the stories, the first nine years developing the stories structure, and about eight more years drawing the key scene settings and features in the stories. I never got to offer my stories to a publisher! They got stolen! True

  • My writers name is J. K. Rawling. I designed the stories of Harry Potter from their first concept of children exploring castles in England/Scotland from 1978. I began what I named "The Lion King" from 1980, and "Finding NEMO" began in 1983, when I was posted to One Amenities Unit in Sydney. Jo Rowling wrote for adults, not children. I designed the mentioned stories for children but they had to be suitable for adults to view. The known author simply wrote-up my stories and published them!

  • My name is Greg Simcock. I am the original creator of the Harry Potter stories. I designed all of the title names... and the American title of Sorcerers Stone! My stories and artwork of many inventions got stolen from my home in Australia! They were written-up as books and marketed in a relatively short time, during which I have been researching the theft of my creations. My stories were very graphically presented as story-boards that had taken me 17 years to construct! See: mylord.amplify.com

  • i bet her first guy hates himself so much right now.

  • would ya?

  • I LOVE THIS WOMAN!

  • Someone know if dumbledore is gay? i'm so confused, a friend told m that... please

  • @MAFEARIAS yes, Dumbledore is gay. JK Rowling always saw him as gay when writing the books.

  • @jamerikan5689 Omg thanks i cant believe! jaja really thanks

  • Comment removed

  • I am watching harry potter and the deathly hollows part 2 today. I am so excited :) she is a genius!!!

  • the woman is a damn genius, bottom line.

  • I grew up with the potter series, now that the last of the movies are done and over with, it saddens me in a tremendous way. THIS was a classic, is a classic, and will always be.

  • She is an amazing women to all kids wen we were younger n she truley change them n i think we we r older we will be telling storys about dis wonderful amazing lady who created a book dat no1 ever thought into a muitmillon dollor movies!! i'll be naming my daughter after JK!!!!

  • She published knowing that she wouldn't make much (her editor said that people don't make much from writing a children's book) she was alright with it becuase she could get enough to at least help her and her daughter, she didn't even know how much that could change; She became a writer to an inspiration to many kids and adults around the world. :) I respect her, you go Jo! <3

  • What is da song that was playing in the background at 6:26 ?

  • don't blame Americans because some publisher made a silly decision that nobody could learn what a philosopher stone was.

  • i love the harry potter series, books and films, but they dont come close to lord of the rings in my opinion.

  • It's insane! This one lady has made the whole Harry Potter universe! I am so glad I grew up with Harry Potter :D

  • she somehow always reminds me of lady di, maybe it's her big sad eyes

  • Wonderful woman, you can tell she's still very real and unaffected (as much as you can be) by the fame

  • the fact that she got my generation reading (89' 91'92' so fourth) is gigantic achievement in itself. Well Done JK.

  • There is so much that I owe to this woman.

  • @HPAnimeFreak what?

  • meredith you don't deserve to be in her presence

  • if it weren't for you J.K my life wouldn't be what it is today the harry book's has had a so massive influence on my life that they are now like a part of my life! every day when i go to sleep i read one of your books EVERY DAY !

  • what is this interviewer's name

  • @CemelDosce11 meredith viera. I think

  • Stephenie Meyer disliked this 15 times.

  • That Neil is one lucky MoFo

  • She's so damn sexy, I'd like to make passionate love to her on the train to Hogswarts..

  • Thank you Jo, for teaching what is truly important and for giving me boundless inspiration. Not only have you changed your life, but also my own.

  • "Goblet nearly killed me." You're telling me! My copy fell off my shelf and hit me on the top of the head. I really did think I was dying.

  • Book readers, check this amazing website: LoveAHappyEnding (dot) com

  • some of the most incredible moments of my life were spent within the realm of Harry Potter. Such a beautiful world she's created...I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

  • THIS WOMAN IS MY LIFE

    and i am not ashamed

  • start a new epic series

  • @Glong09 Why would you ever say that? It's called "fiction" for a reason. And these movies give kids pure joy and happiness from watching them. Harry Potter has been part of my childhood for years now. If you haven't seen the movies, I suggest you do. Because the main theme of her whole series is love and friendship, not violence. She never promotes violence. And also, there are much worse influences out there. Go troll on Grand Theft Auto or Call of Duty if you're so worried about influences.

  • @breadandbutterr yesss i grew up on it too! Im only 20. i own most of them and will see the final one. Im just saying. And yes i have call of duty too, but do some research on the government and the music industry and you will see that its run by the Illuminati. They want our planet to become a new world order and they are brainwashing us through t.v. if your aware of this then it wont affect you.

  • @Glong09 Isn't it amazing how the enlightened few exist only on Youtube. -_-

  • @Jems17 I swear i have a gift or something. i can receive any answers i ask and can see through other dimensions. Im like a shamen! Its cool haha my dreams come true everyday and my friend is an alien. and i found my true love and life is good

  • the UK title IS THE BLOOMIN' TITLE.

    Not the "sorcerers stone"

  • @zugarpies i know somewhat how you feel haveing ideas that cant be written

  • Leech off people your own age you maggot bitch!

  • Absolutely love this lady. Beautiful, benevolent and super intelligent.

  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - UK Title, should be World title. Only America has the "Sorcerer's Stone".

  • @Spyke360 Yeah I agree! I'm American but I call it the Philosopher's Stone because that was what JKR intended it to be.

  • @Spyke360 India has it too. And you'd be surprised, most of us call it "Philosopher's Stone" anyways.

  • @Spyke360 Americans always want to be different -.-

  • @Spyke360 y u mad tho?

  • @TRlPZ Not that I'm mad I'm just saying it should be Philosopher since the Philosopher's Stone is an actual legend at Sorcerer's isn't.

  • @Spyke360 I know, I'm just fucking with you. I live in America and it bothers me how we always have to do things different from the rest of the world (ie, metric system)

  • @Spyke360 I'm American and I definitely agree....Rowling did not create the Philosopher's stone, it's an alchemy thing that's been written/spoken about forever. Any Americans who were well read or knew anything about alchemy could explain to the others...or something. haha.

  • @Spyke360 oh, but everybody knows America IS the world.

    /Sarcasm.

  • @ThisIsWonga1 Yes, very good

  • @Spyke360 Hehe :P

  • @ThisIsWonga1 lol xD

  • @Spyke360 that is the title in mexico, "HARRY POTTER Y LA PIEDRA FILOSOFAR"

  • @Spyke360 Apparently ( I can't remember who said it) They changed it to 'Sorcerers' because they thought that 'Philosophers' was too hard for American Kids to handle.

  • Its great to see that Fantasy sells so much be it books or movies, even though it is ridiculed by a large no. of people.

  • I want to be an author. I am 13 and currently wrtitting a 'book' with a freind of mine.

  • where is the next part of this???

  • EDIN -BUR -UH, not Edin-bor-o. PLEASE!

  • @Bumblybee256 HA first thing I thought too lol

  • She didn't just make a book

    she made a world

when i was a kid and saw the first movie (as i didn;t read the books till the 3rd) i used to dream about a letter that came through my post from hogwarts and that I would play quiditch for gryfindor and im sure everyone has thought about this.

The thing i love about it though is she thought she was just making a childrens book and maybe she'd get some money maybe not she didn't really care then 17 years later and bam. She's minted and deserves to be

  • @reddagger93

totally... when i turned eleven i totally hoped for such a letter :D

  • @reddagger93 trust me i did tht with every movie! like pirates of the carribean! haahah

  • @ zugarpies What?!? It came to you, but you can't write it down?!? You might have a great idea, that could change the way people think, you could influence the entire world, and direct a whole generation towards something good, but you're not going to, becouse it feels imposible...

Please, if not for yourself, write it for me, and for eveyone else, that's going to bye it, and love it.

  • I remember being 14 and having an extremely vivid dream of dragons, reptiles, humans and another galaxy. I can physically feel myself leaving this galaxy and returning to earth, with a "voice" saying; share this. I know it sounds stupid, but I woke up at 5 AM that morning with an extreme urge to just write it down and don't forget it. My mind felt like a blank sheet, ready to be written on. I don't think it can make a book though, it just feels so impossible to actually do it :s

  • I love it at "an auction FOR YOUR BOOK!" lol.

  • im 9 and i red the 5 book and now im reading the last

  • @246810403 what does surreptitious mean? sallow?....

  • Please lend me 1 mln dollars

    youtube.com/watch?v=GI1CNGUdJuA

  • im an 11 year old but my dream is to become a writer and shes my idol i look up to her and i feel so sad because her mother died when she was writing philosophers stone. i have read all the harry potter books thousands of times and i have to say that when her mom died she wrote how harry felt coming from herself

  • @dracosBIGGESTfan 12 years old and I want to be a writer too, she's my inspiration. I feel the same way, J.K. Rowling is AMAZING.

  • @allieallieg8tor i know and ppl dnt understand that she inspires ppl all over the world if i ever met her that would be my dream

  • @dracosBIGGESTfan Right? I've wanted to become a writer since 1st grade, but in about 3rd grade I started getting other ideas, like fashion designing and interior designing, but after I picked up the Harry Potter series and finished it in 6th grade and I decided I was a good writer and loved writing and reading more than anything else.

  • @allieallieg8tor same with me but i realized tht i loved reading and writing in 7th grade and tht i was good at writing i hope i can write great stories like her 1 day

  • @dracosBIGGESTfan I wish you luck, and I hope to read some of your stories someday :)

  • @allieallieg8tor thank you thats sweet i also wish u luck and hope to read ur stories someday x)

  • @dracosBIGGESTfan :D thank you

  • she's such an inspiration(:

  • I wonder if Neil Murray grew a beard because he got fed up with the newspapers calling him a Harry Potter lookalike.

  • Harry Potter has the same level of magical appeal as The Chronicles of Narnia, Alice in Wonderland and Lord of the Rings!

  • please please please ppl stop critizising twilight. Both harry potter and twilight are great.

  • this reporter is annoying as hell.

  • i used to write stories when i was really young and show them to my parents and even now that im 19 my mum still tells me they were amazing.. i would love to be able to write novels but writing something as incredible as she has is just insane! what an amazing woman!

  • stephanie meyer created 13 accounts & disliked this vid :P

  • ..why is religion even an issue here.

  • God how I love dat women

  • HAH she's my favorite book writer and she's blond :P.

  • Her lips rarely smile. Does she still have clinical depression?

  • @muffingirl1606 She seems sad to me

  • "Edin-burrow"? Never heard of it.

  • There are many Christians today that have never read a page from the Bible in their entire life! If you hear her talk, she knows much more about the occult terms and practices than she knows about the Bible. She said she does not believe in magic...but, she writes with passion about it. It's like Martha Steward would say: read my baking books, even bake some of the cookies, but don't eat them. How many can do that? You can't put Christians and witchcraft in the same space, and have light.

  • @loredinusa Well she isn't doing that, now is she?

Really, I believe you should pick up a Harry Potter book and read it before making such biased comments. To be honest, Harry Potter is really just harmless fun and wouldn't influence children and/or adults in the slightest only because we realise that it's just fantasy. I find it hard to understand why you can't understand that.

  • but she killed Fred

  • She's my hero, with both her personality and her success. She deserves everything she has earned from this series, and her books are a huge part in my childhood. Her work has touches the hearts of millions of people. Stephenie Meyer doesn't deserve to be compared to this litterary genious. Twilight fans are morons, no matter how convincing they make their argument

  • why do americans always insist on pronouncing edinburgh 'edinboro'? it's pronounced 'edin-bruh'

  • You just cant hate or be jealous of this lady. She went through so much and never gave up until she found success.

  • Jk Rowling is very beautiful

  • J.K. Rowling is the best author ever!

  • She's the best in the world

  • I am a Christinan, an aspiring youth pastor, and I have no problem with these books Its very hypocritical from someone to say the entire story is about witchcraft and Satanism when you have not read them yourself I have and I can honestly say there are no satanic messages that I have found mainly just moral lesson Second some of the most influential christian authors have written about magic Tolken, Lewis, I dont not know for sure she is an actual born again christian but these books are not bad

  • @truthandroughjustice The Illuminists would bless a holly tree. then take the branches as wands to charm masses of people, controlling their thoughts and emotions as to lead them into like-mind of Luciferian philosophy. Thus we have the term "Hollywood." Before spewing subjective opinion, take a second to look at the facts. If you say you're Christian, then read some scripture & know the world you live in. nuff said...

  • Harry Potter. Just a book. Dont lose your shit.
