  • Really good!

  • cool Work....

  • I cracked-up at Captain Kirk's voice over the communicator. Nice film.

  • Haha, CC.. 1:35 "omg release weeds" - "First of all only geeks get divorced"

  • "You take his communicator, I'll take his wallet!"

Everyone knows that a redshirt should never give out his name. That's an almost certain death sentence!

  • What I would say, "When I found out I'd get sent to the Enterprise, I thought 'I hope I'm on the same team with Ensign Ricky.'" X(

  • Fantastic Stuff Rogers. Will you be interested in a comic strip, if movie is a time/money consuming venture?

  • best fan film ever!!!!

  • This was nicely done. It would have been nice to see a few more but obviously coming up with a good story as well as the time to film it (not to mention the expense) prevented you from doing so.

    Thanks for this story.

  • Of course the red shirts die first they stick out like a sore thumb, they should be wearing camouflage

  • okay, let me get this straight

    red shirts= throw away characters

    blue shirts= doctors

yellow shirts= captains? (idk about this one)

  • @megaexplosions

    XD...sorta

    Redshirts= Engineers or security (expendable)

    blue shirts= science or medical

    goldshirts= navigatoin or command

(yes I know I need a life XD)

  • "Ah crap."

    LOL!

  • Amazing!

  • AMAZING. You guys have earned a blue shirt, at the very least!!

  • Fantastic!!!!!

  • "He says make it so?" "A better captain would" That totally made me lose it. haha

  • Just so so, for me. I'm an Original Trekker, being 10 y.o. when the 1st show aired. I still embody the wonder of space and science that the 2nd (read: DEAD) ensign displayed. The 1st guy was waaay too jaded for a serious Star Trek character to be. Yes, I know it's a parody but it would have been funnier if they both were optimists doing battle as Redshirts.

  • Starfleet is a military organization. Averson is the only person wearing the uniform I've ever seen come close to representing an actual military personnel standard.

  • Brilliant, thank you :)

  • Oh, fantastic! Brilliant job!

  • T. J. Kirk OMG! This was literally AMAZING, best thing ever. you honor every redshirt that ever died a sucky death!

  • Clever

  • Awesomeness... this ia a work of genius, congratulations!!

    xxxx

  • What a fantastic concept! Something you don't see too often on this site... ;) A+

  • this brings honor to hundreds upon hundreds of nameless redshirts.

    thanks dude

    :)

  • "...when I learned about Hodgkin's law of parallel planet development..."

    "You believe that sci-fi crap?!"

    ROFL

  • Quite an amazing accomplishment.

  • You never mentioned the fact that Kirk sent two red shirts too their death after believing he was still in orbit around a planet!

  • When was that?

  • I don't remember which one it was, but it definitely happened.

  • It's "And the Children Shall Lead"

  • "And the Children Shall Lead"

  • Better than the ones that came with the movie Trekkies. Should have taken his wallet after he died.

  • Wow, AWESOME. I hate rating shit, but I HAD to give this 5 stars.

  • Why don't you guys do another one? Time? Money?

  • Yes to both! Mostly money. . .

  • Well, if this is the only one, it's still done very well. I'll give it an A.

  • Thanks!

  • @DavidORogers THis is great! XD BTW, what was the name of the slightly Elderly reshirt that lived to see the end of TOS and got an action figure made of him? :?

  • I have no idea! I haven't even seen all the episodes! I'm sure someone out there knows, though!

  • I have no idea! I haven't even seen all the episodes! I'm sure someone out there knows, though!

  • @DavidORogers I think I figured out the dials, they're slightly hardy to break and easier to repair than LCD's. XP

  • @fmscribs Sorry, meant to give it an "up" rating.

  • This is Great! A true gem on youtube.

  • Just watched this again after a long absence. Hilarious! But I agree with Johnny1969: Feed me some mo'!

  • This is far too awesome for words! But just this one vid uploaded over 2 years ago!?! C'mon, where's yer new stuff? Feed me some mo'!

  • I'm a Star Trek fan, and I appreciate your video very much. 5 stars ***** ! But I don't get the ending. What does it mean? The energy ball killed the one red-shirt, and the other runs away. Why? and where to?

  • So far there was about 3 blue shirts that were killed throughout the TOS.

  • "Death duty rule #1: No matter what they say, put you phaser on kill!"

"They don't give a Klingon crap about us!"

Those are killer funny! Thanks great job on this one.

  • Thats basically the funniest thing ever! hahaha I LOVE THAT!

  • cool making with excellent effect...

  • "A better captain would."

    Uh huh. ♥

  • Loved it, loved it, absolutely loved it!!!!!!! Funny, funny , very funny stuff!!!!!! THANKS!!!!!

  • where'd you get all the eqiupment, like phasers?

God is a God of Wonders

  • phasers were models I assembled and painted

communicators were bought from a costume store

shirts bought at a costume shop (I put sparkle on badges)

pants I had altered by a local tailor shop

boots rented from a costume company

    Thanks for watching!

  • oh, wow! that's a pretty cool get up! You should be a costume designer/ movie producer - it did great on both!

God is a God of Wonders

  • so much awesome!!

  • i wish capt. Archer was a red shirt

  • hey man, archer was getting good, they killed the show before it had a chance to get to the usual level of awesome that we all demand from star trek

remember the first few season of DSN?

  • Awesome! The bits with the communicator had me peeing my pants!

  • It's funny because it's sooooo TRUE!!

  • Great video !!

I absolutely love this video !!

    Very well done !!

  • I saw this on the Sci-Fi Channel student film show back in the day. Glad to see its still around.

  • ha ha perfect!! we watched it right when we got home. great acting, great camera, what fun!!

  • 47!!!! AWESOME REFERENCE! "Blueshirts never get killed. They annouce when anyone else is dead." Too true, too true. Good vid. =)

  • I'm a big fan of the original series but I don't get the 47 reference. Help! I gotta know! (for Dirty Harry fans: "I gots to know.")

  • I'm a big fan of the original series but I don't get the reference to 47. Help, I gotta know! (For Dirty Harry fans:"I gots to know..")

  • Joe Menosky, one of the story writers of Star Trek: The Next Generation, "infected" other Star Trek writers with it, and as a result the number (or its reverse, 74) occurs in some way or other in almost every episode of this program and its spin-offs Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise. The number might be mentioned in the dialogue, appear on a computer screen a character is looking at, or be a substring of a larger number.

  • Oh my god that was so funny! I laughed so hard!!!! "Wait, Kirk doesn't say Make it so." "Yeah, well a better captain would." :D HILARIOUS!!! Great job!

  • well, i made it through 4 minutes, but that was enough

    not very good

  • I don't think I've laughed so much in ages! Thanks, very funny, well scripted and well acted. I've put it on my favourites list :)

  • Nice Red Shirt Vid!

    Hi Guys,

You might like my Star Trekish show called S.E.X. (Star Explorer Xenolith) An Angry Drunk in Space searches the galaxy for his kidnapped girlfriend!

    Peace,

    Travis

  • No Doohan was large in the movies, definately not in the show. Pay attention.

  • The people posting about how there are no fat redshirts are forgetting that James Doohan was well on the heavy side.

  • ROFL LMAO....LOVED it!

  • haha, great video. Will be waiting for more

  • "Make it so."

    "Does he really say that?"

    "A better captain would."

LMFAO. Great parody! Well thought out and really funny!

  • David, this is funny and reminds me of a good time in making it - thanks for the chance and hope your still kicking it -check out my stuff and late

  • (I say this as an overweight person) This suffers the same problem a lot of Trek fan films do. There are NO FAT PEOPLE IN STARFLEET. Being overweight and wanting to play a Starfleet officer should be as out of the question as being a female Chinese dwarf and wanting to play Kirk. Bulbous torsos packed into starfeet uniforms are a sure way to make your film look amateurish. But it had some great lines. :)

  • > Bulbous torsos packed into starfeet uniforms are a sure way to make

    > your film look amateurish.

This was one the funniest things I've ever seen covering Star Trek.

  • True but the acting was solid my friend...

  • Thanks for Posting this, David.

I haven't seen it since it aired on the Sci-Fi Channel in 2001 and I've been wanting to see it again.

  • MORE!!

  • What an idiot lol. It's so beautiful.

  • lol

    blue shirts don't get killed

they just announce when some one is dead xD

  • Wonderful! TJ Hooker! Funny! I was waiting for someone to mention Star Wars in Star Trek fandom! Great acting and great writing!

  • I agree, it should be a series...it'd be a riot. If Chad Vader can do it...

    Anyway, hope u do more.

  • This is one of the best fan films out there. Funny without being stupid. Well acted (always a problem in fan films), and natural. Bravo!

  • This is great. Good job. I'd like to see what you could do with the bridge set and girls in mini skirts.

    Any more of these?

  • Good Ol Death Duty - It's so true.

  • Man, I saw this a long while back and loved it. Glad to see it again!

  • Loved It. Laugh out loud funny.

  • Simply Hilarious. The perspective of the poor red-shirts portrayed quite cleverly.

  • Once again, a great parody film project, but what happened to the rank braids on their sleeves?

  • Very clever !!! Nice in-house jokes too. Well done !

  • *LMAO* Funny video. You should make it a series.

  • Really great movie, natural acting.. and reminds me a bit of my recruitment times... always complaining about the commanders ;-) lovely!

  • This is some clever stuff. Fun to watch. I've shown it to everyone I know and have heard nothing but good things. Even from people who have never seen Star Trek.

  • This is excellent...the ending was not predictable because I would have assumed that both would be killed. Great work!!!!

  • excellent production values. really nice work!

  • yes, the ending was obvious :)

    good acting i must say

  • Great Film! Of course, I already knew how it would end!

  • Great short film. Loved it.

  • That was great. Glad I found it!

  • That was great! Kind of a drop-off ending, though. But the acting was great, and the special effects were impressive. Good editing job, and the script was flawless! 5/5!

  • Surprisingly decent acting...nice job with the genuine sound FX too...nice job!
