In 1967 my mom was at a party and they had "Fresh Cream" playing. My mom was just knocked out by it, "WHO IS THIS?!" she asked somebody. She was a die hard fan from that point on. She's now 63 and Cream is still one of her favorite bands of all time.
All versions of Cream - I Feel Free videos don't have 1M views in total, whereas Lady G's most unknown songs have 10s of millions of views. We are a doomed civilization. This is so good I play it in loop for 10x sometimes.
Filmed at Richmond Park then Old Deer Park PLAYGROUND..now sadly gone!!!..many happy memories for me as a child) Old Deer Park is by the Thames - you can see Richmond Lock in the background.
They run off towards the then recently-built Richmond Baths at the end.
Hey, does anyone know where the video of cream playing live together in one room with one camera? Jack bruce is wearing a hat and it's in the revolution pub. Thanks.
Great song! One of the band's best! I like the Cream of the "Fresh Cream" era better than anything else that they did. I wish that they would release a 2 cd deluxe edition of the "Fresh Cream" album. The "Fresh Cream" era recordings rank alongside the classic John Mayall & Bluesbreakers & Graham Bond Organisation recordings of the time as some of the best. Cream really had it together when they made their first recordings. Give it a listen & see why.
Anu 291, I think the idea is they were dressed maybe as Druids, but more like Benedictine Monks, and then you notice toward the end of the song they cast off their hooded garments just when the lyrics say, "I feel free..."
After seeing the band in San Francisco in the late '60s in a concert ripped on acid, Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart asked bandmate Jerry Garcia if Cream was the best band in the world. "They are tonight," responded Garcia.
Man! First time I heard this song, my best teacher ever played it to me. I was so stunned I couldn't speak, and he thought I was indifferent to it. He didn't play me any more Cream... But I was soaring off the ground!
So great to find this, I havn't listened to Cream in years and years. Thank you alltheseblues for posting!

My mama knew a woman who went to see the reunion with her husband because his work gave the tickets to him
But the thing was the woman never even heard of cream before..so that was £600 ticket very much wasted when someone else more willing would have loved to have seen them
OMG!!! this is so funny!!! hehehe i love the parts when jack bruce jumps back on the swing!!! and when ginger baker and eric fall when they running!!! it looks so funny!!!
Definitely not. I know this video looks like it's categorizes in the "pop" area, but they're later material matches up with the Jimi Hendrix Experience and is very influential.
Remember, Cream was the first supergroup. The Monkees were not.
While I am inclined to agree, the word "period" when used rhetorically actually represents that dot at the end of a sentence, thus: "." So to say "period" and follow it with a "." is a bit redundant.
Not only that, even when used verbally, saying "period" at the end of a statement is an arrogant way of saying "And anyone who disagrees is a dickhead who will not be listened to. I am the ultimate authority on this subject and there is no more to say no matter whom you might be."
PLEASE DON'T READ THIS you will die in seven days if you don't post this comment on at least 10 other videos in the next hour, if you do tomorow will be the best day of your life
I second that .......i adore this song! Till recently my all time fave album was Sgt Peppers ...well it is officially now DISRAELI GEARS (IFeelFree was on FreshCream). CREAM kick everyone else's arse to hell and gone....
Clapton, Bruce, and Baker combine just the right amount of energetic guitar, tambourine, jazzy drums, and dreamy harmonies on this vibrant, refreshing song.
The slow motion, black-and-white footage amidst the park is just so perfect for the sound.
The Monty Python-like horseplay adds enjoyable humour.
