The correct translation of Dan. 11;37 is the Hebrew word "el" which can be applied to any of the pagan gods, and as your scripture points out in the second half of the verse the context is clarified here: "He shall honor a god of opposition a god (el) his fathers knew Not" -Daniel 11: 37. The Pope is not the "Beast" either, but there are MANY antichrists who deny the Son or try to replace him currently.

Any educated person knows that the inverted cross is in fact " St. Peters Cross" The first pope did not see himself worthy to be crucified in the same way as Jesus so he requested to be crucified upside down.

A more fitting exemplar of the Whore of Babylon would be NYC, the City of London, or the US Govt (whose exploits worldwide are supported by the southern baptists but not, officially anyway, by the vatican), forces more capable of quickly changing the near-term fortunes of humanity than the RCC.

I think the reference to the beast that was wounded is about the power of the papacy which was severely restricted in 1870 when Italy became a united country for the first time thereby limiting the papacy's kingdom to Vatican city,with the advent and rise of the E.U. I think the papacy has steadily regained it's temporal power and will ultimately rule the world spiritually from there as the chief purveyor of thiscoming new world religion through the work of the ecumenical movement.

@eatinpsilocybin I suggest you wake up Romans 1:19-20 clearly says "They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they call clearly see his invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God." On Judgement day will your excuse be "stating words as facts doesnt make them true"..i hope not.

England is a Christian country not a protestant one, Northern Ireland has 40% of the population which are Catholic - there is no sectarianism in England but its rife in Scotland and Ireland. Northern Ireland is part of the UK and therefore enjoys the benefits of that - like a stable economy for instance. I would happily let Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales have independence - has it ever occurred to you why they don't want it?

First,I want to say I don't defend the Catholic Church & believe it was infiltrated by Satanists long ago. That being said... it wasn't just the Catholic Church that had people burned & tortured. St Joan of Arc was a Catholic & was burned alive by the Church of England for witchcraft. It was Protestants who were responsible for all witchcraft executions in America. It's not well known that the great majority of those brought before the Inquisition were released without a trial.

Joan of Arc was tried by the Roman Catholic English in 1431 long before the reformation happened, there was no Church of England then.

I went to a Catholic school & my 3rd grade teacher told us that it was those "terrible Protestants" who burned Joan. Thank you for the correct info. Thats the last time I'll take a history lesson from a nun! Peace.
