In all this game, the devil is losing and at the end will be accused of everything because GOD don’t want any rivals. Conclusion: live at the full in the freedom of GOD (praying in a right form, following the INSTRUCTIONS in the Bible - keeping the 10 commandments - including keeping the Saturday as the 7th day etc.) instead of in the incapacity and limited power of devil because he is just a temporary puppet. Jesus Christ is the savior and hope.
This is an excellent documentary - highly convincing. Those interested in the well-argued case that Maybrick was Jack the Ripper should read the carefully researched book by Paul Feldman called 'Jack the Ripper: the Final Chapter'. As an Oxford D.Phil. in literary analysis, I found that book and its painstaking investigation into, and marshalling of, numerous items of evidence supporting the genuineness of the Ripper Diary to be conclusive. Maybrick almost certainly was the Ripper.
I think the evidence is sufficient to show that James Maybrick was indeed the Ripper but were there possibly accomplices, men who protected him? The very eyewitness accounts alone definitely point to James but strange that the police would investigate suspects who did not match the description given of the man.
I think it is a forgery, there was a lot left out of this documentary, which is unsurprising considering it was made in association with the company publishing the diary, as stated at the end.
@theakstonsrock just read two books on this diary written from a or and against perspective. I have come to the conclusion, after reading all that is known, that this diary is genuine. You have to understand that "ripperolgy" is a full time job for alot of people who call themselves "ripperologists" and if the true identity of Jack was to be known there lifes work would be null and void. Not to mention the financial damage to them. These people refute the diary at all costs and will often....
@theakstonsrock bend evidence in favour of the diary being forged. I take it some of the things you say were left out include the "poste house" and the position of the FM on the wall (due to there being reports that there was a wash basin there that was moved just prior to the picture being taken.)If those are the sort of things of which you speak then there has been evidence found that once again supports the diary. There is more supporting it than against it I promise you.The diary is genuine.
@mike649fox its hard to know for sure as the guy who had it in his posession at first said in an affidavit that he forged it with his wife in the late 1980s.
@1860george yeah this is all explained n jack the ripper, the final chapter. At least I think that's the name of it.Basically Mike Barrett said he'd forged it in order to win his wife caroline back.It turns out she had given the diary to mikes friend Tony and asked hm to pass it onto mike but not ever let him know it had come from her.She wanted mike to become rich from it but didn't want him asking her family about where the diary had come from so did it that way.Mike,however......
@1860george ......got to the bottom of it all in the end and went public saying that it had come from carolines family.Caroline had begged him not to so when he did, she dumped him. Now, in a pathetic attempt to get her back,he's saying he wrote it.They asked him how he mixed the ink so it would pass the tests and he couldn't answer. He couldn't answer any of their questions and so was dismissed. That is a very, very brief account of what took place but the best I can do on here.
The diary is good but has several flaws. Most knowldege of diary seems to have been taken from press reports and it was not helped when the owner Michael Barret later confessed to a newspaper for forging it. As a result there are many common errors which surely if it was the killer's diary he would not have such error. The diarist said he threw all the organs over the room in Kelly's murder when in fact they were placed on a table.
Very interesting. There is another documentary which convincingly suggests the mortuary assistant as being a likely suspect. That's just it. You can easily make things fit to give a convincing story but the fact of the matter is there is just no definitive proof. But it's the mystery that keeps us all hooked. Do we really want the case to be solved? I'd rather keep the mystery!
Regardless of who Jack The Ripper actually was, I don't think we will ever know, I think we should take a moment to think about everything those poor women must have gone through. Who knows how far into the mutilation this poor woman was still alive.
I read the book when it came out and even after 'affidavits' from Barrett, that were retracted and restated, I still believe that M is the man.
Frustrating how money (or other ulterior motive) makes people staunchly denounce the 'diary' regardless of how compelling it is as an insight into the mind of a psychopathic killer & addict. The 'diary' was never proven beyond shadow of doubt to be a hoax (or genuine). Reading the 'diary' transcript is a must.
Whether it is the truth or a hoax this makes a very interesting and creepy diary to read. Might as well leave it to time and the experts to find the truth. Then again no one was there to witness those account or met JTR apart from his victims, on the act.... Oh yes and that witness who was threatened if he revealed JTR's true identify.
than you very much for uploading this documentary it was extremely interesting and fascinating. i cant much say what i think about this and if i am to put my belief down later new evidence may be uncovered yet again, perhaps the truth or perhaps a false hoax
This for me has just shed some new light as to who held Jack the Ripper's real identity. I do not think that this diary is a hoax, but if it is its a bloody good one. The entries show the ravings of a mad man, just because it is staring us in the face that James Maybrick may be the Ripper doesn't mean that its "all too easy" or its a "fake". People who claim to be "experts" can be so narrow-minded.
@Mickeus what the hell? so you're saying that NONE of those women were murdered despite the fact that there are photographs, police reports and eye witness statements?

1989chode,
Interesting comment. I have little doubt of the diary authenticity. The question became what organizations J Mayberry was associated with. The bottom line is all secret societies are Satanic with or without oblivious members knowledge. Invocations, evocations and incantations using Satanic rituals derived from Solomon's grimoirs (magik) which were expressly forbidden. Secret Societies operate in the dark and membership to a secret society opens the door for evil to enter. *freemason*
don't thank them for scraps, stand up for yourself. tell these money makers to fuck themselves for getting people to kill off PBS. demand better structure, content, format. and other production values from media, esspecially in the educational genre. .it maybe the best of all the mindless driibble shows i've seen for effort, but the lack of facts still remaineds.
The truth is we may never truly know who Jack the Ripper was.. But this diary if it was forged was done by a master craftsman.. Either that or it was the Loch Ness monster..
Well it was really interesting up to the credits. Loses some credibility at mentioning the association between the Producers of this show and publishers of the diary. Conflict of interest there.
he was devastated by the unholy crimes of his wife and, her lover in, he, the ripper's older age. the ripper started on a certain date. the last murder on a certain date. two book ends with a line of murder's in between. this is a great mystery that will never be solved due to lack of dna evidence. just like amelia earhart. unsolveable mystery.
Once discovered to be a fraud the publication of" The Jack the Ripper Diary" was cancelled in North America. Having no knowledge of the fraud,I still find it difficult to believe you can take it seriously. In fact it is impossible in this day and age, after all this time, that anyone would believe they could actually find out who Jack the Ripper really was. In fact does anyone really want there to be a solution?
Well...that was an very exciting documentary! I must read the book now! ;) I was fairly convinced until he started asking for forgiveness. That is the only part that makes me suspicious. Thanks for this film. I enjoyed it. :)
The only thing that bothers me about this diary, is that it contains no actual dates. Was it common for diary entries of that time, or ever, to have no dates? I would think that it would either be appropriately dated, or simply no have no indication of a date entirely. But, "Dated this third day"?
You're right; that's one of the indicators that it is phony. The form of Victorian diaries was quite rigid- for instance, the day's weather & temperature were generally noted. They weren't done "stream of consciousness" style; that's 20th C. And actually WRITING the word "Dated" is silly; just like writing the word "Signed"... like the permission slip forged by a fellow 9th Grader that lets you stay home from school for the day : "Signed, Jack's Mother"
But then again a forger would have KNOWN the dates- everyone does- and if they intended on making it look like JM wrote it surely they would have included them. Besides, the writer was hardly of sound mind and I doubt in the mood for talking about the weather
Who is to say just what "rules" the ravings of a homicidal psychotic must follow? James Joyce wrote in a stream of consciousness style at times (he was born in 1882); it's not that big a stretch and by itself, proves nothing.
no in all seriousness i used to believe it was queen victorias dr william gull but now after watching this believe it is the most conclusive version that i have herd. but we should all
i have not watched this documentary since i was a kid, great to see it again. personnaly i dont think it was a hoax. i think with everything that is shocking or almost unbelievable. when it is handed to the public, they dismiss it, as it is always easier to just say no it cant be. rather than to subjectivly look at the facts and accept them for what they are.
After the vicious attacks on the poor women, he had to walk the streets covered, I mean covered in blood etc. No one saw him? His wife didn't notice the blood? Who washed his clothes? It's not like he could go home and take a quick shower and throw in a load of laundry. I find all of this very strange.
It is real that is the simplest explanation which is why. People don't like simple explanations.. Try this first find a psychopathic schizophrenic then dictate to him the journal and see if he will write it for you. If the handwriting analyst is correct then that is what you would have to do for it to be a forgery.
I originally had thought most surely that the Queen's doctor was the killer. After watching this fascinating docu. I feel that it was James after all. This is one of the most informative films on the subject that I have viewed uo to now. Thank you.
The judge at Florence Maybrick's trial was committed to a lunatic asylum in 1891 and was probably on his way to madness during the trial which would explain his behaviour.
I would very much like to believe that this is true. It is certainly by far the neatest and most beguiling theory on Jack the Ripper I've ever heard yet. The greatest problem is that it may be just a little too easy. However, just because something is implausible does not mean it's impossible. I greatly enjoyed watching these videos.
@marcelbonzo1971 I agree with you, this is all too impossibly convenient. can't they just use some sort of dating technology on the bindings of the book and the pages. to date when they most likely were made and when the ink was put to paper.
I have now watched this all the way through twice and will no doubt watch it again.
I am now more convinced it is a hoax largely because of the letters - trying to fit all the famous ones in no matter what is just pushing it too far. But not the many lesser known letters which leads me to think the author had not used the archival evidence. Nonetheless it is a brilliant hoax and I cannot believe that Mr Barrett was directly responsible for it.
OK - will do if I find it. I have read the Diary now although after reading it I am now totally convinced it is a hoax. It is a very short document and in my opinion looks as though it was written in a very short amount of time!
Yes, but let's face it - is was very entertaining! I really enjoyed watching this film and even though the diary is a hoax, nearly all the facts presented in this film are true!
The use of the word 'to top oneself' may only have appeared in the dictionaries in 1934 but the lead time then was much longer than today. It is perfectly possible that it existed long before the Ripper murders.
1. In 1995 Michael Barrett admitted he forged this with his wife although he lated retracted his confession. But his confessions also need to be questioned as he is not an educated person (as the hoaxer is - if that is what the diary is!)
2. The real Jack would have to have been a local. An outsider renting a room in Middlesex street would have stood out during the crime investigation particularly if he were floating in and out on murder days.
There are a huge amount of films like this on the internet.
I accept that this is a very compelling argument. Whereas today the diary is believed to be a hoax, and the finder has signed several affadavits to this end, reading the affadavits on the internet, one cannot believe that it is the same person as the fraudster clearly is not very educated.
I suggest other people look at them also.
My opinion is that it is probably a very clever fraud but I leave the possibility that it may be true.

Thank you.
cadburyeggman 3 years ago 4
The Queen's doctor certainly was not the killer as he could barely walk. That was the 1988 Michael Caine film - really well made but short on facts!

Fascinating, thanks for sharing.

It was my intention to enjoy people with putting this on youtube...although i believe it is true...
Thanks for responding and enjoy!!

Please, if you have the time and money....read "The Final Chapter" by Paul H. Feldman....you'll be amazed by his findings...

OK - will do if I find it. I have read the Diary now although after reading it I am now totally convinced it is a hoax. It is a very short document and in my opinion looks as though it was written in a very short amount of time!
alanheath 3 years ago
It is a hoax, but none the less an entertaining one.
Aerien 3 years ago
Yes, but let's face it - is was very entertaining! I really enjoyed watching this film and even though the diary is a hoax, nearly all the facts presented in this film are true!

The use of the word 'to top oneself' may only have appeared in the dictionaries in 1934 but the lead time then was much longer than today. It is perfectly possible that it existed long before the Ripper murders.

Arguments against:
1. In 1995 Michael Barrett admitted he forged this with his wife although he lated retracted his confession. But his confessions also need to be questioned as he is not an educated person (as the hoaxer is - if that is what the diary is!)
2. The real Jack would have to have been a local. An outsider renting a room in Middlesex street would have stood out during the crime investigation particularly if he were floating in and out on murder days.

can understand your comment, but I am not going to discuss the subject on YouTube, there are other webstites to do that, I think.
Just posted the vids for pure entertainment and to give those interested the information.
marcelbonzo1971 3 years ago
It is a very good film and went a long way to convince me.
Clearly it depends on the authenticity of the diary!
I hope that this is linked into my films - because I think it will interest other people as well!
alanheath 3 years ago
I just hope, putting this on the internet will help solving the case...
Thanks for your response and let us just enjoy the mystery that will continue on and on...
marcelbonzo1971 3 years ago
Oh, by the way:
Because I am neglecting the copyright, I hope this will stay on Youtube as long as possible...
It may very well be that in time, I must delete it, because of the copyrightholders......
marcelbonzo1971 3 years ago
There are a huge amount of films like this on the internet.
I accept that this is a very compelling argument. Whereas today the diary is believed to be a hoax, and the finder has signed several affadavits to this end, reading the affadavits on the internet, one cannot believe that it is the same person as the fraudster clearly is not very educated.
I suggest other people look at them also.
My opinion is that it is probably a very clever fraud but I leave the possibility that it may be true.
