The wobble does not in the least disturb me in this piece (Puccini!), and everyone talks about it, but hey, listen to other interpretations and see if the voice is so stable... Whatever... Callas always delivers, and she gives "ce supplément d'âme" in every interpretation. Who cares about a wobble when the voice depicts feelings?
Yes it's true, but the problem it's because after the loss of weight she didn't find any more her muscular supports and she told to feel a weakness in her diaphragm, what was the cause of this oscillation. After her loss of weight she should have made a break during some month, it would have allowed her to work again these muscular supports in her new body!
You know, you can go to the metropolitan Opera's web site and read all the reviews of her US opera performances at the MET... One reviewer who also saw her in Chicago a few years earlier, commented on her being plagued with a "dry throat"...... about the time, that High E flats became... less reliable for her.. The biographies of Callas clearly state that she used diuretics for weight control... this would have a large effect on the vocal folds too. Makes you wonder. and your English is GREAT

Yes she could have. I think she was just so depressed and worn out...

With just a little work, she could have fixed that wobble.
